CHAPTER 198: I DID NOT EXPECT THIS

I think it has been a week already. My clearing speed fell considerably now. This dungeon really was weird. Right now I was on the 21st floor. I had assumed that I would be able to clear four floors per day, but the sheer amount of monsters that were present in each floor was something I could not quickly deal with. In the past two days I was only able to clear three floors, and that is without bothering to sleep.

“Nao-chan, you should sleep. I don’t approve of you neglecting yourself like this. It makes me worry about you.”

I had summoned Daphira on the third day to keep me company since I was bored all by myself. It had been quite some time since we spent time together like this and it reminded of when I just started living in this world.

“I will be fine. I am not tired at all, but I really hope to come across some stronger monsters. These are all basic mobs. Not really giving me much experience individually. Overall they do not pass the cut line for B-rank monsters. And I only came across five elite monsters that were worth killing.”

“As expected of you, only you would complain about it being too easy going against a thousand monsters on a daily basis. Even for someone coming from Earth you lack way too much common sense. I blame Thanatos for making you like this.”

I laughed and took out the ‘Lost Inn’ building. I did decide to listen to her advice and rest for the rest of the day. Another thing that I should do I take a bath. I was dirty and smelled awful from all the fighting I did. Nothing beats a bath after a long day.

As I was relaxing, I made a vow to clear the dungeon in the next three days and then go do some other requests. The guild should have some interesting ones. Speaking of which I should probably make a house and place it at this town, who knows when I might learn true long distance teleportation that will not make me incapacitated for day, and having this here will serve as a good anchor for me.

“Oh man, boss is amazing, he even put an Inn here. This was absolutely worth it. Now those fools wouldn’t be able to beat us ever again.”

I was startled by the sound of door opening and laughter of a group of people. How can someone reach this place already? I rushed out of the bath and quickly dried myself with the help of magic and put on some clothes.

“Welcome to the Lost Inn. Will you be staying for the night?”

I need to act this out perfectly. Since they were able to reach this place means that they have enough strength. I can’t get careless. The group had three guys and a girl all looking extremely pale, as if they hadn’t seen any sun in years.

“Little girl, what are you doing here all alone?”

“I run this place, to offer safe haven for those that are seeking it. Food and bath are included in the price,”

I flashed them the most perfect smile I could muster. Let’s see if I could earn some more money now. They guys looked really relaxed, but the girl was still on alert. Well I can’t blame her. She is the only one being smart in this situation. You deserve thumbs up.

“Little girl don’t be so distant with us. We are all friends, aren’t we? Come show us to our rooms.”

He totally looked down on me. Good, better to have them underestimating me than overestimating me. But that girl is a problem-

“That will be four gold for four single rooms Onii-chan. It’s a deal you won’t easily find around here. I can assure you I offer the best prices in the area.”

“Little girl, don’t be like this. Let us rest, no need to charge us a fee. We’re all friends.”

As if I would get fooled like that. We do not accept freeloaders here. I was about to tell him to get out if he wasn’t planning on paying when I felt the magic of some sort activating around me. I didn’t wait for it to fully activate and immediately broke it. I can’t have them using something to inspect my status.

As soon as I broke the first spell another, much stronger one was launched. I could pinpoint that it came from the girl in the group. Last time I only used enough force to break the spell, this time I would not be so polite.

To ensure she doesn’t try something again I used enough force to launch a counterattack on her. I saw her stagger and was only able to stay standing thanks to the support of the staff she was carrying.

“That was not very polite Onee-chan. Prying into other’s information without their permission is rude.”

“Aleysha what happened?”

So that was her name, kind of suits her, she definitely has an Aleysha feel about her. However, Aleysha should learn some manners first.

“Young miss should be a Viscount, am I correct? Please forgive me for not realizing this.”

The three guys all froze on the spot when she said that. I had no idea what made her assume I as a noble, but if that will make them not pry into me I will gladly be a Viscount.

I didn’t answer, but took a ‘that much is obvious’ stance. The four of them all apologized as they paid for their rooms.

“Thank you for your patronage. I will show you to your rooms, so please follow me.”

The way they acted reminded me of ducklings following a mother duck. I forced back the laughter as I led them upstairs. Since they are staying for the night, I might as well learn more about where they are going.
