(“STOMP OF THE GREAT APE!”)
Groud wasted no time and came crashing down with a mighty stomp.
Kazuki didn’t even try to block it and swiftly retreated backward just as Groud landed.
*BAM!*
Groud slapped his hands together and two large walls came up from the ground on either side of Kazuki and closed in on him with a crushing force.
Kazuki threw his hands and caught the two walls beside him. His muscles strained as he kept the walls at bay. Using his ki his muscles filled with power as every vein made a swelling appearance. With a push from his arms and a kick of his legs, he managed to force both walls back for the briefest of moments. With this small window, Kazuki jumped out from between the wall.
*Bam*
The two walls slammed into one another. Kazuki had barely escaped the two closing walls when Groud appeared before him. He no longer said anything as both palms came flying at Kazuki.
Kazuki had already felt Groud’s magic gathering and seeing these large ape palms coming right for him, Kazuki knew it was the elusive monkey palm strike. However this time he didn’t use one but two.
In an instant 200 palm thrust came for him.
Throat, nose, solar plexus, lower abdomen, nuts. Groud aimed for every known weakness all at once.
Kazuki moved slightly slower than usual and because of this, he took several blows whilst retreating.
*Crack Snap Crunch*
Kazuki jumped upward and landed on top of the wall. His nose was twisted oddly to the left and blood dripped out. A few ribs were cracked and he staggered a bit.
Grabbing his nose, he twisted it back in place before blowing the blood from his nostrils, clearing them out so he could breathe better.
“Is that it?”
Groud’s crown glowed and a whip appeared in his hand. Whipping it forward it wrapped around Kazuki’s arm.
(“COME!”)
Kazuki was pulled back down and Groud prepared to punch him in the face. Kazuki used the aura wind and accelerated his descent. Just as Groud’s fist appeared in front of him, he pushed himself to the side and dodged Groud’s fist. Continuing forward, Kazuki wrapped himself around Groud’s arm like a flexible snake. Grabbing two fistfuls of exposed fur, Kazuki ripped them from Groud’s skin.
This pain was like dozens of needle pricks and it caused Groud to flinch. Kazuki gathered his aura and started to spin it but Groud could sense the change of his aura and attacked him first.
(“Not so fast!”)
He grabbed Kazuki by the ankle and tried to slam Kazuki’s body into the ground like a rag doll. Kazuki was fast though and just before his head was cracked open like an egg, he caught himself in a push up like position. Kazuki then grabbed one of Groud’s large fingers with both of his hands and proceeded to break it with an audible…
*Crunch*
Groud’s eyes widened and he released his grip from Kazuki’s ankle. Groud then gave a front kick but Kazuki’s feet had already touched the ground giving him high mobility. He gave a sidestepped and dodged Groud’s front kick. With one foot in the air, Kazuki grabbed the other as though he were hugging a tree before flexing his hips and lifting Groud from the ground.
Kazuki lifted and then slammed Groud towards the ground but Groud would not allow this. A funnel of wind materialized between him and the floor and caught his body. Turning his hand toward Kazuki a blade made from orichalcum flew out from the ground and stabbed toward Kazuki’s head.
*Schink Schink Schink Schink Schink Schink*
Kazuki was forced to let go of Groud’s leg in order to not be pierced through the brain.
Kazuki’s body blurred as Groud’s blades only pierced after images. Groud made it back to his feet and he continued to stab and slash at Kazuki. As Kazuki blurred with incredible speed, so to did Groud.
All of the apes besides Oren had lost sight of their king and Kazuki. To them, all they caught were the after images as well as the sound of the air being sliced and torn apart.
As this went on, several cuts began appearing on Kazuki’s skin here and there. Blood started to pour and splash along the arena left and right.
(Damn, It’s hard to gather my aura for an attack when Groud is on my ass, like this. I need at least a second or two.)
Kazuki retreated backward and grabbed a staff from the ground but Groud was quick and followed up immediately. Just as he had picked it up, Groud nearly cut off Kazuki’s hand and he was forced to drop it.
