Muteki’s eyes curiously glanced down at Sam’s lower half and wondered out loud.

“Why is your dick hard. Don’t tell me your the type that gets off from fighting?”

“Hahahahaha!”

Varia broke out into wild laughter hearing her man’s teasing. At first, she thought he was merely joking but after a glance she confirmed it.

Sam had just been in the middle of playing a round with Kimi when he suddenly heard Kazuki’s desperate call. He literally threw his pants on and raced through a building before he arrived at Kazuki’s side.

Sam didn’t care about Muteki’s words and instead felt a sense of urgency from the amount of resistance he faced. He tried putting more strength into his hammer but Muteki was unaffected.

“Hmm, from what I know, you are supposed to only be in the Elemental stage, yet I can feel that you’ve already become a 3rd stage Mage. You must have just done this recently, otherwise, with some training, you’d be able to do a little more than this, right?”

Muteki increased his strength another fold and lifted Sam’s hammer along with Sam and tossed him away. Sam was caught off guard and went flying.

Kazuki though found it to be an opportunity.

(He’s distracted.)

Kazuki’s ring glowed with a purple light and Shin’s saber appeared in his hand. With zero hesitation Kazuki thrust it forward at his top speed.

*Clank!*

Right before the sword pierced Muteki’s eye, it was stopped not even an inch away. Muteki gripped the blade like a vise. The inside of his hand was coated with a layer of dark rock. With a slight squeeze, the sword’s blade was chipped.

“Hmm, now this is what I was expecting. Hunting your ass all the way to here, it’s no wonder Garn wants to drag you back to Tresta.”

Kazuki had been too careless. He felt that with the rumors that Garn had been injured from his fight in the capitol, that Garn wouldn’t come after him and would recover first. He knew Garn could just as well send people after him but seeing as such a long time had passed, Kazuki figured Garn simply didn’t care and had more important things to do.

Kazuki’s blade trembled as he added ki with his strength and tried to force the tip into Muteki’s eye. Muteki smirked and his grip held tight. The sword could move no further no matter how much strength Kazuki used. Kazuki grit his teeth. Seeing that Muteki wasn’t attacking he asked.

“Garn sent you after me?”

Muteki found his target and was going to take him back anyway and felt like answering him on a whim.

“Yep, oh by the way where is the half-elf?”

“Nunully, why?”

Muteki’s eyes turned deadly but he didn’t answer.

(Even now Garn still wishes to kill Nunully just because she’s a half-elf.)

Kazuki felt another level of disgust for Garn. Just because Nunully wasn’t fully human Garn deemed her as a monster and a vile being that needed to be eradicated no matter what. All of this in his own words to preserve the human race against all outside threats.

Knowing his reason for being here, there was no more need to talk. Kazuki wasn’t confident in defeating him but at the very least he and the others could run away.

Kazuki opened his mouth and pretended as though he would say something. At the same time, he kept eye contact with Muteki before stomping out.

“You know…”

*Bam!*

Kazuki stomped down with everything he had on Muteki’s foot and prepared to turn tail and flee while Muteki wrestled with the pain. Muteki though smiled. Kazuki couldn’t help but glance downwards and saw that Muteki’s foot had already been covered in black rock armor. The rock had cracked a bit but besides that, it, along with his foot was completely
fine.

Muteki’s grin only grew wider.

“Your fighting style, I like it.”

Muteki changed the angle of the sword and pulled past himself dragging Kazuki along with it. Kazuki released the sword but his momentum from the pull brought him forward. Muteki threw out a punch at Kazuki’s face.

(Damn, this one’s gonna hurt.)

Kazuki raised his arms up in an X guard. Just as Muteki’s fist were about to strike him though.

*Ching Shing Ching*

Several thick spikes of ice appeared between the two and stabbed at Muteki’s chest. Muteki’s reflexes were fast though. His fist that came from the front as a punch, with a small pivot of his foot, he turned counter-clockwise and his attack turned into a spinning back fist. His fist broke the first spike of ice then the second and the third but by the time it landed upon the fourth one, he merely cracked it. There were still a few more Ice spikes stabbing toward him and he was forced to cover himself in armor.

A layer of black rock armor formed over his front and the remaining ice spikes collided with him.

*Clank clank chin clank*

The material of the two was so hard and dense, that the impact sounded similar to large slabs of metal slamming into each other.

The ice spikes were as hard as metal and so too was Muteki’s rock armor. Neither one would submit under the force and would break but the ice spike had more momentum behind them and knocked Muteki back. Muteki himself was surprised by this and landed back with his squad. They all stared at him with wide eyes before they felt a bit cautious of the ice.

“Muteki, are…are you ok?”

Muteki waved Varia’s concerns away, his face held no worry and instead was filled with excitement.

(A challenger has appeared, good, I might actually have some fun then.)

Nunuylly stood on the main road and walked over towards Kazuki.

“Ryuta are you ok?”

Kazuki gave her a slight nod.

“I think we’ll need to be leaving.”

Nunully was startled hearing that. They had just faced a monster like Zetsu but now Kazuki was saying they needed to flee.

