CHAPTER 155: TWO MONTHS LATER

***VITOU’S POV***

I was looking at ten wyverns locked up in the pens as soldiers were feeding them. In the past two months I was only able to obtain then of them, and four I had to buy from Dragon’s Descent at an enormous price. According to my latest intel they had over thirty wyverns in their possession. Since they were taking up way too much space only the original five were staying in the capital with the rest of them being in Baron Dyne’s territory.

Their fight against Blood Knight was completely one-sided and they easily took over all the areas where Blood Knight was originally residing in. And this was done without a single wyvern being used.

“Your Highness, as you can see the wyverns are growing strong. Raising them alongside humans is a brilliant idea. It is as expected from the Crown Prince to be able to add to the national strength with such a move.”

Not my contribution, but buying the wyverns was kept secret and the first wyverns that arrived came before the truth about Dragon’s Descent Air Force became known. To the soldiers and knights it was as if all this was my idea, but those in higher positions all knew the truth.

“How long before we can use them?”

“According to what we know about them, they should reach full growth in six months. We can have others fly them in two to three months at most.”

So slow, luckily the kingdom was peaceful. None of the newly formed dungeons showed signs of instability and were calm. The situation was good and a month ago father finally decided to leave the archive room and resumed his duties which significantly lessened my workload. When I asked him what was he looking for he only smiled and said I would see soon enough.

I let him be, knowing that I wouldn’t get a word out of him. However, I just hoped that whatever he was planning would not end up biting him back. But since he was back to work I will not complain. I still had more work than before, but unlike the past months I was not overwhelmed with it.

As I was going through the reports there were several that disturbed me personally. First it was the fact that Naoko-chan refused to clear the dungeon in Orzak and opened up an inn instead. Second was about the staff of the inn being extremely handsome but somewhat eccentric cook that kept seducing Naoko-chan and calling her his bride. And lastly three letters of resignation all sent together coming from Luca, Ina and Simeon.

“Argh, I should have known. Naoko was right they are still too young. The fact they were able to last this long is already a miracle. Just thinking about how the members of Dragon’s Descent treat her and I should have expected something like this would happen with my spies. Heck even I would choose Naoko over myself if I were them.”

“Your Highness, please remain calm. You already prepared for this when you sent them out.”

I took a deep breath. Yes I did plan this but I was hoping they would last until they become real members so I could get some inside news. The reports I can gather right now only depends on what my spies overhear the members talking since bribing them and forcefully trying to join is not working.

Luckily there is one source of information that I can fully trust. Ishikawa and Nakamura are supposed to be back already with extra details about Naoko-chan. I won’t mind that they are late since there were twelve heavenly missions for them to complete. It’s not odd that it took more time than expected.

“Your Highness, we report to duty.”

Speak of the devil.

“Nakamura, Ishikawa, I see you’ve arrived. I assume everything went well.”

“Almost, we ran into some trouble at the end. A thirteenth mission suddenly appeared and we failed it miserably.”

I didn’t look before, but I could see both of them looked beat up and exhausted. Way too much for someone of their strength.

“What happened, what mission made you fail so badly?”

“The mission we received was to defeat a dungeon master. We only had one chance so it was decided to enlist the help of Maeda-san and take down the dungeon master of Orzak dungeon. We thought it would be the easiest one to deal with. But you see..$&#5#&6/#&$/#&$%”

Huh? What was that? He said something, but I couldn’t understand him. The words coming out of his mouth made no sense to me.

“Daisuke, drop it. We can’t say it. Didn’t you try spelling it out before and failed?”

“What?”

“Anyways the Dungeon Master defeated us and placed a curse onus that will prevent us from talking about it. Also for some reason all our injuries are healing extremely slowly and after being defeated and waking up in Maeda-san’s inn all our mana was sucked dry and the recovery rate is slowed down.”

Such a strong Dungeon Master. I heard that the dragon which rampaged in the area became the master. It must be one that is extremely strong even among other dragons. If it wasn’t the heroes wouldn’t be so beaten up.

“What about Naoko-chan? Is she alright? What about her strength?”

“Tsk, she’s fine, more than fine in fact. Here is all the data that I got from her. I don’t know what she did after we parted at the Ogre Village, but those are some monstrous number. I feel like doing all these mission for gods had less of an effect than her opening an inn. Also there are some explanations of her skills and title that I was able to get. Also her classes, yes plural. You will not like that.”

I merely glanced at the memo and almost choked. What’s with those numbers? How can she gain so much without even spending her status points.

“Oh, but she’s in trouble. Orzak’s guild master is on his way back and he said she will finally show her might. When I asked further he told me she had been hiding the monsters that she killed and he was planning on exposing it all. Man, he looked so evil as he said that.”

I know for a fact that he borrowed the Stick of Truth. I guess he also wants her to rank up as soon as possible. Without knowing it he became my ally in this whole affair. The sooner she ranks up the sooner I will be able to bring her to Kapitalia.

“Nakamura, Ishikawa, you can rest for the day. Dismissed.”

I sent them away along with my personal attendant. I kept staring at the memo that Daisuke gave me. The more I looked at it the angrier I got. There were two words that stood out to me and were standing out. How could you do this to me, are you planning on betraying me Naoko? I will not allow it!

The two words that stood out to me was her title.
