Kazuki and Kai both gave Danny a strange look.
“Danny you can’t be serious. How do you expect to give this beast a stomach ache let alone indigestion? It can literally eat boulders and remain perfectly fine. Plus, even if you make this thing sick, how does that help Kazuki?”
“I can see that you both are misunderstanding something. I don’t want to just give this thing a bad stomach ache but make it vomit the entire content of its stomach. In doing so, Kazuki along with everything else will be forced up.”
Kai folded his arms.
“Even if you make this ugly bastard puke Kazuki out then what, it’s not like he can escape afterward, not with the pace in which this beast moves.”
Danny shook his head.
“I never said Kazuki would be puked out. I simply said he would be forced up. Once he’s in the top of the throat, there is a small passage that connects the throat directly to the nose, and from there it’s quite easy to reach the brain. putting your energy inside your broken ruler, you are cable of cutting this things flesh, maybe not very deeply but who says you need to. Organs are much softer and delicate than muscle and bone. Once you reach this thing’s brain, all you need do is go wild. The damage you could do and with no resistance. If you cut correctly you can sever the connection between this beast’s brain and body, rendering it paralyzed. This is only one way to destroy this thing. The second option is the lungs. Again there is a pathway inside the throat. Once the contents of the stomach are forced up, you should be able to make it to one of the lungs. Again, you should have no issues destroying a delicate organ such as the lung, and from there you can even make it to the other and destroy that one as well. Without air, this thing will die. Once dead, what fear will there be once you crawl out of its body. There will be no chase and this thing will trouble you no more.”
Kazuki and Kai were completely speechless for a while. Danny smiled at the twos dumbfounded expression.
“This goat-headed monster made quite a fatal mistake in not killing you before tossing you down its mouth. Inside the body, the harm you can cause is astronomical. In my opinion, this beast has already lost and is already dead. The question is not if you can escape but merely how long it will take you.”
Kai laughed out loud, a huge grin across his face.
*BWAHAHAHAHAHA*
He began slapping both Kazuki and Danny on the back.
“You see that Danny had the plan all along, Kazuki you merely need to execute it.”
Danny rolled his eyes and slapped Kai’s hand away.
“Enough with the hitting! How many times must I repeat myself, Kai?”
Kai continued to laugh, ignoring Danny.
“Little brother I was wrong, with Danny here your clearly quite lucky.”
Kazuki nodded along. He completely agreed. Danny’s brain was truly something special. Kazuki felt hopeless from the bottom of his heart and who could blame him. Being swallowed whole or rather almost whole, who’s first thought is, I can definitely escape this situation. Danny though already had a plan A and a plan B before Kazuki had even awoken. To say that Kazuki was grateful was an understatement.
“Danny. I don’t know what to say.”
Danny rolled his eyes once more.
“Is there a need to say anything at all? The number of times you risked yourself and went above and beyond for me…There’s no need for thanks between us any longer. Besides, if you die, I won’t be able to watch all the crazy shit happen to you outside. If you die, I’m gone permanently and that would suck.”
Kazuki took that sentiment to heart and just remained thankful inside.
“Both of your plans are great but now the question remains, how do we get this goat with an iron stomach to puke anything up at all. If even rocks don’t churn its gut, then what exactly will?”
Kai’s laughter faded and he became stumped before turning to look at Danny. Kazuki as well. He knew he was relying heavily on Danny but Danny was just that reliable when it came to thinking outside the box.
Danny couldn’t help but smirk at the two.
“Hmm, do I have something on my face?”
Two branches flew off the soul tree and were already in Kai and Kazuki’s hand before anyone could blink. Danny quickly held his hands up in surrender.
“Ok ok, I was just gloating a bit. Damn, give a guy a break.”
All three shared a laugh. At this moment, there was no fear in here. No sadness nor anger. Right now it was just the three sharing a laugh under dire circumstances. They didn’t really know why the other laughed but for almost a minute, they couldn’t help themselves. Life and death sometimes did that to people. Because it was so serious, for this brief minute, it slipped into the territory of sillyness.
After the laughter died down, Kai asked.
“Seriously though, Danny, how do you propose little dummy makes the beast sick? Do you want him to use his broken ruler to stir up his insides like a soup pot or what?”
Danny shook his head.
“Nothing dramatic. Really it’s quite simple. All you need to do is let that Azirian blood hiding inside your head run rampant. Let it fill your body and then force it out. All you need to do to make this thing sick is continually pour that nasty blood directly into its stomach. Even if its stomach is quite tough, I doubt it’s tougher than Etora’s, and even he was made to suffer once some Azirian blood got into him. This though is only part of it. After you make it sick, you still have to worry about the stomach acid itself. If it erupts upward, you have to go up with it. Can you resist such acid, I think not. So how are we going to overcome that? This is the meat and bones of it all. Everything else is easy.”
Danny then went quiet as he started t think about something. This worried Kai and Kazuki. Up to this point, he seemed to have a plan for everything but when it came to resisting the acid, the man actually went silent.
“Danny, you have a plan for the acid right?”
Danny remained quiet for a bit. Rubbing his chin, something did come to mind.
“I’m not sure if this will work or not so you’ll need to do a test or two. Your broken ruler is quite an interesting item. You made separate chambers within it to hold some acid from your own dug out cave. I’m wondering if your black ruler can also contain this stomach acid.”
“If little brother’s ruler can contain the acid??? Danny, even if it can, what good would it do holding acid inside of it? The point is to protect himself from the acid not fill his canteen up.”
“Ah!”
Like a light bulb going off over his head, Kazuki understood.
“Brother, it’s not that Danny wants me to fill my ruler up with acid but just as you said the point is to protect myself. If my ruler can contain the acid, that means it can resist it. Then using my broken ruler’s unique abilities, I can both make it bigger and change its shape. I can wear it like a suit of armor.”
As soon as he said it, Kai grew excited like a kid and shouted.
“Just like Iron Man!”
Kazuki and Danny both nodded and said at the same time.
“Just like Iron Man.”
A gleam of light shined in all three of their eyes. Who at some point in time didn’t want to be like Iron Man or Tony Stark for that matter. Danny was already deep into that type of stuff and had fantasized about flying in the sky wearing a suit of armor plenty of times. Kazuki and Kai as well. When Kazuki traveled all over Earth, he had found many interesting things and cultures. One of his favorite were blockbuster movies and that included anything Marvel. Being alone on Earth after his granny master died, Kazuki found little joy in his life but the things he did enjoy was the MCU.
Kazuki and Danny weren’t alone in this. Kai as well loved the MCU. Being stuck inside Kazuki and with the slow passage of time, Kai became bored easily. One thing he could do though was snoop through Kazuki’s memories. In this way he watched every MCU movie Kazuki had in his memories and he did this dozen’s of times over by now.
Once more the three laughed and had a quick discussion about which character they loved the most and why. Inside Kazuki’s soul world the time passed much slower so although shit was urgent, they had time to spare.
After a few moments, the three calmed down. Knowing the others were men of culture as well, was somehow satisfying in a number of ways. Afterward, the discussion went back to the acid and the broken ruler. Knowing what he needed to do, Kazuki sat down next to his soul tree. Leaning his back against it, he slowly closed his eyes and concentrated. A single thought crossed his mind.
(Let’s go back.)
