Reward for the Spirit

I left Yoko’s room.

Right outside of it, I stumbled upon Mai and Mei.

Both of their faces were beet red.

Could it be that they saw me fondling Yoko’s tail in the hallway?

「「Umm, Haruto-sama」」

「What is it?」

Thank god.

I guess they didn’t see me when I kept touching and teasing Yoko until she wasn’t able to get up off the floor.

They probably only saw me laying her on the bed and patting her head.

It must be. I’m sure of that.

「My ladies, Mai and Mei, you worked very hard today」

Saying that, I gently patted Mai with my right hand and Mei with my left.

They both closed their eyes in pleasure.

The spirits, Mai and Mei, are manifesting in this world with my mana.

Mai loved my fire magic

And Mei loved my water magic

I converted the magic flowing in my right hand into the nature of fire.

I imagined a flame that has burned completely in doing so.

And changed the magic flowing in my left hand into the nature of water.

This time, I imagined pure water with as few impurities in it as possible.

I heard that imagining like that improves the quality of the magic a lot.

I’ve seen flames from gas burners and scientifically produced pure water in my original world.

Well, I’ve only seen the process of making pure water on TV.

Still, it seems that it’s important to be able to imagine like that, and the spirits are very happy with the high quality of my magic.

That’s why I sent my magic to Mai and Mei, altering it to suit their tastes.

They seemed to be feeling good, so I continued to send my magic to Mai and Mei.

Mai and Mei fell towards me.

The two of them had become high-ranking spirits after making a contract with me.

Similar to what humans needed to advance to third job classes, a high-ranking spirit needs to do divine trials which are set by god in order to become a spirit king.

However, if the four spirit kings were still alive and well, the spirits were not allowed to undergo the divine trials.

The only exception to this was that if they broke through the “shell” of their existence in some way, they can rise to the level of a spirit king without having to do the divine trials.

That exception was the current star spirit king.

I heard about all of this from the star spirit king Osan himself.

It’s said that he broke out of his shell, and continued to take in the magical power of the stars to become the current star spirit king.

In the same way, I seem to have broken through Mai and Mei’s shell by forcing my magic from the outside into them.

「…….」

Well, there’s nothing with being strong, right?

It’s their reward, you see.

「My ladies, congratulations, you have been elevated to the rank of a spirit king」

Of course, I got no reply from either of them.

I took Mai and Mei under my arms and headed for their private room

Both of them were so light.

Is that what’s like to be a spirit that’s taking on the appearance of humans?

I went to their rooms and gently laid them on their beds.

Their condition was stable.

They were probably in the midst of a gradual transformation of their bodies after gaining such great power at once.

Now there are another two who won’t have my fried rice and will have to eat it later, It’s a shame really.
