Kazuki and the others left the cave and headed back to the village. Mei especially raced forward ahead of everyone and started to play with the other children. Right now all of the children were quite hesitant and constantly looked back behind them as they played to make sure their parents didn’t all of the sudden vanish. After a bit though their parents assured them that they would never leave them again and the kids finally relaxed and played like a wild bunch.

The mood shifted to one of celebration and laughter. While some did mourn, the fact was many of them were just grateful to be alive and seeing the children play and the other villagers laugh, even their sadness faded a bit. The healing process may already be starting.

As Kazuki and the others entered the village they couldn’t help but pass a house and hear Sam and Kimi going at it. Shin tried to have a peak in but Asuna was already cranking back a punch for him. The two once more had a skirmish of words.

Kazuki was feeling annoyed with the two’s back and forth but he wasn’t as bothered as usual. He was actually in a rather good mood. With the final ingredient in hand, he was about to go head off to one of the empty houses and reforge his core right away. For him, there was no reason to wait.

Kazuki hollered behind him.

“I’m going to go meditate for a while. I need to clear my thoughts, so please don’t disturb me.”

Asuna and Shin didn’t even hear him but Danny and Tsura nodded.

“Sure whatever, have fun.”

As Kazuki walked off, he noticed a slight smile on Tsura’s face as she watched him go. Turning around, the two walked off somewhere by themselves as well.

(Hmm, has Danny finally joined the club already. Guess all that’s left is Shin, Asuna and Nunully.)

A small smirk appeared on Kazuki’s face before he shook the useless thoughts away and walked toward the edge of the village. There he found a house. He wasn’t sure if it was one of the abandoned ones or not but it was quiet and that was all that mattered right now. Besides even if it wasn’t he was pretty sure no one would mind if he borrowed it for a bit.

*Creeeeek*

The old wooden door announced his presence but no one was there. Shutting the door the house was more a shack than anything else. It consisted of a single room no bigger than 10 by 10. A small bed sat in one corner and a small stone furnace sat in the other. A few pots and pans and that was about it for the inside. With the door shut only a single beam of light came in threw a shaggy window. Kazuki adjusted the curtain on it until the entire room was covered in darkness.

It wasn’t necessary for it to be dark but if that one beam of light continued to shine through, Kazuki would think about it and it may distract him. To have anything distract him when he’s on the verge of doing something he’s never done before, especially with the factors concerning both his soul as well as his Mage core. Well, he simply didn’t wish to take a risk.

Kazuki sat down and nervously pulled out all of the ingredients from his storage ring and laid each of the items in front of them. Taking stock of them he recited.

“13 Nexar crystals, 1 Stazar Void rock, 2 Tier one Magic Beast cores and 1 tier 2 Magic Beast core.”

Kazuki couldn’t help but think back to Tilly. Without her help, he wouldn’t have acquired the Nexar crystals nor the Stazar Void rock until he made his way to a large city and even then it wasn’t a guarantee that these items would be found there. Kazuki couldn’t help but wonder how that crazy lady was doing in Edngaul.

(No doubt she’s either causing trouble and drinking or she’s bored out of her mind.)

Looking at the items he recounted their uses.

(Stazar Void rocks. With this rock, I should be able to stabilize space and unstable it. Not only can it also teleport objects it can teleport objects to a certain location. Once my Mage core materializes, I should be able to use this rock to implant it within me and fuse it into the center of my soul.)

Kazuki picked up a single Nexar crystal.

(With these I should be able to make the Beast cores.)

Just as Kazuki was in deep thought, he felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand. His eyes darted around the room looking for the reason why. Even though the room was pitch black, Kazuki could see every inch of it as though there was light. No matter where he looked though, he could spot nothing.

His ear twitched as he concentrated. He could hear the sound of children playing in the distance. The villagers roaring with laughter and celebrating were clear as day as well. He could even hear the slight moans coming from a certain house, as a matter of fact, he could hear two separate moans from two different houses. Rolling his eyes, he was about to get back to what he was doing when he finally noticed.

(The birds, nature itself, why has it gone silent?)

Kazuki put the items away. Slowly he stood up and opened the old wooden door.

*Creeeeeek*

Walking outside he peered up. The wind was blowing and the clouds were moving as they always did but something was clearly off. Kazuki looked around and all seemed normal but then why, why did he get this feeling. Like something was ready to pounce upon him at any given moment.

*Sniff sniff sniff*

“Boss, theirs plenty of magic leaking from over there.”

Kazuki came around a corner and so two did several other people. Kazuki came face to face with a large ball of meat or rather a person that resembled that. Seeing Kazuki’s face the fat man shouted to the man by his side.

“Ahhhhhh! Boss look look, it’s him! We found Ryuta.”

The man he called boss, his eyes widened in surprise. Kazuki as well was shocked. This fat ball of lard just mentioned his name.

(This feeling, is it because of them?)

The man next to the fatty smiled.

“So you are him huh.”

Kazuki tried to play it off and waved them away.

“Huh, what are you talking abou…”

*Bam*

Muteki punched out, tearing the wind in front of his fist. The blow came so quick but Kazuki didn’t find it to be unexpectedly. The strange feeling he got, the hair standing up on the back of his neck, he knew when something was dangerous. At the moment Muteki threw a punch forward, Kazuki’s ring had already flashed and his shield appeared in his hands.

What Kazuki, however, didn’t expect was Muteki’s strength. Kazuki held the shield in front of him with both of his hands and braced himself. As soon as the punch landed he would knock his fist away and close in on Muteki’s chest. As the blow landed upon the shield, a loud clang rang out and Kazuki was lifted from his feet and thrown backward.

The shield dented inward and several large cracks spread out from the center of the shield, threatening to break. As Kazuki was flying backward he could feel his arms trembling from the impact that had run through the shield and into him. Kazuki flipped into the air and landed on a nearby roof. The force wasn’t all the way dispersed and the roof beneath his feet cracked.

Kazuki was absolutely shocked by Muteki’s strength.

(This man, his strength is almost as strong as a direct blow from Zetsu.)

Kazuki’s mind processed the situation at lightning speed and he ran through many scenarios all at once. The conclusion he came to made things clear in an instant.

(I, can not beat this man alone.)

All it took was this one blow for Kazuki to realize this. Kazuki didn’t hesitate to roar up at the sky.

“SAM! ON ME!”

The very next instant an explosion of some kind came from behind. Muteki didn’t care what that was and kicked off the ground. His body vanished and a myriad of after images were left in his wake. Kazuki’s legs filled with ki and he jumped down from the roof, intending to gain some distance. Muteki’s speed was greater though.

Appearing before Kazuki he stood directly in front of him and was about to grab Kazuki but Kazuki smashed his shield forward.

*Bam!*

Muteki slapped it away as though it were nothing and sent it flying far into the distance.

“Hmm, you actually managed to block my bl…”

Before Muteki finished his sentence, Sam jumped up and swung his large Warhammer down, intending to crush Muteki’s skull in and kill him in one blow. Muteki simply reached up.

*BANG!*

Muteki caught Sam’s Warhammer and the ground cracked beneath his feet. Muteki lifted the Warhammer with one hand and his eyes lit up in delight.

“Oh! This one has strength. Good, this won’t be as boring as I thought it would be.”
