As time passed Kazuki continued to practice with aura and as he did the three techniques Oren taught him, grew and grew. Wind Aura, Aura Shot, and Strengthening Aura improved by leaps and bounds. At the same time, Oren grew more and more compatible with his natural instinct and gained tremendous control over his own magic beast core to the point he no longer needed to use a magic tool to use the elements.

After another long day of training, Oren called out to Kazuki.

(“Kazuki, it’s ready.”)

Descending slowly from the sky, an updraft of wind aura reduced more and more and lowered Kazuki safely to the ground.

Oren nodded in approval.

(“Your training is showing some reults. If ya wanted to ya could now fly out of this place and return to the surface.”)

Kazuki smirked.

“Is that why you called me over. Are you finally kicking me out, heh?”

Oren scratched his beard with his foot as though he were seriously considering it.

(“I guess I could do that but I thought ya wanted to try out the baptism, I guess I was wrong.”)

Oren went to turn and walk away and Kazuki flashed forward and appeared in front of him.

“So it’s ready, why didn’t you say so?”

Oren rolled his eyes.

(“I just did. What did ya think when I said it’s ready?”)

Kazuki shrugged.

“I just assumed you were talking about dinner. When you’re not talking about aura or magic, that seems to be the only other thing on your mind.”

(“How is that my fault. Being locked up for hundreds of…Whatever anyway, food is a luxury that this king is not going to pass up on. You should understand that just as much as I. Well, maybe not, seeing as how ya were only in prison for three days.”)

“Really, you’re saying that to me. Tell me, when it comes to food, who can out-eat the other any given day. Is it you or me?”

Oren sighed as he naturally knew Kazuki’s appetite after all this time. Every time Kazuki ate it was several times more than he could consume and Kazuki was somehow still hungry even after that. Kazuki was an enigma an empty pit. Oren couldn’t understand where it all went and Kazuki never really gave an explanation so Oren was just left with wild guesses. For a creature several times smaller than he, Oren’s mind could only spin in circles as he watched Kazuki put it all away.

(“Whatever, this and that has nothing to do with the other. The baptism, are ya still interested, yes or no?”)

(Once I go through with the baptism, if it works, it should remove and expunge all of the titan’s dark energy from within me. Once that happens I should once more be able to use magic. Not only will I be able to use magic again but it also will strengthen my body to a certain degree. The danger of falling is death if the baptism doesn’t take but with my healing capabilities, Oren said I should be able to handle it. Is it worth it…?)

As Kazuki stood there contemplating it, Oren was losing his patience. Finally, he grew annoyed and just started to walk away.

(“If you’re interested follow me. If not then keep on practicing, but don’t think I’m gonna wait here all day when I can be having a snack or something.”)

Kazuki himself hadn’t finished thinking it over but his feet automatically began carrying him forward and he understood himself.

(What point is there in thinking about it. If there’s a chance I can improve my strength by even a little more why not try it. All I know is my enemies will keep growing stronger, their not waiting for me to catch up so I need to go harder whenever I can.)

Following Oren out of the palace training ground, the two entered the city. Walking down the streets, everywhere they went, apes cheered or thumped their chest and roared in celebration when they saw the two. Groud was already no longer a part of their mind. These apes adored strength and admired honorable figures. Who was more honorable than their king and who among them was stronger than Kazuki? The answer of course was none.

A few of the children who threw food at Kazuki last time, instead shyly walked over and presented the food respectfully. Kazuki graciously accepted and devoured the food right there and then. All of the children marveled at how fast he ate everything and laughed as he scarfed things down as though it were his last meal.

The weird creature that was Kazuki fascinated them all. They all wondered how such a small creature such as he could be so overwhelmingly strong. Not only were the children interested in Kazuki’s funny eating habits but the adult females also became interested in Kazuki. Even though he was a different species entirely, a many few of them couldn’t help but puff out their large chest in hopes of attracting him.

Sometimes strength and power had a way of doing that to others. Swaying them by showing off battle prowess, it had a way of charming some no matter the species.

After a few minutes of walking, the two reached a large decorative building that resembled something similar to a church. As they walked inside, a thin old ape garbed in dark atire removed a hood from his head and bowed deeply to Oren. As soon as he did that, other apes covered in the same type of clothing did the same.

Oren acknowledged them before announcing.

(“I’ve come to baptize Kazuki. Leads the way.”)

As soon as these apes heard this, they all looked up at both Oren and Kazuki with admiration as they felt it was a privilege for a strong figure such as Kazuki to receive the baptism.

The old ape stood up in excitement and began giving instructions with ape-like noises. The other apes went into a rush and quickly disappeared into other rooms while the old ape tried to regain composure as he lead Oren and Kazuki deeper within.

Following behind the old ape, the three found themselves going down a flight of steps until they reached a large open room. In the very center of that room was a large blood-red cauldron. As soon a Kazuki saw that he couldn’t help but sweat a little as he remembered the way he was tossed into Glacious’s metal cauldron and how his body was smashed apart hundreds upon hundreds of times. A bit of trauma Kazuki didn’t know he had begun to surface.

Oren saw the change in Kazuki’s expression and asked.

(“Hmm, Kazuki is something wrong?”)

Kazuki quickly circulated his ki and suppressed his rapidly beating heart rate and he quickly regained his calm.

Pointing at the cauldron he asked.

“It’s nothing, just that cauldron reminded me of something. Tell me, does it involve the baptism?”

Oren raised a brow.

(“It does, why?”)

Kazuki swallowed hard.

“No reason.”

The old ape grabbed Kazuki’s arm, he wanted to resist at first but Oren reassured him to follow along. The old ape led him next to the cauldron before grabbing all of his clothes and ripping them off in one go.

Kazuki reflexively got into a fighting stance but the old ape simply ignored him, picked up the clothes, and threw them at a nearby wall. A large hole opened up in the wall revealing a blazing fire. The clothes fell in and turned to ash in less than a second. After that, the old ape clapped and several doors opened from the wall and more apes, this time females walked in.

A few of them looked nervous seeing Kazuki and shyly looked away while several others stared at him with devouring thoughts.

The old ape clapped once more and the female apes walked over and began scrubbing Kazuki’s body head to toe. Kazuki looked over at Oren with a what the fuck kind of look and Oren couldn’t help but laugh.

*Hahaha*

(“What did ya think they would just let ya enter the sacred cauldron with a filthy body? This cauldron represents all of my apes, the ancient and the new. It is a thing of absolute holiness and after me, it is the second most important thing in all of ape city. To enter it with a filthy body is blasphemous. So just relax and get squeaky clean ya weird creature.”)

Kazuki was tired of surprises like this but he understood a thing or two about respect and about disrespect. This was the way these creatures did things and he would be stepping all over their traditions and spitting on their religion if he didn’t do these things. He knew sometimes it was better to simply shut up and go with the flow. Though it was a bit difficult when a few of the females were clearly groping his junk when they were supposed to be cleaning it.

A feeling of repulsion crawled up his spine seeing these hairy large females rubbing scrubbing and grabbing all over him in the name of washing him. In the end, he endured it and swore to scrub himself later extra hard to get these memories out of his mind.

After they were done, the old ape led Kazuki up a small set of steps to allow him to step into the red cauldron. Once inside, he could tell just how spacious it was. It was like climbing into a large swimming pool. Understandable seeing as how most of these apes were near 15 feet tall.

After a moment, the old ape clapped once more and several doors reappeared along the wall. With it, the females left and several males took their place. Each one carried a large basket of ingredients. Seeing this, Kazuki sighed within his heart.

(Here we go again with this cauldron shit.)
