Shin looked at things differently and recalled something.

(Tilly and Glacious both mentioned something about these golems having a core. That should be its weakness. The question is where is this big bitch hiding its core. Is it the stomach, the chest, or maybe inside its head? let’s have a look at your insides you lump of rocks.)

Shin kicked out three more wind blades, each one aimed at three precise locations.

*Shiii Chtt Crkkk*

The golem did not resist or raise a defense in the slightest and was struck in the stomach chest and head in quick succession. Large chunks of rock broke off and fell to the ground and just as Shin thought, a spherical emerald in color round object sat inside the golem’s chest. It glowed with a dim green light but just as quickly as it was spotted, the rocks that had been cut off started to tumble and roll back up the golem, regenerating it in seconds.

(Right dead center in its chest holds the core. That has to be its weakness.)

The golem slowly trudged towards the tree line after it was attacked as though it were fleeing.

(Hmph, is it trying to escape? Not today.)

Shin flew a little lower and gave chase. His speed was nothing to snuff at and he appeared a few feet away from the golem in no time.

“Don’t try and run! Let’s end this!”

Shin kicked out two more viper whips. He was going to preserve energy in the beginning but since he found the golems weakness he changed his mind and decided to finish things right here and now.

Just as the wind blades were about to strike the golem’s back, the golem did something Shin didn’t expect.

It turned and threw a punch. This in itself wouldn’t be considered much but the golem didn’t just throw a punch. The creature actually threw its entire arm. Its whole arm and fist detached from its large body and flew forward. Shin though was calm. His two wind blades met the arm and fist and destroyed it, reducing it into dust.

“Hmph, this cloud of dust won’t hide you.”

Shin flew directly into the dust cloud and prepared to send out another viper whip when the golem’s yellow jewel-like eyes glowed.

Shin could sense a change as he felt the wind on his skin move towards him instead of away. The dust that he had just entered, moved by itself, and clung to his clothes and started pulling him forward for some reason.

Shin couldn’t see anything around him due to all the dust in the air and with the pull from the dust, he knew something was wrong.

(I’m being pulled down to the ground!)

*CRUNCH*

Shin heard a loud strange noise and decided to not wait and find out what it was. He gathered his power into a fist and punched outward as fast as possible. A torrent of wind surrounded his fist and shot out, pushing all the dust away from him, clearing his vision. As soon as the dust was gone, Shin became horrified.

His vision that had just been cleared was suddenly filled with a tree. The golem had ripped a tree from its roots and swung it at Shin like an enlarged baseball bat.

Shin had no time to escape and threw up a barrier of wind around his entirety.

*Bam!*

The tree met Shin’s barrier of wind and knocked him away. Shin crashed into a tree and bounced off of it and was knocked directly into another one and then another one. He rebounded off of several trees like a pinball machine before he could finally regain his balance in the air. As soon as he did though, a tree reappeared within his vision again, this time from above.

The golem had somehow appeared directly in front of Shin and swung down the tree in its hands with ease. Once more Shin had no time to escape and focused fully on maintaining his barrier around him.

*Bang!*

Shin and his barrier sunk two feet into the ground. Shin was fine but his barrier was destroyed from that blow. The golem once more raised the tree high above its head.

(FUCKKKKKKKK!)

Shin gathered his energy and shot wind out from the bottom of his feet while at the same time kicking off the ground.

*WHOOOSH*

His body blurred and he ran ahead.

(This thing isn’t faster than me. I refuse to believe it!)

Shin jumped at a tree in front of him and kicked off of it, sending himself flying toward the golem’s back. The golem’s head rotated a full 180 degrees and its yellow jewel-like eyes watched every single one of Shin’s movements. It then took the tree in its hand and tossed it toward Shin’s left side.

Shin jumped to the left.

(When I see it coming beforehand it ain’t hard to dodge.)

