  1. I still say everything that happened to Lydia was her own fault. In the first tournament, he had essentially already beaten her and told her to surrender in a situation where she could no longer beat him. Instead, she starts shouting statements to destroy his reputation and social life.

Everything after that is due to her holding onto and acting on her own grudges.

Well the second tourney was because she hid her identity, but it still wasn’t Keith’s fault.

    I don’t really like Lydia.

  2. Thanks for the treat.

  3. Thanks for the chapter.

  4. Hmm, I thought Guren is a she.
At the last Summoner party, he/she referred as She…

    • Chapter 178 in its entirety is something we have yet to reconcile with the rest of the translation to date.
That said, the raws for 178 are very clear that Guren is male; the characters used for male and female in Japanese have nothing in common.

The problem is that most of the time Japanese doesn’t appear to use intrinsically gendered terms when referencing people; “he” and “she” don’t seem to be explicit in the source materials, so you do have to keep that information recorded and referred to when translating something like this, and 1) mistakes happen, and 2) sometimes you don’t know for sure until something like Chapter 178 shows up and the author finally makes a clear statement…

Guren initially appeared in the Forums; the folks posting in the Forums aren’t identified as to gender, unless they explicitly out themselves in that regard.

Tracking down the previous mentions of Guren is proving problematical; Google’s indexing of our website is incomplete, as is it’s indexing of the raws.
The next step is seeing how the Google Drive search engine works in regard to pulling up the info in our working files…

If you could join our Discord, we have a specific channel for reporting corrections; if you could provide the chapter where Guren was misidentified as to gender, that would be much appreciated.
I only became aware of your comment due to WordPress sending your comments into moderation; oddly enough, WordPress doesn’t seem to grasp the concept of binge-reading in conjunction with many comments in a short stretch of time…
