CHAPTER 188: MAKING A PARTY

I met Marc in the hallway and decided to go for a drink. Besides getting back at Vitou will be perfect this way, but upon reaching the room I thought getting drunk would not be the best idea out there. So I came up with a plan and asked Marc to help out to which he agreed happily even added on more details, but he wanted me to make sure he comes along for requests.

“Basically I pretended to be drunk to get you to agree to ridiculous terms that will be highly disadvantageous to you and to get my hands on new items. Also Marc gets to move around a bit. It’s a win-win situation.”

Vitou was stunned from hearing my explanation. Well I couldn’t blame him, I bet he never thought that I would try to cross him.

“Bu… but how could you act so well? I thought you can’t remember a thing after drinking. You were exactly as your drunk persona.”

“Oh, don’t think too much of it. That person is still me and on more than one occasion I got a super detailed explanation of all my drunken episodes. It wasn’t that hard to act it out. Plus I knew that you would assume I was drunk in the first place so deceiving you would be that much easier. Now as you know I choose Marc to go with us, and the other person is Fulgy.”

I knew I was acting smug in front of him. Well with this I secured at least most of the earnings from this trip would go to me. It can’t be helped that I will lose out on some experience, but I can deal with that. After all I am high enough level, kinda. Actually I should have insisted on going alone. Experience is precious.

“I can’t believe this! Naoko, how could you do this.”

“It’s retribution baby. Well then, time to get ready. I am leaving tomorrow. Marc, it was a pleasure to meet you. I will see you tomorrow. Ishikawa, Nakamura, pray that I don’t leave all of you behind.”

I left the very stunned Vitou and two heroes as I obediently returned to my room. Mia-san needed to be informed so I sent one of the hidden guards Vitou had posted around the hallway to tell her that. It took some threatening, but in the end he listened to me. When she arrived I told her everything that had happened earlier.

Since I planned on killing most of the monsters by myself, the others would be leeching off of me. I had no problem sharing with Fulgy and Mia who I considered one of my own and Marc with whom I had a deal. I saw disapproval in her eyes as I told her what had happened, but she didn’t say anything.

After talking to her for a while and trying to rope her into my clan once again I sent her off and let her have time to pack. I also sent messages to Byakko and Fulgy. I wanted them to roam free some more since they are always cooped up at the mansion. I thought about brining Ichi and Ni, but couldn’t bear to do it. They were truly like pets to me.

Before heading off to sleep I made sure to re-check my equipment and stock of food, as well as other materials. I sure did have a lot of junk inside, but since the space was infinite I might as well keep it. You never know when you might need some of this stuff.

That night I slept like a log. If it wasn’t for Mia I would have most likely overslept. The weather was ideal; warm and sunny without a single speck of clouds in the sky. Not even an hour after waking up a new party was formed.

“Well this is really an impromptu party, but I wish everyone would introduce themselves and tell their specialties and style of fighting. This is only acceptable since we never partied before. I’ll start. I’m a magic user, but can also use the sword as well. My attributes are earth, fire and air. Also possess instant cast ability.”

“Ishikawa Taichi, double swords, vanguard. Can use magic: water and air.”

“Nakamura Daisuke, magician and support. Five major attributes, can also gather information.”

“Marcello de Vilikis; lover and philanderer, can satisfy all your wildest desires and leave you begging for more. I am avail…”

“Shut up Marc and take this seriously.”

I couldn’t help but laugh, especially once I saw Vitou’s annoyed reaction.

“Tsk, you’re no fun. See your fiancée finds it funny. Well I’m a knight using a shield and sword, you call it a tank. It means that my endurance is really big.”

He winked at Mia and me as he said that. Mia turned bright red and I merely chuckled. He’s completely hopeless, but there is some charm to him.

“I’m Fulgur, I crush all my enemies and those that dare to touch my bride.”

Fulgur was glaring at Vitou as he introduced himself. Well this is to be expected, I brought him along because that way I would be, one, annoying the heck out of Vitou and, two, ensuring nothing happens to me.

“I’m Mia, S-rank adventurer, whip user. Acting as support and retrieval specialist.”

“Finally it’s my turn; I’m a magic swordsman and an elementalist, can act both as vanguard and ranged attacker whenever there is a need for any. My goal is to reach LV100 in the next ten weeks.”

Actually hundred is an understatement. I want much higher, but with seven people that would be hard. Vitou took out a transparent crystal and poured mana into it. Each of us did the same thing. I had no idea what it did, but I assumed it had something to do with making a party. I saw it in the guild several times, but since I never joined a party, I never used it.

When all of us poured mana into it Vitou took it back than shattered it.

““What the heck Vitou!””

Marc and I both shouted out at the same time while Ishikawa and Nakamura only sighed. Somehow I got a feeling that this was not the first time such a thing happened.
