The Summoner is Going Chapter 244 Part 1
I used all the strengthening spells I could think of.
But no matter what, I couldn’t get myself to feel completely prepared.
It was quite scary how I actually had no idea what kind of enemy we were going to face.
There was a chance that it would be filled with monsters capable of killing my Summon Monsters in a single hit like those cat monsters.
I had 4 types of Physical Enchant spells, and 2 types of Mental Enchant spells.
Gravity Mail and Psycho Pod.
But…
Even with that many strengthening spells, I didn’t know what I would do against monsters fighting with brute force.
As if to jinx my train of thought, that was the first monster I ran into.
Clay Golem Lv.6

It was the same type of monster as Irina’s Clay Golem Summon Monster.
Thinking about it more thoroughly…
I realised that the difficulty of the Clay Golems probably wouldn’t change much with how many of them there were.
We managed to stay out of the single Clay Golem’s way and defeat it without taking any damage.
But still, cold chills were running up my spine.
The Clay Golem, and how it continued to move calmly despite being under heavy attack, was kind of terrifying.
What if there was another monster we had to deal with behind the Clay Golem?
Just thinking about it gave me chills.
But fortunately, without being able to catch up to us, the Clay Golem was unable to regenerate the accumulated damage, and so we managed to take it down.
But…
It was quite good at resisting spells too. I tried casting Lower DEF on it, and the spell was resisted three times.
Breaking down that Clay Golem using my Petrified Wood Staff also took quite a few minutes.
All in all, it took us about 10 minutes to defeat it.
【Material】Silica Raw Material Grade C+ Rarity 2 Weight 5
An ore composed mainly of quartz. The crystals are colourless and transparent.
Typically used to manufacture glass.
We managed to get some item drops, but it wasn’t anything special in terms of rarity.
The only benefit I could think of would be that it was another source of the material that could be obtained without having to go into a mine.

There was no reason for me to be so paranoid.
I had honestly forgotten that I even had the skill 【Disassembly】 whenever I collected some item drops.
I checked my surroundings using Call Monster.
Yep, there were monsters.
A few Clay Golems, to be exact.
They were pretty much staying completely stationary though.
They were naturally very slow monsters, so we could always run away if they were to attack.
「I think we should ignore this monster going forward, and just focus on movement…」
『Yep, that seems safer.』
Everyone thought so too.
But soon after we had that conversation, another threat approached us.
The warning cry first came from Helix.
A new monster was approaching.
It was coming from the sky that time.

All these monster attacks in quick succession…
The name felt quite familiar to me…
It was a monster referring to a structure often used in western architecture to decorate gates and roofs.
Some sort of demonic watcher?
Well, there were four of them.
Well, we had to deal with them somehow…
They were flying monsters, but there was something strange about them.
They were all as hard as a rock.
No, they were made of rock.
But how could they fly in the sky?
In terms of size, they were about as big as Gengetsu, maybe a bit fatter.
But their fighting styles couldn’t be further apart.
They fought by using direct ramming attacks, the claws on the limbs, bites and other physical attacks.
I hadn’t received any of their attacks yet, but Zangetsu was the victim of quite a few of them.
It seemed quite painful.
The most painful part though was how the flying Summon Monsters’ attacks couldn’t get through to them.
I was very grateful for the extra mobility that Zangetsu gave me. It was very helpful for dodging the attacks.
「Even Thunder Shower won’t help us here, huh?」
『Fire Ball doesn’t work either!』
『Water Needle seems completely useless!』
『Ah, Wind Cutter works quite well!』
『Gravity Bullet works well too!』
『Freeze Bullet’s effect is a bit weak…』
Yep.
We all tried shooting spells of different attributes at the Gargoyles.
I had one spell that worked especially well on them.
Gravity Prison.
And my Petrified Wood Staff.
All I had to do was use Gravity Prison to tie them to the ground, and then use my Petrified Wood Staff to destroy them.
It was a simple tactic.
By simply reusing the same tactic over and over, I was able to take down the Gargoyles one by one.
But what was interesting was that the monster just disintegrated once its HP bar fell to zero.
And out of the four Gargoyles, one of them left behind a Smoky Quartz in its rubble.
It was quite the nice reward.
It would be enough.
「Would it be okay for us to ignore this one too?」
『I think that’s a good idea.』
That was also a unanimous decision.
They were quite difficult to deal with.
We could defeat them consistently, but it would take quite a lot of attack spells.
Having said that, our next three fights were caused by ambushes from Gargoyles.
We could get Smoky Quartz from them, but they were still troublesome enemies.
I guess the Gargoyles were the monsters in charge of the sky in the area huh…?
It looked like it was going to be a tough map.
The time was 6:10 pm.
It was a good time to stop moving by horse.
It was then that we ran into another type of monster.
It looked a little like this:

It looked a little like a Fighting Bull.
Wait, no, a buffalo?
It had a big head, after all.
Their movements were rather slow.
『Don’t look it in its eyes!』
That desperate warning came from Hyodor.
What? What was going on?
『It’s one of those monsters! If you look it in the eye you’ll end up getting turned into stone! Of course, that means instant death!』
One of those monsters?
I felt like I had heard of one of those before, or maybe not…
Instant death and petrification, huh…
In any case, what about the spell Psycho Pod?
I had it on me.
But I knew I couldn’t trust it completely.
But it wouldn’t be fun to just run away either.
We could probably take care of these guys for dinner.
「Sense Magic!」
The first thing I used was a spell to sense magic.
It was to determine the amount of magic energy in my surroundings.
It would be useful in figuring out whether they were using special abilities in their fighting.
But it looked like that wasn’t going to be necessary. It was quite obvious when they were using their special abilities.
And it looked like it was only going to work if they were looking at the target with both eyes.
They had to blink too.
But after that blink, an immense amount of magical power would come out of their eyes.
It seemed like it was an ability that would be easy to avoid.
I thought so too.
I rushed in to take it down while Psycho Pod was still active for me.
I spurred on Zangetsu, and together we delivered strong hit after strong hit with my Petrified Wood Staff.
While I was doing that, Nias’s song kept resounding around us, and the other Summon Monsters also tore into the Catoblepas.
In the middle of the fight, I realised that crushing the monster’s eyes would result in them being unable to use that special ability.
I see…
I just had to crush their eyes, huh?
Alright, that was something I could go for right away next time.

Somehow one of my Summon Monsters managed to get a level-up before it was time for dinner.
I felt like I hadn’t seen that screen in a long time.
Maybe I was thinking that way because Adele’s Summon Monsters were levelling up so quickly compared to mine.
The stat that went up with Nias’s level-up was AGI.
I put another point into STR.
