Two weeks had passed since Glacious gave out treasures. As Etora hadn’t yet made it back Kazuki and the others got a bit more time to relax. Because of this, every day they would either be practicing with their new magic items or Kazuki, Asuna and Nunully would go on a few dates. In between that, Asuna and Nunully would have matches in volleyball. Asuna had already loved the game beforehand but Nunully who had just been introduced became obsessed.

During one evening while everyone was chatting happily and eating dinner, Glacious abruptly stood up.

“It seems little brother has finally come back. Took him long enough.”

Glacious excused himself and stepped outside. Everyone was interested so they all followed along as well. Tilly especially had a grin when she learned of Etora’s return.

Standing outside his home, Glacious grabbed at the empty sky. A tear in space opened up. On the other side, a massive blizzard was swirling uncontrollably. Cold air crept in through the tear before a lone figure jumped through.

The very next moment, the crack in space was sealed and the cold pervading air dissipated in no time.

Etora landed heavily on the ground and shook his body, causing a pile of snow to fall off of his wide shoulders.

“Big brother, little sister, I’m back.”

Etora returned with a wide smile. Before he could get his bearings though, Little Mei jumped at him, in excitement.

“Mr. Wolf is back yay!”

She was a little too excited though and used far too much strength when she jumped. SO instead of leaping into his chest, she continued ascending upward and her forehead promptly met his with a loud…

*Thud*

Etora was completely unfazed by this but Mei, on the other hand, fell unconscious and Etora caught her.

“Hmm, that was an interesting greeting. I don’t hate it though. Mei…Mei.”

Etora’s eyes went wide in horror as he thought he had just killed Mei. Tsura though walked over, took a look at little Mei, and sighed before carefully taking her into her arms and carrying her into the house.

“She’s fine. I’ll take her inside and look after this clumsy wild potato of mine.”

There was no surprise on anyone’s face, rather they were curious as to how such an incident didn’t happen sooner. They weren’t too worried either, this was Mei they were talking about. She would be up in no time.

Lamia went on her tippy toes and Etora bent down slightly. She then very sisterly pat the snow off of Etora’s head with a warm smile.

“Big brother, you were only supposed to be gone for a week, yet it took you two. With your speed, this should be impossible. Tell me, were you not playing around outside? Fufufu, just how many female wolves did you mount?”

Etora chuckled.

*Haah*

“Little sis you tease me too much, how can any wolves of this world tame my heart. Besides they’re all so tiny, they run away every time they see my handsome figure, hehehe.”

Everyone shared a laugh except Glacious.

“Little brother, little sister is right. What took you so long, tell me, has something happened?”

Etora’s smile faded.

“Things have gone downhill like you wouldn’t believe big bro.”

Etora went on to explain how things had gotten bad on the Feya continent. He mentioned a new weapon ad been created called a magic cannon. It had come from the kingdom of Maoudou. The weapon had spread to all the countries that could afford them. Once they found out about its power, war’s started to break out one after another.

“Little brother, how could war just break out, weren’t they all pretty peaceful with one another? Surely war wouldn’t just happen just because they gained a new weapon, right?”

Etora shrugged.

“I’m not that smart big brother but I can just tell you the rumors I heard. Apparently, after something called the Mirrian swamp incident, millions of beasts and Magical beasts fled from there and spread out, invading into Treia as well as all the other surrounding territories. Many kingdoms sent their forces to eliminate these beasts which caused a mass amount of destruction and loss. Not only that, Garn seemed to stop caring and did not do much to protect the smaller countries. Something happened in the kingdom of Jin and they lost a great number of soldiers and citizens. After that, The young King of Maoudou came to a deal with the King of Jin, and then the young King Brian swept through Jin, destroying the beast with ease. In return, a large portion of Jin territory was given to the young King Brian.”

“Little brother, what does beast attacking humans have to do with the humans turning on one another?”

