“Kazuki!”
Kazuki’s eyes snapped open. He sat up with a start and saw Asuna trying to awaken him.
“Asuna, the training, we were just…?”
“Forget it! Something went wrong! Grab Sam, and Kimi, I’ll take Shin, we have to get out of here while we still can!”
*Boom*
A large chunk of rock broke off from the ceiling and crashed in front of them. The room was falling apart. Kazuki snapped awake and saw that Glacious was nowhere to be seen. Shin, Sam, and Kimi were all passed out on the floor on their mats. Kazuki did as he was told and grabbed both Sam and Kimi and Asuna snatched Shin up and they headed towards the outside at their fastest speed.
*Crack*
Several pillars broke off and crumbled, nearly crushing everyone. Kazuki kicked in front of him and shattered the pillar into tiny pieces and the two raced ahead. Room after room they raced through as the mountain threatened to come down on top of them. Their speed however was incredible and left after images in their wake. It only took a few seconds before they arrived at the large doors. Kazuki again delivered a kick and broke the door to pieces.
The two made it out with everyone in tow just before the mountain finally collapsed.
*BOOOOM!*
The sound of the mountain collapsing was similar to the sound of angry gods tossing explosions of thunder. Kazuki and the other’s eardrums would have burst had Kazuki not covered everyone with a ki barrier, protecting their ears.
Asuna directed Kazuki t follow her and the two carrying everyone else, escaped all of the flying debris and dust. Coming to an open clearing, the two could breathe a collective sigh of relief.
“Asuna what the hell happened back there and where is Glacious?”
“I don’t know. I awoke for some reason and Glacious suddenly stood up with a terrifying expression on his face. After that, he directly broke the mountain by punching through it, and then he jumped out and raced off as though he were going to slay someone.”
Shin slowly woke up and found himself in Asuna’s grasp.
“What the fuck, so you’ve finally snapped and decided to try and kill me! Well, fuck that!”
A barrier of wind surrounded Shin and expanded to nearly 10 feet all at once. The force of the expanding air threw Asuna back several feet. Shin then twisted and threw out a kick. However before he could launch a Viper Whip, Kazuki appeared in front of him and grabbed his foot, stopping him from attacking Asuna anymore.
Asuna as well teleported safely to the ground, though she did draw her steel daggers and brandished them with intent.
“Kazuki what the fuck man. I know your ass is pussy whipped but she actually just tried to kill me! You really gonna let that slide!?”
Kazuki pushed Shin back, causing him to stumble a bit.
“Stop it! The both of you! Shin, Asuna wasn’t trying to kill you, she just got done saving your ass. The mountain just came raining down on top of us. If it wasn’t for her warning me and grabbing you, we’d all be dead. Asuna you as well, put your weapons away!”
Asuna huffed but she listened. Shin as well, noticing Sam and Kimi passed out, believed Kazuki.
“Hehe, sorry about that. It’s a strange thing. To wake up in the hands of someone that’s previously threatened your life on multiple occasions, I only reacted because of who she is. If I were to wake up in Lamia’s arms though, hehehe. Well, I wouldn’t mind dying by those hands or maybe in between those thighs instead.”
Asuna and Kazuki both rolled their eyes.
“Anyway, we need to head back to the house, something must have happened for Glacious to go off like that.”
Shin and Asuna both agreed with Kazuki, a rare occurrence indeed.
Asuna grabbed Kimi and Kazuki carried Sam’s big ass body and Shin just watched.
Kazuki and the others then headed back to the house. Kazuki led the way and raced forward. He had now calmed down slightly and as he was headed back to the house, he noticed something odd. He felt a slight sting in the back of his mind.
(This pain again…?)
Gathering his ki, he sent some to his mind but he could find nothing wrong.
Arriving at the house, Kazuki’s steps paused a few feet away from the entrance. Something felt off.
“Kazuki, what’s wrong?”
Asuna stood next to him and asked but Kazuki ignored her as the pain in the back of his mind grew.
(This pain, why does it feel so familiar?)
Kazuki lowered Sam to the ground and set him down gently. He looked at Sam up and down but found nothing out of place.
“Kazuki?”
“Dude what are you doing, that’s no place for Sam to sleep.”
Kazuki turned and looked at Asuna and Shin. They sounded and looked the same as usual but for some reason they didn’t feel right.
Kazuki looked at both of his hands and focused his vision.