Kazuki retreated once more, this time he ran toward the corpse of the soldier he had divided in two. As he ran along the ground he grabbed one of the halves of the soldier’s large body and tossed it behind him at Groud. Groud was not impressed and cut the fallen soldier, dividing the body once more. As soon as he did that though Kazuki had appeared before him.
Kazuki had thrown the body and when it took up most of Groud’s vision, Kazuki had turned 180 and was right behind the body.
Groud was surprised by this but it wasn’t much of a distraction. His blade was already coming up to slice Kazuki apart. That’s when Kazuki opened his mouth wide and shockingly, he vomited in Groud’s face.
The vomit was black and appeared to be moving as though it were living worms. As soon as the black vomit was going to hit him in the face, Groud recognized it as the poison he had forced Kazuki to drink earlier before the match. Instinctively his eyes and mouth slammed shut and his swinging blade slowed for the briefest of moments. Kazuki dodged the incoming blade and flipped behind Groud. As he did, he grabbed a whip off the ground and jumped up behind Groud.
*Scwoom*
In an instant, Kazuki was on Groud’s back and he had looped the whip around Groud’s neck. Kazuki used his strength and pulled the whip taught, choking king Groud.
Groud’s eyes bulged and the apes in the arena started to get nervous.
Groud tried to slash at Kazuki with his sword, but Kazuki expertly dodged the blade and with a quick adjustment, he took the extra length from the whip and wrapped up Groud’s right arm, tying it behind his back. Now when Groud tried to move that arm, it would choke him even harder. Groud wasn’t done yet though, he flicked the blade with his loose fingers to his opposite hand and tried to cut Kazuki with his other free hand. Kazuki dodged the blade while still maintaining a tight squeeze around Groud’s neck.
Kazuki kicked Groud as hard as he could in the back and threw Groud off-balance making him fall flat on his stomach. His other arm was now trapped underneath his own body and just as he got it free from underneath him, Kazuki stomped down on his exposed hand with everything he had.
*CRUNCH SNAP*
All of the fingers and bones were broken in his left hand in a single stomp. The blade fell loosely on the ground with a…
*Clank*
Groud released a low roar and tried to grab the blade with one of his feet. Both reached for it and both grabbed part of it. Kazuki with his left hand and Groud with his left foot. At the same time, Kazuki also had the whip in both hands. With Groud pulling the blade, it simultaneously cut into Kazuki’s hand and loosened his grip from the strangling whip.
A tug of war took shape, one that cut both Kazuki’s hand and Groud’s foot.
Groud used his crown to create more sharp blades from the ground but no matter how he controlled them, Kazuki somehow was able to dodge them all while on Groud’s back. Because of this, not only did Groud’s attacks miss but some of them even ended up hitting himself due to how close he was. Groud had to give up on that and entrust his all to his strength. Using his foot, he pulled with everything he had. On the opposite side, Kazuki circulated his ki with his all and pulled the blade as well. As blood poured from their wounds, it was obvious now that neither side was winning.
Just like the first battle, the two found themselves locked in a state in which neither won and a stalemate had formed.
Even with all of his strength, because the whip was magical, Groud could change its form just enough so it wouldn’t choke him to death. Had it been just a regular piece of orichalcum, he could have simply turned the thing into putty but because it was a magical weapon and had been inlaced with inscriptions, it could only be changed so much.
Through harsh breaths, Groud mocked Kazuki.
(“This is just like our first fight and because of that you will lose just the same.”)
Kazuki had predicted this. Analyzing strength, speed, technique, disposition. Kazuki knew how this battle would go for the most part. As soon as Groud said those words, Kazuki knew what would come next. The ground beneath the two started to soften like mud and the two were on the verge of sinking downward.
Kazuki was not having that though. Kazuki released the blade for an instant and tightened his grip on the whip, at the same time, he kicked off the ground with everything he had. In doing so, he and Groud were both launched high up into the air.