“Big bro, It’s all really weird. After all of that went down and the magic cannons spread about to other countries, the countries noticed something. With nearly all the beasts eliminated or hiding, all the smaller countries had suffered greatly and had been weakened tremendously. With the season changing and food supplies shrinking, there’s little time to regrow and refill their storage. Seeing weakened sheep on all sides, it was only a matter of time before the first shot was fired. How many times does a country have an opportunity to expand its power, its territory? A faithful holy priest would be tempted, let alone a king of a tiny country.”

“Surprisingly what you say makes sense little brother.”

“What! I know a few things no need to be shocked.”

Glacious began to think about the path this would all lead to.

“What of the three great kingdoms. Are they not doing anything to prevent this chaos?”

Etora shook his head.

“As far as I know, the kingdom of Jin was greatly upset with losing a third of its country to the young King of Maoudou. Though they signed it over willingly to save themselves from the beast horde, it was still a great loss. When all the smaller countries started attacking each other, the kingdom of Jin was the first great kingdom to step in and start trampling the smaller countries. In return, the smaller countries could only come together and form an alliance and they began to fight back together against the kingdom called Jin. The battles have become worse and worse and both sides have received mass casualties. Both sides were forced to conscript soldiers and the fighting has gotten worse and worse. After I got everything that you needed big bro I decided to come back. The last thing I heard was that Garn was still refusing to step in and fight as he was working on a new weapon. That, and that King brian of Maoudou was only now starting to move his armies.”

“So Garn’s working on a new toy for me to break and this young King Brian of Maoudou is quite crafty.”

“Brian is?”

“Yes, It’s no coincidence that war breaks out soon after new weapons from his country are introduced and spread throughout the world. From what you said little brother, Jin signed over a third of its territory to this young King but to take such a loss, what face did they have. Then they see the light with a new weapon delivered at their feet as well as plenty of sheep that are fighting themselves. Jin’s greed may have sent itself towards its own destruction or rather this King Brian set it all up from the start. It’s weird though, Garn has locked himself away to make a new weapon. This doesn’t seem like the Garn of the past. The Garn I know would not have stood for the death of so many innocent lives. Though after what Young Kazuki and the others have told me of Garn, he has definitely changed.”

Hearing about Garn, Kimi’s stub began to ache. If not for him sending Muteki and his squad, her arm would still be attached to her body.

“That asshole doesn’t care about people, only power.”

Kimi said that with venom before she turned and stormed back inside, Sam quickly caught up with her to take care of her.

Everyone had similar thoughts about Garn and wished he’d just die already. Because of him, all of them had to remain in Glacious’s tiny world. Not that they disliked Glacious’s world but being here, they could not truly be free, and that in itself made things suffocating sometimes. It was hard to complain though as Glacious’s tiny world was close to a paradise. Clean air, fresh crystal clear water, and delicious food that could be picked off nearly every tree. To relax in such a peaceful environment was heaven compared to being hunted in the outside world with the threat of death constantly looming over you.

Etora handed the ingredients to Glacious and Glacious checked the contents of the bag.

“This will do nicely.”

Etora then handed a separate bag to Tilly, which drew Glacious curiosity.

“That bag?”

Etora smiled.

“This, oh Tilly just asked me to gather a few things for her. Don’t worry, I didn’t spend big bro’s money on any of this stuff.”

Glacious ignored Etora and his yellow eye glowed dimly, not enough to be noticed by anyone. Doing this, he was able to peer directly through the bag and see all of the items within.

(Hmm, a few items for space magic, and the rest basically seems to be junk. Why does the old woman want those?)

Glacious lost interest right there and then and while still ignoring Etora’s babbling, he walked past the others and went back inside.

“Little brother, we were just in the middle of dinner, come eat.”

Etora licked his lips and his body flashed forward, disappearing in an instant.

You didn’t have to tell him twice to have a meal. Everyone headed in and headed for the dining area, well everyone except Tilly. She excused herself and parted ways with everyone, heading to Glacious’s workshop. A wide grin hung on her face, the whole way there.
