CHAPTER 145: I DIDN’T ASK FOR THIS

I slept so well, I don’t remember when was the last time I felt so light and refreshed upon waking up. Not wanting to laze around I got up and stretched. I was in a familiar room on the fourth floor of Goblin’s Lair which was large enough to fit all three people present here. Wait…

“Mistress you have finally awoken. Please choose the place for the Dungeon Core Avatar Mark. I cannot manifest fully until you do that.”

I looked towards Fulgur who was sprawled on the floor sleeping and snoring loudly. I then turned my attention to this person that spoke to me. She was gorgeous and extremely erroneous. Her perfect body had been further made more mouthwatering if you just take a look at her revealing clothes that were tight against her skin. Her arms were bare and slender and each nail polished and shaped to perfection. Her face was symmetrical and she wore light make-up with crimson red rouge. Just looking at her made me question my likes.

“Can you please repeat that? Moreover, who are you?”

“I am your familiar, the living form of the Dungeon Core; Succubus Princess. I serve as the last protector of the core and the power you wield over this place. I also allow such power to exist. So where will you place the imprint?”

Wait, so this is that avatar thingy that I chose yesterday. Okay, so since I plan on setting up the dungeon I might as well start from this imprint.

“Why is it important where to place it? Just choose wherever, I will be in and out of this place all the time so make it that it is convenient. Just place it somewhere that will be easy to protect.”

Since the core avatar would live here most of the time, she should be the one to choose where to put this imprint. Honestly the main reason I wanted this place is because I needed some hunting grounds and to attract adventurers to this place so I could gain more money.

“Understood, placing the imprint on the eyes, finalizing the synchronization process.”

The Succubus Princess jumped towards me and turned into black light that slammed into my eyes. I immediately felt like someone had thrown sand in my eyes. It was extremely painful and itchy. Why is she placing the imprint on me? I just told her that I would be in and out of this place.

As soon as I got this notification the pain and itchiness stopped. Succubus Princess appeared before me once again and waited for me to speak. I kept silent and decided to check out this skill that I got.

             Induces lust and charms others by looking at the in the eyes. Increases the effect of luring skills and titles.

Well f*ck, this is really bad news. Now the effect of [Object of Desire] will increase and I also gained another skill that will make interacting with people that much harder. I should probably get myself a pair of sunglasses that will at least allow me to speak with humans somewhat normally.

Well, it’s not like I can do much about it. I will not let this ruin my day. I opened the Catalogues, but unlike before where a window appeared in front of me, the succubus moved and presented me with a tablet. It looked completely out of place in this fantasy world.

First things first, I need to buy some traps, but when I tried to do that I got a notice that I had already reached the limit for traps. That didn’t seem right, I didn’t do anything yet, how am I supposed to defend this place if I can’t even buy the simplest of traps?

“Hey, what do you mean reaching the limit? Are you broken already?”

‘Report; current traps are exceeding the limit. Presently there are 37/20 traps.”

What? 37? Does that mean all the traps that I set were counted as dungeon traps now? This is amazing; I have a way to save up some DP. Does this mean that since it works with traps it will also work with monsters?

“Yes Mistress. Name – Demonic Temptation, Rank- Common (E), Floors – 4/2, Traps 37/20, Monsters 0/100, Elite Monsters 0/2, Cores 1/1, DP 5420 (20 DP/day)”

So floors are also exceeding the limit. But how can I expand it? I was told not to do anything I couldn’t control, but with a limit like this there is no way to do that.

“How do I expand the dungeon?”

“By raising the rank of the dungeon through improving it either through monsters being spawned or traps installed. Defeating a large number of intruders can also increase the rank of the dungeon. Please work hard Mistress.”

So it was simple. And as I had enough points I decided to fill the dungeon with some monsters. A single goblin was worth 30DP, wolves were the same. Orcs were more expensive at 400DP each and Ogres were 520DP.

However I didn’t want goblins in my dungeon. I wanted something more challenging. From my opinion it is harder to deal with ten orcs than fifty goblins. But looking through the list of monsters I couldn’t find many different monsters. Altogether there were fifteen different types of monsters. When I asked why it was like this I was told it is because I only have access to common ranked Catalogue.

I was about to check the elite monsters when I noticed a special button. It was a slot machine. I knew that this was only placed to lure me in and spend all my points in vain, but I was tempted. The list of prizes looked so much better than the items I could buy. I guess there is no harm in asking about this slot machine.

“That is the random reward button. For as little as 100DP you can click it and a random item will be awarded to you. You can get great things, but you can also end up empty handed. Maximum value item that you can pull out at the moment is 10,000DP.”

I decided to try it four times and then use the rest of the points to buy monsters. It will be stupid and reckless to gamble away all my points.