He had never studied either of his hands closely before but looking at them now, he noticed something. They were smooth, too smooth. Rather, there were no lines in his hands, everyone has lines in their hands but Kazuki had never bothered to pay much attention to his own hands before. Not just his hands though, but his fingertips as well, there were no fingerprints.
(My hands. These are my hands but why are there no marks.)
Kazuki had a feeling. Biting the tip of his thumb, a few drops of blood began to spill out. It flowed like normal. Kazuki then inspected it with ki but found nothing. This in turn freaked him out.
(There’s no reaction at all. I can’t feel any energy within my own blood, why? How?)
Kazuki looked at Asuna and Shin once more.
“Asuna, why did you draw your daggers instead of your golden ring that Glacious gifted you? Shin you as well, where’s your cloak? Now that I think about it, Kimi doesn’t have her bracer attached, and Sam’s Heisho armor.”
Kazuki as well didn’t have the black ruler he got from Glacious.
(For none of us to have any of the equipment we received, nor for me to feel no energy in my own blood. This is?)
Too many inconsistencies in a row.
The pain in Kazuki’s mind subsided slightly and it all came rushing back at once.
(This…The test is still going? Yes, it has to be.)
Kazuki looked at Shin and asked him.
“Shin, what is your mom’s name?”
Shin looked at Kazuki with a weird expression.
“Hmm, you know my mom’s name. Why are you asking me that?”
Kazuki shook his head.
“That’s not true and you know it. I’ve never heard you mention your mother’s name not even once. Answer me right now, what is your mother’s name?”
As soon as he asked that question, Kazuki began to think of a name in his head and as though to confirm it, Shin shrugged his shoulders and said.
“Fine, my mom’s name is Dianna. You happy Kazuki?”
Kazuki nodded.
Shin felt relieved but the very next moment Kazuki flashed forward and grabbed Shin by the neck.
Shin’s eyes widened in shock.
“Kazuki what are you…”
*Crack*
Before Shin could finish his words, Kazuki snapped his neck. He then dropped his limp body on the ground.
Asuna took a step back in fear.
“What…What have you done?”
Kazuki’s voice rang cold.
“For him to say the exact same random name I thought of on the spot. This magic room, I do believe we never left it, or rather I have yet to leave it. So many things don’t add up. The little details though, it seems this room can’t cover everything. For example, after a mountain collapses and Etora, Nunully and Mei, none of them arrive here. Even Lamia and Tilly have yet to step outside to see what’s going on. For Sam to still not awaken even though I secretly passed him some of my ki a while ago. Even you didn’t check up on Kimi your friend and not only that, you said you offered to carry Shin out of the mountain. You who despise him.”
Kazuki flashed forward and grabbed Asuna by the neck.
*Crack*
Kazuki snapped her neck in two.
“This magic room can only do this much, how pathetic. If this is all it can muster, I’m afraid I’ll never fail. Good, Let me stay in this place for longer. Let my mind grow stronger and stronger.”
As soon as he said that, his mind once more went black. The very next moment when he reopened his eyes, he was lying on a golden table. Next to him, his older brother Kai laid on a separate table, the two of them were both in chains.
Two women stepped forward. One was his sister Fera, the other his most hated mother. Kazuki couldn’t help but smile fakely at this scenario before him.
“Is this magical room sentient? Did it hear me and become insulted when I called it pathetic. Hmph, I’ve seen this exact scene in my nightmares far too many times to count and I fear it no longer. Instead of sending me to the depths of despair, you’ve only awoken my anger. Fine, give me your best you fucking pieces of shit. Let’s see what this magic room can truly do.”
—————————————————————————-
Glacious sat in the center of the magical room undisturbed as he monitored everyone. The entire room was nearly pitch black, all except a dim glow of energy that continuously rained down from the ceiling, entering Kazuki and the others at a steady yet slow rate. All seemed to be fairing well until the dim glow became slightly brighter above Kazuki and the energy flowing into him fell more rapidly.
(Hmm, It seems Kazuki’s mind is fairly strong and is putting up a decent fight. The room is going at him far harder then it is at the others. Should I manually dampen this room slightly so it doesn’t run him into the ground.)
Glacious looked at the time left in the hourglass. Two hours had passed and there was eight hours worth of sand that remained.
(I’ll just continue to watch over them. If things become chaotic, their survival instincts will kick in and they’ll remember to call out to me. I’ll help if things get out of hand.)
