The rift in the sky sealed shut and Glacious turned away.
“Etora, what are you going to do with him?”
Glacious pointed at a confused Kazuki.
Etora smiled but didn’t say anything.
“Fine, keep your secrets.”
Glacious looked at the ruined mountains and released a small sigh.
*Haaa*
Shutting his eyes for a moment, power began to flow all around him. Kazuki had felt his pressure earlier when Glacious got mad but this was slightly different. It was heavy but there was no threat within it, no violence. Glacious opened his eyes and a green power glowed within his hands. He spread his fingers out one by one as though he were gripping something before overturning his hands and lifting them above his head. With a mighty shout, he willed his power forth.
“RISE!”
All at once, for miles around, every mountain that Garn had flattened just before, began to reform. Rocks, boulders, debris, all of it started to quake and tremble and roll about, reconnecting to one another. Tumbling upwards, defying gravity, the rocks formed together and reshaped themselves at Glacious’s will. Several rocks became a single large one and then several of these bigger ones fused with one another becoming boulders. Boulders fused with other boulders and so on and so forth.
From a small pile to a small mound of formations. From a large hill, these creations piled up more and more. Higher and higher they stretched up into the sky growing faster than before. Kazuki was left awed. Within around a single minute, every mountain within Glacious’s sight had completely reformed and been reshaped according to his will. The only thing missing was all of the snow but with a simple snap of his fingers.
*FWHOOSH!*
The storm raging blizzard that had been dispersed by Garn when he first attacked had once more appeared. Snow fell out of the sky rapidly and a blanket of white-coated the newly made mountains. The snow spread everywhere except where Glacious and the others floated by him.
“Good, just the way I like it.”
Etora had an expression of pure admiration but Glacious couldn’t stand that look.
“Stop staring at me like that little brother, others would think your thoughts are strange.”
Etora shook his head.
“No, big brother is still amazing as always. I would give anything to be able to create like this. If I could use magic the way you do, nothing in this world would be able to stop me.”
“Funny, right now I’d much rather have a body such as yours. I’d give up all my magic at this very moment for an ability such as yours.”
Etora looked away hearing that and whispered.
“Sorry.”
Glacious hit him in the shoulder before ruffling his short silver hair.
“Little dummy, it’s not your fault what happened to me.”
Kazuki heard this exchange and felt nostalgia.
(This is so similar to me and my brother.)
Etora chuckled lightheartedly but before long they both remembered Kazuki’s presence and so a lost look on his face and the two felt the atmosphere become odd for a second.
Glacious cleared his throat.
*Ahem*
“Anyway, let go home. We have more company now, things will be interesting at least.”
Glacious once again grabbed at the air and pulled.
A rift formed in front of him and he stepped inside. Using his power he dragged both Etora and Kazuki through before the rift sealed and the mountain range returned to a desolate, lifeless frozen land.
Kazuki felt a pull on his insides and a familiar sensation. It was the same feeling he got when teleporting from worlds. Like something held him in place and took his control away.
The feeling had only lasted a second before Kazuki’s vision was filled with light. Shielding his face for a moment, his sight adjusted and he looked around him.
Still floating in the air, Kazuki saw a large valley laid out before him. Filled with grass and flowers, this valley was fully covered with life. Trees and farmland as far as the eye could see. Small animals that looked like sheep grazed all over freely. Birds flew about, gliding on the wind, chirping their daily songs with one another. A large cascading waterfall spilling out of the side of a cliff, led to a stream with a shimmering surface as the sun shone down on it. The air smelled like the first days of summer and the weather was warm with a cool breeze every now and again.
Kazuki for a moment thought he had died and gone to heaven. However, thinking about death brought about an awful feeling as he remembered Nunully and the others.
Glacious slowly descended and brought the two down with him. As his feet just barely touched the ground, a loud shout rang out from far off.
“KAZUKI!”
Kazuki thought his ears had betrayed him as he looked out into the distance. Several hundred feet away, Kazuki saw her.
“KAZUKI!”