Just as he said that both of his feet touched the ground and he tripped and fell on his ass. He looked at the ground in surprise. Underneath him and all around him, tiny little pebbles were scattered everywhere. The tiny pebbles then started to roll forward. When Shin looked up, the golem stood directly in front of him and towered over him. One hand already raised high above its head and the pebbles formed larger rocks and regenerated the golem’s other hand. Both hands were already clasped together and formed something akin to a gigantic sledgehammer and were already swinging down toward Shin’s head.

Just before they landed, Shin shouted at the top of his lungs.

“I GIVE UP! STOP!”

Shin’s eyes slammed shut as he expected a lot of pain but the pain never came. Opening his eyes, the golem’s hands stopped only a few inches above his head. A tiny pebble fell from the golem’s hands and tapped Shin on the head and he stared at it dumbfoundedly.

Glacious nodded.

“So it seems you’ve lost young Shin.”

Shin had nothing to say but he couldn’t understand how the golem had appeared so suddenly.

Glacious snapped his fingers and commanded.

“You’re done here, go gather more medicinal plants for my cauldron.”

A voice similar to stones being ground together echoed out from the golem.

“Ye…s…Mas….terrrr.”

The eyes of the golem glowed once more and its body sunk into the ground and it disappeared before Shin’s eyes. A moment later it reappeared a hundred feet away. It came out of the ground and slowly walked into the forest, dragging a large bag behind it in tow.

Shin watched this, completely astonished.

(It traveled through the ground, and so fast.)

Shin jumped to his feet and began to complain now that he realized how the golem moved.

“Senior, how is that fair? You didn’t tell me that thing could move underground! When it’s underground it’s just as fast as me if not faster, not cool.”

Glacious shook his head.

“Unfair. There’s no such thing in a fight and if you think there is, then yous an idiot. Have you never heard the saying strike fast, strike hard, no mercy.”

Shin stared blankly for a moment before he murmured.

“Cobra Kai.”

Glacious tilted his head questioningly.

“Cobra what now? Anyway, the point is, there is no fair. You accepted the fight even though you knew nothing about your opponent. You assumed because of my golems size that it was slow. You also assumed that because you were flying and hovering in the air, that you were safe but we all saw how that turned out. Your guard was lowered or your attention was elsewhere. Had this been real, you would be dead several times over. To still come up with excuses even after having your faults on full display before your own eyes are pathetic, to say the least.”

Shin grit his teeth in frustration but he knew every word Glacious said was the truth, still, this feeling of bitterness was unpleasant.

Both Asuna and Kimi smirked watching this but the very next moment Glacious snapped and 4 more golems came out of nowhere.

“Now that Shin is done we can continue. You four let’s not waste precious time, fight.”

Kimi’s hand was thrown up and she asked.

“Senior, why do we have to fight!?”

Glacious looked at her as if she were stupid.

“Seriously, did you not ask to be trained? Did you and young Sam not wish to traverse the Feya continent unimpeded. How can you do so if you do not know how to fight hand to hand. You must be able to handle such situations efficiently and effectively. This is also part of the training. Now no more questions or I’ll start to become annoyed. Golem’s, fight those four humans!”

All at once in sync, all four golems replied with garbled and harsh voices.

“Ye…s…Mas…terrrr.”

This was how their training went for days, and then weeks. Sunrise, sunset, their training continued.

A young boy stood in the center of the city square and shouted at the top of his lungs trying to sell his newspapers.

“SEVEN MORE TOWNS HAVE DISAPPEARED ENTIRELY OF PEOPLE! WHAT MYSTERIOUS CURSE HAUNTS THESE LANDS AND ARE WE SAFE!? WHY HAS KING GARN RETREATED INTO HIS PALACE AND NOT MADE AN APPEARANCE FOR MONTHS!? IS THE KINGDOM OF TREYA DOOMED!? BUY A PAPER AND FIND OUT WHAT THE EXPERTS HAVE TO SAY!”
