Synopsis:

Saying 5000 year old dragon has an impressive ring to it, yet that dragon was an extremely harmless, herbivorous being. However, because of his uselessly giant figure and scary appearance, he was mistaken for the Demon King’s executive and provided by the nearby village with a sacrificial maiden.

Fundamentally cowardly and timid dragon tried to send her away, but the extremely enthusiastic sacrifice didn’t want to give up. Inevitably, he lied: “Okay, I just ate a small portion of your soul, so you can go back already.”, but the maiden with outrageous assumptions has misunderstood that she became the dragon’s kin.

Then, out of all things, she begins to manifest strange power on the basis of her wrong assumptions – in turn, the helpless dragon, by some mistake starts a rebellion against the Demon King.

Rebellion or whatnot, he wasn’t even his subordinate in the first place.

  1. I want more chapters

  2. On the cover … Is it the chunin girl or the dragon in human form?

  3. What is the ETA for the new chappy

  4. May I ask, what is the genre of this novel?

    • Sorry about the late reply. It’s pretty much a fantasy comedy, parody even, of all the possible misunderstandings (or is it?). Which surprisingly aren’t annoying, as the misunderstandings in stories tend to be.

  5. What is this nonsense

The synopsis indicates how crap this novel is.

Through the sheer power of mental thought alone, the maiden who thought part of her soul was eaten making her the kin of the dragon, magically somehow gained abilities.

    Right *tosses into bin*

    • the girls soul was eaten, and she become a dragon kin. it’s just that the dragon din’t know that he is powerful.

    • Actually, so far it has been hinted that it’s her own strength all along, it’s just that she was a child living as a high-class slave, so she’s a bit broken mentally. Never had the mindset to use or explore her own powers. Or it might be just pure nonsense for the heck of it, who knows.

  6. How many chapters is the untranslated novel at?

  7. Hahaha! I’ve been holding my breath with this one but I need to read it!

  8. H€££K@I$€R

    Thanks for the chapter

  9. This is really a fun read! Im looking forward for more translation works! LOVE THIS

  10. Hi! Is this still ongoing?

  11. Yes and no.
The WN is up to 182 sections, the latest of which posted on 12 November 2019; that appears to be after the end of Book 3, but not actually part of Book 4, as best I was able to guess from how it was labelled; I could be wrong about that.

As to the LN, Kadokawa published Book 3 on 1 October 2019.

From that perspective, it is ongoing.
    As to it’s fate here?
It’s still listed as an active novel.
That said, Novel Updates was updated to show Chapter 78-79 as being posted on 6 August 2019, updated on 17 May 2019 for Chapter 77, and Chapter 76 shows on 21 March 2019; prior to that, it appears to have been posting ~weekly, as the TL stated above.

I haven’t had any involvement with this project, other than having just done a slight tweak of the ToC page (this page), so all I can say is that LNT has the policy of attempting to carry all translations through to the end of the series.
On the whole, LNT hosts the translation of novels, not the translators of novels; our TLs do change as time goes by, but we endeavor to find someone to take up the task of any translation where the existing TL is no longer able to continue, for whatever reason.
I don’t know what’s up with the TL for this project.
I do know we’ve been working on finding additional TLs for a number of projects, some with multiple TLs, some where only one is working on it, with varying results.
It’s long enough since we posted a chapter that another site could pick it up without any justification for ill-feelings on our part. If someone were to do so, we’d wish them well.
In the meantime, so long as it’s still listed as an active novel here, the presumption must be that we do intend to do something about it. But don’t hold your breath…

  12. curious question since the manga seems to be axed, where should I continue reading? the manga ended after MC and Reiko defeated Pravas

    • IIRC, the manga diverges from the novel around chapter 13-14 of the manga, when they manage to stop Reko from going berserk, so you can continue from chapter ~46 of the novel, where the first book ends.

  13. It’s a little bit sad that the manga ended, but thanks to you good sir you’ve given us hope to continue what we’ve started. You who’ve taken your time to translate such masterpiece, hats off to you good sir and you have my respect and gratitude.