(Are they really that strong?)

Nunully held some doubt but if Kazuki believed they should leave, then she trusted his judgment.

At nearly the same time Nunully walked over Sam had gotten back up and he, along with Asuna as well as the others grouped at Kazuki’s side. Not only them though, the villagers hearing the ruckus, it was even louder than their celebration and it brought them over. As soon as they saw this group of strangers, Geil, the green-haired Hina’s uncle stepped over in between the two groups.

He faced Muteki’s group and bowed.

“You all must be the Adventurers we sent for. Please there is no need to fight. These heroes behind me have already solved the situation so if your fighting about the reward, I’m sure that can all be worked out at the nearest Guild Hall. Fighting here is pointless.”

Uncle Geil confused Muteki and his crew as the hired Adventurers that was sent for over a month ago. He thought the two groups were fighting for the reward for taking care of Zetsu which he didn’t understand seeing as how there was no reward here. Everyone knew that rewards were paid out at the Guild Hall. He felt that if Kazuki’s group and Muteki’s group just talked then the situation could be defused but of course, that wasn’t possible.

Kazuki was about to tell Geil to hurry up and fall back but before he could Varia appeared before Geil and grabbed him by the neck. With ease, she lifted Geil who was more than a foot taller than her off the ground. Geil struggled in her grip but he could do nothing to getaway. Varia sneered at Geil and the other villagers who were now terrified and began shouting in dismay. Varia snapped at them and screamed.

“SHUT THE FUCK UP!”

The villagers felt their knees go weak from just her voice and a few hid while a few others fell on their asses.

“Listen here you ignorant fools, we are here to do the kings work and any who gets in our way will receive the same thing as this man!”

Varia was just about to crush Geil’s neck when Muteki appeared by her side and grabbed her wrist.

Varia was stunned.

“H…honey!?”

Muteki spoke calmly.

“Let this man go.”

“But..but, he’s getting in the way of our mission. We are supposed to get rid of any obstacles…”

Varia swallowed her words back down as she saw the vicious glare Muteki directed toward her.

“Varia, are you not listening to my orders.”

Varia felt a cold chill and dropped Geil to the ground. A thought flashed in her head.

(He’s going to kill me.)

The very next instant she felt a lustful tingle in her lower half at the thought of Muteki destroying her.

Muteki ignored the hearts in Varia’s eyes and spoke to the Geil in a calm manner.

“I don’t know of the adventurers you speak of but we are not they. Now get up and get the fuck out of the way.”

Geil scooted backward and scrambled to his feet and ran back to his sister and his niece’s side. Cold sweat pouring like rain from his face. The woman alone had already frightened him but Muteki’s cold demeanor left him feeling as though a mountain were about to collapse on top of him.

Muteki pulled out a golden medallion for all to see and spoke with force.

A few in the village recognized it immediately but more than that Kazuki and his group could tell at a glance it was real.

“My name is Muteki. I have authority higher than nearly all in this land and I have come here for a reason.”

Muteki pointed at Kazuki and the others.

“Those people right there are the only ones I’m after, no one else. I don’t care about this village or any of you that live here. I will say this though, my Varia is absolutely correct, if you interfere in our business then your life is forfeit. No matter whether you are a man, woman or child, you get in our way and you will be considered as a traitor to all of Treia and be sentenced to death.”

The villagers who had celebrated and praised Kazuki and the others as their saviors just moments ago now slowly began to back away. Kimi looked at the villagers and snorted.

“Really, you ungrateful pieces of shit. We just saved you all and now you turn your back on us.”

The villagers though refused to make eye contact with her or any of them and looked down and away.

Kazuki, on the other hand, understood them and wasn’t upset.

“Kimi, let it go. These people are weak and scared. They have just returned home after going through that nightmare and have just been reunited with their children. You can’t expect anything, not from these people.”

Kimi’s face turned sour and she went quiet but she still felt extremely bitter and disappointed. It seemed like what they had done up to now was wasted on these villagers and it was gutwrenching.

Muteki put the medallion away.

“Ryuta, you are absolutely right, these people are weak but at least that understand something that you don’t quite seem to grasp.”

Muteki paused for a moment before rock armor began to gather over top his body. Sam as well did the same and prepped his hammer while Asuna and the rest prepared themselves.

“Do you know what it is that I speak of?”

Kazuki didn’t answer and with both hands behind him, he was making ancient hand signs rapidly. He ignored Muteki and spoke in a whisper that only he and his group could hear.

“As soon as I give the signal, everyone throw everything they have at them. After that, Mei and Tsura you two will fly us out of here and we will escape.”

No one doubted Kazuki’s intuition in this situation. One of the main reasons was because they caught the tail end of his and Sam’s scrap with Muteki. They saw the overwhelming strength he had displayed and felt the danger.

Muteki could see that he was being ignored and a flash of anger appeared in his gaze.

“Ignoring me. Yes…you truly don’t grasp it do you. You really don’t seem to know your place. Allow me to demonstrate just exactly where you stand in this world.”
