CHAPTER 22: EVIL QUEEN NAOKO

***HIIRO’S POV***

Finally I have arrived at the Orzak town. It was later than expected, but the town gates weren’t closed. The guard at the entrance was rather talkative as he checked our identities. He showed surprise upon learning who we are but remained collected and recommended some inns and places to eat that might suit us. None of that was important to me, I had to find out the truth about Naoko.

“Naoko-chan? Do you mean that small black haired girl? Yeah, I know her. She is one hell of a drinker, heard she took the title from old Nord. I lost 10 gold to her last time we drank together. I heard that she was out drinking at the guild tonight, such a shame that I can’t go. I feel good about getting back that 10 gold from her. Sadly, I am on duty tonight, as you can see.”

So the Queen Naoko is here right now, that worked out perfectly since I can meet her sooner. After settling down in an inn called Golden Phoenix, I took Mai-chan’s hand and led her towards the guild building. Nakamura was following closely behind. He also expressed an interest in meeting Queen Naoko which came to me as a surprise since he does not show much interest in other people, even other summoned heroes.

As soon as I came closer to the guild I could hear there was some sort of celebration inside. It looked like this branch was much livelier than other we visited. My companions also seemed excited to enter as well. I hurried and opened the door to the hall.

“Next, which one of you brats dare to challenge this great Queen. I will make you regret ever thinking you can take me down.”

I was frozen in shock from the scene before me. My Nao-chan, that was undoubtedly my Nao-chan, was holding a mug of beer in her hand and standing on top of the table looking down at the large crowd gathered around her. And below the table three men were passed out one of them being Odi-san I met before.

“Hii-kun is that your friend? The one that should have died on the same day as we were summoned here?”

Mai stood confused. I didn’t blame her; even I couldn’t believe what I was seeing right now. There has to be some mistake. I need to talk to her. Seeing her acting like this is a shock to me.

“She looks like her, but never have I seen her acting this way. This is definitely not something that my Nao would ever do.”

Approaching her from all the way back wasn’t easy since everyone was trying to get closer to her, but I don’t have any other choice.

“Too weak, come on! I will take on two of… no, three of you at the same time. Better be ready to pay otherwise I tell your wives just what were you doing tonight. Don’t think I don’t know you all snuck out.”

“The Queen is merciless.”

“3v1 that seems possible, we can win that way. She is a girl in the end, no way can she drink more than three of us combined.”

“Let’s do it.”

Who on earth is this person and how can she be so shameless. By the time we got closer she had already began her drinking bout. As I stood behind her, she hadn’t noticed me yet. I stared in confusion as she downed mug after mug of beer while everyone cheered. In the end the three men passed out while she held up a V-sign to the crowd. I couldn’t help myself but ask her if that was really her.

“N-Nao-chan is that really you?”

Finally she turned around and looked at me. It seemed to have taken her a moment to realize who I was. The next thing she did was fly into my arms and hugged me.

“Hii-chan? What are you doing here? Did you come after hearing about how great I am? And what do we have here, are these heroes? My, my, you guys really are handsome beyond all expectations. Just as I expected from those vain bunch that calls themselves gods. And you, are you perhaps Hii-chan’s girlfriend? You look super cute, come give this Queen a kiss.”

Then to mine, Mai’s and pretty much everyone else’s astonishment she kissed Mai-chan right on the lips.

***NAKAMURA’S POV***

I stood dumbfounded staring at the girl that I have heard so much about. I couldn’t believe this girl was supposed to wield super strong magic that transcends reason. So why on earth was she kissing another girl in front of such a large crowd?

“Take care of Hii-chan, okay? He can be a bit hard to handle at times, but he is a real good catch.”

“Mhm…”

“Come on everyone, let’s celebrate! The night is only starting.”

After a loud cheering everyone continued drinking. Nakanishi took Inoue-san, who was still in a daze outside and I was left alone. I tried to sense their mana outside, but to my surprise I couldn’t do it because of a high concentration of energy spreading out from Naoko-san. I couldn’t believe this; this drunkard could not even maintain her mana in check.

I decided to use my unique skill [SECRET KNOWLEDGE] which allowed me to see the information on everything I want to learn about. However, as soon as I launched the skill it felt like I was hit with something and my skill was interrupted. I tried again and once more the same thing occurred. The next moment Naoko-san appeared next to me grabbed my collar and dragged me with her.

“That was not really polite, Pretty Boy, trying to do something without my permission. This Queen will deliver you your punishment, you will drink with me. Remember, buy in is 10 gold. You won’t be getting out of this situation, just so you know.”
