Nunully wasted no time and opened a hole big enough for Kazuki to leave from. Kazuki took in a deep breath and didn’t even look back before jumping out of the dome.

As soon as his body was free from Nuunlly’s ice dome, Kazuki felt a terrifying pull on his body. Even with the heavy suit of earth armor, he was swept up into one of the tornadoes instantly. Not only that but small scratches formed all over his armor from the scrapping wind.

Triska had been watching the dome the entire time. As soon as she saw someone leave it, she roared.

“YOU THINK I’ll LET YOU ESCAPE!”

Triska instinctually tried to call her trident to her side but to no avail. It was still embedded in the center of a large sphere of ice.

(Damnit.)

Triska took hold of several trees and flung them at Kazuki using her tornado.

Kazuki didn’t panic. The wind moved everything at an incredible speed but compared with Triska’s speed or his own, Kazuki could still manage.

Five trees came flying at him from different angles.

Kazuki no longer had a sword but his body would have to do. His ki circulated through his body and he threw out a punch.

*Wham*

The first tree broke into several pieces and Kazuki’s hand creaked in pain. Being in the sky, it was difficult to use all of his power without proper footing. Kazuki used this to his advantage though. If he couldn’t smash them all then he would just have to change things up.

Grabbing a piece of the broken tree in front of him, he chucked it at another quickly approaching tree and launched it forward like a spear. The chunk of tree drove into the other tree like a wedge and Kazuki delivered a powerful kick, destroying it.

The other three trees arrived almost at the same time. Kazuki made 3 small fireballs, each one glowed with a blue hue. Simultaneously he flicked them out and the trees lit up like lightning in the sky and by the time they reached his side they were weak enough to offer no resistance.

Triska watched this with annoyance and rage.

(That blue flame, it’s him, it’s Kazuki. So he’s come out to play but what can you do in my storm.)

Triska’s focus was taken away from the dome down below and she narrowed in on Kazuki.

(Yes, look only at me don’t pay attention to what’s beneath you.)

Kazuki took out a talisman from his storage ring and shut his eyes shut.

(Activate!)

The talisman lit up and flashed into the sky, glowing like a sun. Triska didn’t expect this and slammed her eyes shut, in fear of her eyes being melted. Kimi’s earlier attacks had left a root of fear in her.

The entire sky brightened for a split second before once more dimming to its natural.

Triska looked at Kazuki and wondered what that was all about but she didn’t notice anything out of place. This only pissed her off more.

(You dare try and play me. Let’s see how you like to be crushed.)

Triska pointed at the nearby mountain and the tornado Kazuki was trapped in headed for the rocks.

At the same time, down below, Asuna saw the light in the sky and moved into action. Grabbing handfuls of talismans she ordered everyone.

“That was the signal, Triska’s focus must be on Kazuki now, let’s hurry!”

Asuna threw hundreds of talismans out of the small hole Nunully had made and Sam and the others quickly followed. They launched them into the air all at once and the tornadoes doing their job stole them away.

Nunully pointed her staff upwards and began gathering power, while Asuna concentrated on a single talisman flying away. She watched it like a hawk and extended her arm. Her eyes began to glow purple. She couldn’t help but bite her lip, waiting for the perfect moment.

(Come on, come on. Get to the center.)

Everyone watched nervously.

The wind took the talismans up and away but that wasn’t enough for their plan. They needed one talisman in particular to reach the center. As the rotations went it was only a matter of time before the talisman ended up there but, the question was, could Kazuki hold up.

As the tornado crashed into the side of the mountain, part of its power was weakened for a moment. This was just what Kazuki needed. As a tree came sweeping by, he controlled his strength and punched into it, grabbing on. He flipped his body over and hugged the tree. He climbed partway up it and anticipated the incoming crash.

As he and this tree were about to crash into the side of the mountain, Kazuki waited for the last moment and jumped away.

*Crash*

The tree splintered and exploded as it collided with the side of the mountain while Kazuki leaped away and grabbed at the rock face. His body started to slide and fall but the tornado came back in full force and began to lift him upward. Kazuki clung to the mountain with one hand and formed a fireball in the other.

He aimed at Triska and launched it forth. Triska though shook her head.

“Too late.”