Nunully shouted at the top of her lungs as she raced forward. Her small feet couldn’t take her fast enough though and she grew frustrated. Waving her staff, a path of ice formed underneath her. Picking her up, it slid her forward at a fast speed. Kazuki as well ran forward and the two met within seconds, though Nunully hadn’t exactly thought about how to slow down and she ended up tackling Kazuki to the ground.
Kazuki was extremely weak from Garn’s torture so when Nunully hit him, he could only fall over with her on top. Nunully held Kazuki tight and began to cry with all her heart. Tears streamed down her face and soaked Kazuki’s clothes in no time. Through the onslaught of tears, Nunully mumbled out.
“I…I thought, you were dead. Why did you do that, why did you leave me?”
Kazuki didn’t know what to say. Rubbing her head gently he could only mutter.
“I’m sorry.”
Glacious walked over and stood next to Kazuki and Nunully. Staring down at the girl, Glacious looked back at Etora and Etora smiled as though he already knew.
“Little brother, why is my godchild holding this boy? What is this odd situation?”
Etora rubbed the back of his head and laughed.
“Hahaha, I just found out moments ago that they knew one another. Before I could say anything to you, you were already taring holes in the sky to confront Garn. This boy here is a friend of your godchild or rather a little more then friends as we can see.”
Kazuki and Nunlly finally stood up and Nunully refused to let him go, hooking her arm around his as tight as she could.
Etora smiled more and more at the interesting couple but Glacious continued to stare at Etora with a face that said explain the rest little dummy but before Etora could start, another shout rang out.
“Big Bro.”
Little Mei came racing over at her fastest speed possible. She, just like Nunully didn’t consider brakes and just like Nunully, Mei hug tackled Kazuki and Kazuki went flying out of Nunully’s grip.
*OOOFFF*
Kazuki felt the wind knocked out of him and groaned. Mei on the other hand just like Nunully began to bawl her eyes out while wiping her face in his shirt. Mei’s crying was a little worse though because along with tears came snot bubbles. She didn’t have anywhere to get rid of them so she blew them into his shirt. Kazuki was weakened from before but then Nunully tackled him, weakening him further, and then with Mei’s tackle, Kazuki was barely hanging on by a thread.
Kazuki held her close and rubbed her head as well.
“Big bro, I thought I thought.”
“It’s ok, I’m fine.”
Nunully began to feel a bit jealous watching this scene but seeing Mei’s miserable state with all the snot, Nunully also felt embarrassed.
(Did I look like that just now.)
Nunully only now noticed Glacious and Etora and her face became red from embarrassment.
(Oh my god they saw.)
Nunully didn’t know what to do and quickly bowed and stuttered out.
“G…Godfather. Tha…Thank you for saving Kazuki!”
Glacious rubbed his chin.
“Oh, you already know I’m your godfather.”
Nunully nodded up and down which given her bowing state, made her look like a chicken pecking at grain on the ground.
“Mother explained it all to me just now.”
Kazuki finally managed to catch his breath and asked in surprise.
“Lamia, your mother is here?”
Nunully smiled.
“Yes, not just her but the others as well. Glacious, ah, I mean godfather saved us all. and brought us to this place.”
Kazuki looked between Glacious and Nunully.
“Everyone’s safe?”
Nunully nodded earnestly.
“Everyone’s safe. We did it Kazuki, we made it to the Rin mountain range and we’re fine.”
Kazuki felt something hot run down his cheek and he couldn’t help but rub his eyes over and over again. Mei sat up on Kazuki’s chest and uttered in disbelief.
“Eh, big bro am I heavy? Don’t cry don’t cry, Mei will get off you.”
“Dammit!”
Kazuki grabbed Mei by the waist and tossed her as high as he could into the air. Mei was shocked but when she came back down, Kazuki caught her and did it again. Her shock turned into excitement and playful delight as she laughed wildly.
“Hahahaha, higher big bro higher!”
Even though his body was in pain, even though tears continuously fell from his face, Kazuki had the biggest smile of his life.
(They’re all safe. I’m so glad. Danny, are you watching? we made it.)
