CHAPTER 197: ESCAPE
“Come at me you filthy worms. I will show you the true power of the one called “Calamity of Crown Colosseum. You shall all become experience for me to feast on. I shall become the strongest one in this world and you are mere stepping stones for me.”
I was alone and there was nobody to see me, therefore I could do all these embarrassing things. Plus, by yelling out all these things, I can gain a boost in power thanks to the [Chuunibyou] Unique skill. It is good that I was alone at this moment.
“Eat this: Blood Rendering Slash!”
“Evil Eye of Charm: submit to me!”
“Blastoise used Hydro Pump!”
Okay, I might have gone overboard a bit. I looked at the corpses of sandworms and scorpions littered all around the floor. I had no idea there were so many of them. In the spur of the moment I forgot to look at the map and just fought wildly. Well, either way, it was better than doing nothing.
But this number was really too much. It is only the second floor and the number was already over a hundred. Double of what was on the first floor. I guess there is no point in grunting. In fact it’s better this way, I will get more experience. Also since I am nowhere near the rest of the party I am getting 100% of it.
“At this tempo I will be able to clear one more floor before taking a break.”
I searched the floor for treasure, but once again there were only junk items inside. This is a bummer. Why won’t this Dungeon Master give out good items? Even I have some rare ranked equipment among all the junk. Don’t you know that you can catch more fish by putting bait before it? Don’t be so stingy.
I returned to the passageway that lead up and sure enough there was another cracked indentation. This is really an elaborate way to stop others from entering deeper into a dungeon.
The third floor was a forest. This time I checked the amount of monsters present. There were a lot. Good, and this environment is good to work on my hiding and assassination skills. Let’s make this into a big game of hide and seek. Ready or not, here I come.
(…)
I jumped down from the tree and stabbed both my swords into the skull of an armored bear killing it on the spot. This was the last monster on this floor as well as the strongest one. If I am correct, it should be an elite monster. Because the terrain was difficult, it took me some time before I was able to clear it entirely.
I assumed it had been around twelve hours since I entered the dungeon. This seemed like a good time to take a break. But before I did that I made sure to check for treasures and moved to the passageway. I took out my inn and deployed a barrier around it. With this I can sleep whenever I want to. Really a convenient thing if you ask me.
I prepared a meal and treated myself to some cake before hitting the bath and heading to rest for an hour or two. Overall I think this was a fruitful day. Let’s hope that the following day will be just as fruitful.
***VITOU’S POV***
“Your Highness where is Naoko-chan?”
I can’t believe this? How dare she act like she is about to kiss me, and then hit me and send me flying outside the dungeon? I truly let my guard down to not be able and react in time. How reckless of me.
“She’s still inside. I’m going to drag her out. This time she really did something out of line. Let’s see if I let her leave Kapitalia again.”
I re-entered the dungeon and the others followed, but when I entered nobody was there. I didn’t dare think she could disappear just like that. Even her Space magic shouldn’t allow her to escape the dungeon. I went towards the grassland area.
No trace of her. I was about to turn away when I noticed an Orc from the corner of my eye. That is odd. We just got rid of them, they shouldn’t have appeared just yet.
“Everyone, we’re going back. I don’t have time to deal with Orcs, we must find Naoko.”
She definitely wasn’t here since these Orcs wouldn’t be alive otherwise. That is one thing I am certain of. She planned on leveling up during this time and there is no way she would let anything escape her grasp.
“Boss, where should we look?”
“Check every nook and cranny of the passage leading from the entrance to the grassland. That is the only place where she could have gone to. I refuse to believe that she can hide from all of us.”
However, despite checking everything, there was no trace of her nowhere in this area. Feeling defeated we left and reported the changes to the dungeon to the chief. This news will definitely cause a stir among adventurers once they hear about it.
“Boss, do you think she’s alright?”
“She’s alive, check your party status. You can see her HP/MP next to her name. She didn’t lose a single point this whole time. Her mana is going wild all the time.”
She was most definitely fighting without pausing. Knowing her she most likely feels like she’s in heaven by now.
“Honestly I could never understand why this world was so much to a game. Even the party status, you can check to see how anyone is without even being able to see them.”
“Game? This much is common sense.”
Those heroes really say some weird stuff from time to time. How would you know your own strength if you could not see your status? It is the only logical way to be aware of your abilities. It is their world that is weird to not have anything like the status and you can only estimate how strong you are in comparison to others.
But, Naoko, once I find you, you are so very dead. Today you caused so much trouble, don’t think you will be able to get away unscathed.
