Fera floated quietly across from Glacious an undisguised look of fury in her lightning eyes.

“Good, very good. I talk too much you say, fine. No more talking.”

Fera looked toward a nearby mountain and the lightning within her eyes shot out and crashed into the side of the mountain with a terrible force.

*Bang!*

The mountain was shattered.

Glacious didn’t know why she had aimed at the mountain but not even a second later and his question was answered. Large boulders big and small took to the air. At first, they seemed to scatter about randomly due to Fera’s strike but very quickly they traveled a certain path, straight toward the head in the sky. The rocks began to swirl around Fera like a tornado. One by one the boulders combined with one another, fusing together, shaping into a large figure.

A large giant formed out of rock stretched nearly 5000 feet up. Fera’s consciousness faded from the fused clouds and sunk into the newly formed giant. Lightning gathered and entered the stone giant, forming two bluish-white orbs for eyes. Fera was now the size of a small mountain but she didn’t stop there. The dusty brown faded from the surface of the boulders which made up her new body and a sheen of black coated her entirely. The boulders making up her body condensed ever so slightly and seemed to steal all the nearby light.

In the distance, Etora had led Kazuki and the others nearly 100 miles away by now but even at that distance, they took in the full sight of a giant forming from the shattered bits and debris of a mountain. They were witnessing something that most could never dare even imagine. They couldn’t help but wonder if this is what a Titan would look like.

At the same time, they could only steal a momentary glance as Etora stopped them dead in their tracks.

“Wait!”

Etora pointed not too far away from them.

“That’s the abyssal trench. We can’t go any further this way. To go around is quite a distance but we’ll have to if we wish to avoid those nasty things behind us.”

Up ahead, Kazuki could see a large crack in the ground that was several miles wide and stretched far out into the distance. To get any closer could interfere with their magic and it was best to avoid it. At the same time, Kazuki looked at the army of Azirian’s rushing at them.

Even though Kazuki and the others were far quicker, that didn’t change the fact that Azirian’s physical capabilities were above many and they weren’t far behind. By his estimates, Kazuki figured they would be upon him and his friends in less than a minute. At the same time, he wondered out loud.

“Etora, don’t you think we’ve come far enough from Glacious and Fera? At this distance, we shouldn’t be too affected by what comes. Not only that, Glacious knows not to come near this trench, otherwise, he’ll be at a disadvantage if his magic becomes unstable. He’ll want to keep the battle far away from here. Wouldn’t this make the best place to turn on our enemies? With you by our side, this army, we should be able to deal with it, no?”

Etora and the others were taken aback but at the same time, for some reason, they felt confident. There were nearly 100,000 Azirians racing toward them but thinking about it, the most problematic one would be Reya. The rest weren’t as strong as her and after training for months and months, they had become several folds stronger. Why couldn’t they take them on?

Shin smiled and agreed.

“I like Kazuki’s idea. I’m already at the 4th stage now and I need to stretch my legs a bit. Can’t you all feel it? Our strength has come so far. Tossing and turning in that cauldron of teacher’s, can any of those Azirian’s truly threaten our lives. Besides, even if none of us can face them head-on, with our speed, none of them can catch us if we decide to turn and run. Even if you guys don’t join in, I still am gonna try, hehehe.”

Asuna snorted.

“Hmpf, You just became a 4th stage Mage and it’s already gone to your head.”

Asuna gripped the golden hoop at her waist and a confident smile spread across her face.

“I don’t mind though. I as well would like to test somethings out. If you look at them closely, they don’t seem as frightful as when we first encountered Reya. Their movements, I can see them all and they all look clumsy and unorganized. I think we can win and even if we can’t, as Shin said, we can definitely outrun those ugly things.”

Etora’s first priority was getting everyone away. If they themselves didn’t wish to leave though, his priority would change. The look in his eyes changed as he exchanged a brief glance with everyone. They all were thinking the same thing. Sam’s Heisho armor gleamed with a deep green while Kimi,s bracer took on a dim glow. Nunully already had her staff in hand and Asuna’s golden hoop was already in her hand.