The tornado caught Kazuki’s flame and whisked it up inside for a moment before causing it to dissipate. The next moment, the wind had already shaved away part of the mountain and the rock face Kazuki was on as well as dozens of large chunks were torn away from the mountain. The rock wall was now a mere boulder and was racing forth, threatening to slam into another boulder. Kazuki could only kick off from the boulder and get tossed around as the wind tumbled him about.

*Bang*

The boulders crashed into one another and exploded, sending debris flying everywhere. Kazuki couldn’t avoid all of it and shielded his face with his arms. These tiny jagged rocks weren’t too deadly but they still cut his face up and left many scars on his armor.

The wind threw him about and made him flip and spin all over. Kazuki had to do his best to focus on one focal point or he would have become dizzy long ago.

Triska chuckled in delight.

*Bwahahaha*

“Good, this is such a nice show. After I kill you, no one else here can threaten me.”

Although the wind was roaring in Kazuki’s ear, Triska’s voice sounded as though she were right next to him. She did this to taunt her prey like a cat cornering a mouse. unfortunately for her, Kazuki was no mouse.

Kazuki was slammed into the side of a boulder. Kazuki felt something in his chest almost break but he endured.

(This armor saved my life but it’s already starting to fall apart.)

Kazuki’s eyes darted around and to his dismay, he could see a large chunk of the talismans were scattered near the top of the tornadoes.

(Not good, they have to come down some. They have to get to the center.
If the talismans activate at the top of the tornadoes then all the ice that materializes could be thrown off and not come together. They needed to be drawn to the center in order for the tornadoes to break.)

Kazuki looked at Triska still floating near the center and a thought hit him.

(If she’s maintaining these then she must need a high amount of concentration. She seems capable of trash-talking and still keeping this power going so I have to really provoke her and draw her focus away, but how?)

Kazuki knew he couldn’t get any more help from Nunully and the others, he was on his own out here. He thought about the many ways he could provoke her but none of them seemed as though they would work.

(Damn, I don’t have time to think, I just have to try.)

“OI! TRISKA! YOU FUCKING BITCH! COME OVER HERE AND FACE ME!”

It was already difficult to breathe in the middle of this storm but now Kazuki had to yell out insults, causing him to be slightly light-headed. Trying to scream at the top of your lungs and breath in almost felt similar to altitude sickness.

Triska saw Kazuki’s complexion worsening and took his insults as his last-ditch effort but she wasn’t buying it. To fight Kazuki in close combat, she definitely held the advantage right now but she knew it would only take a single blow from Kazuki to kill her. His blue flame was that dangerous and she was no fool. All she needed to do was wait him out and he would either be crushed by the mountain of debris or he might possibly suffocate at this rate. Either way, she could be patient, she had time.

All she had to do is wait.

( He’s trying to get under my skin, does he really think I’ll close the gap and engage up close. Sure I might be able to kill him but why risk it. Thakriss should arrive soon along with Castion and then I will have reinforcements. After that, Degra’s time will have come and his all will become mine.)

“TRISKA YOU HAVE ONE CHANCE TO SURRENDER TO ME! TAKE IT AND I WILL SPEAR YOU!”

Kazuki tried threats as well but it still didn’t work. Kazuki grabbed at the boulder he was flying on and twisted with his strength. A large fist-sized rock was torn off. Kazuki bit his thumb and drew something on it in a flash before chucking it at Triska.

Triska didn’t know what he did but felt it was another childish attempt to provoke her. Her sword appeared in her hand and she casually slashed away.

*Bang*

Triska barely used any strength and the rock shattered but as soon as it did, the inscription Kazuki wrote in blood activated.

*FWSHHHHH!*

A small blue flame seemingly jumped out of it and raced toward Triska. Triska was shocked by this and tried to bat the flame away with her sword but the flame pierced through it as though the sword was butter and barely slowed.

Triska sucked in a large breath and the flame came ever closer. Just as it was about to land upon her face her power had gathered and she roared at the flame in front of her.

“HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!”

The flame slowed and stopped in front of her instantly but her power wasn’t done. Her mighty bellow destroyed the blue flame in one go and the wind from her breath continued forth and crashed into Kazuki.

Kazuki had been standing but as soon as her breath hit him, his entire body buckled and he was slammed into the boulder once more.

*BAM!*
