Tilly flew through the forest as fast as possible. Even though she knew it would be best to slow down by even just a tiny bit, she couldn’t help but rush forward with excitement pumping in her blood. She soon landed on a branch and peered down at a large golem.

In the surrounding area’s there were a few more golems busying them selfs, gathering herbs and medicinal plants as well as animals and other ingredients. Tilly cautiously took in her surroundings, seeing nothing out of place, she went into action.

She quickly retrieved the items Etora had gotten for her from her storage ring. First, there were several black flags. Each one had dozens of complex inscriptions etched in magical gold all over them. Taking one, she stabbed it as deeply as she could into the ground before grabbing a short mallet and hitting the flag into further into the ground. Once it was set, she then moved 50 feet away and repeated this action. Moving another 50 feet away, she again hammered a flag into the ground.

Her movements circled the Golem in a wide are. Eventually, a large circle made up of the flags formed around the golem. A staff was already in Tilly’s hand at this moment. She bit her lower lip as hesitation loomed overhead.

(That old dragon might really kill me if I go through with this but how can I stop now. The information, the breakthroughs and discovery just lying within this golem, how can I not study it? How can I just let such technology rot inside this tiny world? It should be shared with the outside, the benefits this will give to humanity, I can’t let it stay buried in such a place, even at the wraith of Glacious. I simply take the Magic core, run to a place he can not go, and hideaway there until I uncover all of the magic cores secrets. After I know all that I can and share such knowledge, I’ll gladly return here for my death if he so wishes it.)

Tilly threw away all of her hesitations and aimed her staff at the back of the peaceful golem.

Power surged within her staff and her eyes began to glow.

“Cannon Force!”

*SHREEEEE*

The ear screeched and a high pitch noise rang out followed by a large sphere of wind.

*BANG!*

The sphere of wind landed upon the golems back and completely obliterated a large chunk of it’s back and its entire right arm. The stone and rocks that made up its body were nothing compared to Tilly’s most powerful attack. This was an attack that could shred through a thick metal wall as though it was barely there, let alone a regular stone golem.

The force from Tilly’s wind magic didn’t just end there. It continued forth, crushing and shattering dozens of trees into something resembling sawdust before it was finally reduced in power and hit a nearby boulder with a loud thump.

Tilly pointed her staff at the golem and waited for what was to come. A barrier of wind was already up and protecting her. The golem slowly stood up. Instead of turning its entire body, only it’s head swiveled 180 degrees and the yellow jewels it had for eyes, began to shine dangerously.

The large chunk blasted off from its back and its shattered arm, the pieces of rubble that were scattered on the ground began to roll about and climb up the golem’s body, defying gravity. Its body began to reintegrate the small pieces and it regenerated. This all happened in only a few seconds.

The very next moment it recognized Tilly now not as a guest but as a threat. Before Tilly could make a move, the golem sank underneath the ground and traversed the distance between the two nearly instantly.

*Schink Schink Schink Schink*

Four spikes made from stone erupted from below her, threatening to pierce her. Tilly had expected this though and with her barrier up, the speed and power of the protruding spikes were cut shave din half, still, the managed to make it through her barrier, and Tilly could only leap into the sky and take flight.

The golem rose up and out of the ground and aimed a fist at Tilly before its entire arm detached and came flying at her face.

Tilly had watched Kazuki and the others face off against the Golems far too many times to count. She had observed the golems with an unusual obsession and studied their every move. By this time she had discovered a certain pattern, a way of fighting, that these golems stuck to. These golems were beyond complex but the way they did things were simple or rather they could only do a certain number of things.

Tilly concluded, these were instructions they were created with. Nothing too complex but just enough so they would not be a burden on whoever made them. Tilly theorized they could only perform a set amount of actions because there was a limit to how many inscriptions were embedded on their Magic cores and too many things may interrupt their basic functionality. With that in mind, she recognized the golem’s movement and knew what the next few moves would be.

First, she dealt with the arm flying at her. A torrent of wind rushed up to her side and flew forward, intercepting the arm mid-air. Surrounding it with the torrent of wind, she captured the arm in a reverse barrier of wind. Her barrier of wind could keep things out by rotating quickly around her well the reverse was the opposite and could prevent things from leaving it.

Followed by the arm being launched at her, Till ascended higher just in time to see a tree fly beneath her followed by another and another.

(This thing really is following a pattern. If it can’t land a blow from a sneak attack underground and then the opponent takes flight it will launch an arm at the enemy. If the arm fails to hit its target, the golem then uproots some trees and chuck them like a spear. Perfect.)

Tilly dove downward, the golem’s arm in tow. As she gained speed, the golem stopped uprooting trees and instead aimed another arm at her. Just as it was about to launch it, Tilly yelled.

“Cannon Force!”

A large sphere of shrieking wind, bigger than a head, shot forward and blew off the other arm, reducing it to dust. Tilly flew toward the golem who now had no arms. and acted as though she would ram into the golem, the Golem lifted a foot intending to kick her in the face but Tilly suddenly stopped mid-flight and ducked. At the same time, the arm that she had flown behind her in tow, continued to race forward and took out the last standing leg.

The golem lost its balance and fell onto the ground. Tilly then moved to a certain spot and raised her staff once more. The golem gathered it’s broken pieces and quickly regenerated. It then sunk into the ground ad raced straight for Tilly. As soon as it was beneath her, Tilly smiled and stamped her staff onto the ground.