Etora stood at the front.

“Are you kids ready?”

Shin wrapped his cloak around his body and flew quietly into the sky he activated his cloaks ability and disappeared into the sky, his voice fading away as he vanished.

“Heheh, I’m always ready…”

Everyone else gave a nod.

“Good, let’s break these ugly creatures.”

Kazuki stood at Etora’s side and added.

“You have to crush their heads in order to kill them completely, otherwise they just regenerate and they’ll keep coming at you.”

Etora smiled, flashing a toothy grin.

“Thanks for the tip.”

As everyone stood there, prepared for battle, the ground beneath them trembled as nearly 100,000 Azirians raced across the land.

10,000 feet away. 5000, 3000, 1000. As soon as they appeared to be 4 or 500 feet away Etora took the initiative. He took a step forward and punched at the army in front of him.

*BOOOOOOOOOOM!*

A force of air was launched forward. Using just the physical strength of his body, a powerful force of wind ripped out and struck the army in front of him. 10, 20, 30, 40,000 Azirian’s exploded on contact. A rain of purplish-black blood followed by thousands of limbs came pouring down upon the battlefield. Reya and the other Azirian’s paused momentarily. They all followed her cue. Seeing such destruction in front of her, Doubt entered her mind. Not even a second later though, blood raced across the battlefield and the 40,000 Azirian’s that was just reduced to pulp, nearly 80% of them began to rise back up.

Etora’s attack hadn’t done as much damage as Reya initially thought and this lit a fire of anger in her mind. Once more the Azirians moved. At the same time, Kazuki and the others were already racing to intercept them. They understood Etora’s intention perfectly well. His attack was a wide range one and he himself knew, that the Azirian’s would quickly regenerate. His attack was more of a means to slow some of them down rather than destroy them all at once. Were he to go all out, he’d have to worry about killing Kazuki and the others by his side.

Kazuki’s body blurred and he headed right toward Reya, she too was going for him and the two appeared in front of one another in a flash. Kazuki punched out and Reya smirked seeing this. Her hand morphed and formed a fleshy blade sharper and harder than metal.

*Bang*

The two struck one another and the resulting force pushed both parties back. Reya slid about 10 feet backward while Kazuki slid over a dozen feet before he stabilized himself and stopped.

Reya was slightly surprised by Kazuki’s force but she didn’t care too much. With that blow she was sure, he took Kazuki’s arm off. The red blood dripping from her bladed hand told her she had done it and she couldn’t help but smile. Her eyes met Kazuki’s and she could see no hint of fear or pain. That’s when she noticed his hand.

*Drip*

A few drops of blood ran down Kazuki’s hand and splashed silently onto the fresh snow beneath him. As the fifth drop of blood threatened to fall from his hand, it stopped. Reya witnessed as the small wound she had caused to Kazuki’s hand, healed in real-time. Barely a few seconds passed between the two’s exchange and Kazuki’s wound had completely closed.

Kazuki lifted his hand as though to show it off. He gripped a fist twice with his hand and rotated his wrist.

“So this is what the 4th stage is like. My defense is almost as strong as Triska’s. I guess I still need a bit to get used to this before my defense can surpass hers.”

Reya heard those calm words and it was as if an explosion had gone off in her head.

(4th stage!? He’s at the 4th stage. That can’t be true! The fact that he still has his arm though basically proves it though. That strength, speed, and defense. it’s only been a few months and now he’s at the 4th stage. Aren’t humans supposed to be slower than that! I have to kill him here and now before he grows any stronger.)

*BOOOOOOM!*

As Reya was lost in thought she was completely snapped out of it by a loud explosion.

Fera stood over the spot Glacious had been. Her hand fist, bigger than a hill had come down like a meteor atop Glacious. When her hand hit, a large crater formed beneath and sank the land downward by a few hundred feet.

(How’s that!?)

As soon as Fera thought that, a low rumble emanated beneath her black metallic fist.

A low voice echoed out.

“Is this the power you boast about supposed to impress because it certainly won’t defeat me?”