*Bam*

A wave of energy rippled outward and touched upon every flag at the same time. In turn, the inscriptions upon the flags lit up all at once. Just as the golem was going to launch another sneak attack from below, its body stopped moving entirely.

Tilly heaved out a heavy breath.

“I should really exercise more. I barely moved about and now I feel tired. Hehe, who cares though, now that I have you.”

Tilly gently pat the ground beneath her feet lovingly.

“Rise.”

Tilly controlled the flags and each one began to move in a specific order. At the same time, the golem that was underground slowly rose up until it’s large body was suspended in the air. Purple energy flowed from flag to flag as well as though the golem. It danced like arcs of lightning between the golem and the flags constantly.

Tilly pointed her staff at the golem and the purple energy forced the golem to move on its own. It was now completely regenerated and Tilly used the purple energy to take hold of the golem’s body like a puppet master. She waved her staff and the golem slowly lifted both of its hands and gripped it’s own head.

*CRUNCH*

With its powerful grip, it shattered its own head. Seeing nothing inside though Tilly snorted before waving her staff once more.

The golem once again moved its hands towards its chest. The golem’s hands transformed into spikes and it drove them into its own chest and carved itself open exposing its Magic core.

“Yes!”

Tilly ran over and admired the Magic core. To make one, one needs extensive knowledge and a powerful source of energy. This core before her was made from a mana crystal. Tilly reached out and grabbed the core and pulled it out of the golems open and exposed chest. She held it there and felt a pulse of power. Looking over the thousands of complex and intricate inscriptions, she could understand none of them and this only caused her to become even more intrigued and consumed by it.

(It’s mine, my precious.)

Tilly heard a noise nearby and quickly stored the magic core in her ring. As soon as she did, all the rocks and stones that made up the golem collapsed and feel away.

Mei walked out from behind a nearby tree.

“Ah, old lady, what are you doing here. What was that thing you took from the rock man?”

Tilly feigned innocence.

“Hmm, oh that, nothing much. As to what I’m doing here, well I became a little lost, hehe.”

Mei tilted her head in confusion.

“Lost, but the house is only a few miles that way and you can fly. How could you become lost?”

Tilly took out a bottle and swigged it before wiping her mouth with her shirt sleeve and then slurring her words slightly.

“Yer knw I wass jusst walking round and decited to drink up a wittle. Ya knw ur not suppoce ta drinnk n fly, isss dangerous. What bout u, what cha doing out er?”

Mei went quiet for a moment and Tilly was worried she saw through her but the very next moment, Mei pouted and complained.

“Mr wolf is taking too much time to help big sis Nunully. He’s supposed to also help me breakthrough and become a Sky beast but by the time he gets done helping big sis, it will already be night time. I got bored waiting around there and decided to go look for something tasty to snack on. That’s when I heard a loud bang and followed it over here. You were fighting the rock man, why?”

Tilly swallowed hard before something came to her. She quickly pulled out a red-colored fruit from her storage ring and waved it about.

“I gos bored too when I wus lost so I fought wit da rock man for a little fun. Plz don’t tell Glacious about the rock man, ya knw how mad he getz when u mess up his stuffs. If ya dont tell, i’ll give u this yummy treat.”

Mei’s eyes went wide and she had to wipe her drool away as she nodded rapidly.

“I promise I promise, I won’t tell Mr dragon no matter what, so can I have that now!”

Tilly smiled inwardly and tossed the fruit over.

Mei caught it but before she could take a bite, Tilly asked her.

“Shouldn’t ya get back now? Wut if Etoro already finished with Nene, won’t ya be missin out on gettin stronger?”

Mei jumped hearing that and before Tilly could convince her even more, Mei had already taken off into the skies, the fruit already in her mouth.

Tilly almost broke out into cold sweat.

(There’s no time to waste. I need to leave right now.)

Tilly took out the rest of the things Etora brought her. Glacious hadn’t cared that the items she had could manipulate space. Had he known what Tilly intended to use them for, he might have already dealt with her.

Tilly rearranged the flags in a certain pattern and set the rest of the items on three certain spots within the circle. The items were Stazar void rocks. With these rocks, she could stabilize or destabilize space. With them, you can also teleport things to and fro and even bend space to a certain degree. These rocks were filled with space elements and were not the easiest things to come by yet Etora had managed to get three of them for her.

(Thankyou Etora, hehehe.)

Tilly activated the flags once more and in turn, the Stazar void rocks within the circle began to pulsate and vibrate, releasing purple energy into the surroundings. Soon the triangle formation she had put the stazar void rocks was filled with this purple energy and a tear in space formed in front of her.

Tilly smiled as she could see the base of the Rin mountain range through the crack in space.

(Thanks for the harvest Glacious, if only you would have just given the magic core over freely. I’m sorry everyone.)

Tilly said nothing and threw away any guilt and stepped through the crack in space.

—————————————————————————-

Appearing on the other side Tilly didn’t even look back as the tear in space closed behind her. She gingerly rubbed the storage ring on her finger, a feeling of euphoria filling her up. She was just about to take to the sky when a tall figure suddenly grabbed her.

Tilly’s face went pale.

“You!”
