Azur Lane: Episode of Belfast Volume 3 Chapter 2 Part 10

As for why Kent wanted Suffolk to do that, her reasoning was simple: she thought that maybe by doing some of the tasks she was doing in the past, the process would jog her lost memory to come back to her.

「Come on! You used to be pretty good at this, Suffolk! So I expect you to do just as good here as you used to!」

「Y-Yes! L-Like this?」

As Suffolk was told that, she grabbed the whisk more firmly in her hands and started stirring its contents vigorously.

「Hurry! Move that hand faster! More! More! Put your back to it!」

「Huh!? Y-Yes!? L-Like this!? Am I doing this right!?」

Being constantly urged by Kent to whip the cream faster and faster, Suffolk sped up her mixing speed without paying any mind to anything else.

「Uuuhhh~! K-Kent-san! My arm! It hurts! It hurts really bad!」

「What are you even talking about!? That much is nothing! The old Suffolk would not even flinch at a speed like that! So keep it up! Don’t stop!」

「I-Is that really true!? Because I find it hard to believe!」

In fact, even the former Suffolk would often whine and complain about her arms hurting from all the vigorous stirring necessary for whipping the cream really good, but Kent decided to keep silent about that important fact here. After all, it was not pivotal for Suffolk to know about that, as it would not help her with her current task in any meaningful way.

「Come on! Come on! Keep it up! Fight on! Fight on! Su! FFO! LK!!!」

「Uuuhhh! But it hurts! It hurts so much, Kent-san! I don’t think I can do it!」

As that scene was going on, at the same time Edinburgh just continued to stare at the two maids from the sidelines in apparent disbelief.

She was having a hard time understanding what Kent was possibly trying to accomplish here, but that was mostly because Edinburgh and anyone else could not possibly understand the whole picture and the circumstances behind them.

So for a while longer Edinburgh just continued to stare at Suffolk and Kent with a blank expression on her face, and then finally she clasped her hands together as if she just happened to come up with some sort of a great idea inside of her head.

「Oh yes, which reminds me! Since you are already whipping up some of that whipped cream, how about we use it to make some sweets for everyone else? What do you say to that?」

「OK! Heard that, Suffolk? Good luck! Edinburgh says that she wants to use that whipped cream of yours, so you will have to make a whole lot more of it!」

「Uuuuuuhhhhhh~!!!!!! But I am already about to reach my limit here!!!」

Suffolk continued to spin the whisk with her hand at full speed, his face flushed red and beads of sweat starting to crop all over her forehead and temples..

「Fwaaaah!?」

And before everyone knew it or were able to react to it, the bowl had popped out of Suffolk’s hand and danced in the air while tracing a magnificent arc through it. The bowl of whipped cream jumped over Kent’s head and then flipped right over towards Edinburgh’s head.

And when the bowl hit her head completely out of the blue, Edinburgh fell down while crying out in confusion, not even knowing what exactly hit her. \

「What the!? My eyes!? Everything went black all of a sudden for some reason!? Where is everyone!? I can see!」

「Surprise!! I am really sorry for that, Edinburgh!」

But even though Kent apologized for that right away, it would seem that Edinburgh was unable to hear her at all. Instead, Edinburgh started to trek back and forth around the still room with the whipped cream bowl still firmly resting atop of her head.

「No, seriously, I can’t see anything at all…… Just what the hell is going on here, geez ——」

In the next moment, Edinburgh slammed her face right into the wall with the bowl on her head at full force.

Unable to bear the pain from crashing into the wall like that, she groaned in a loud and pathetic voice as she bent over, and then she somehow managed to miraculously thrust her foot into an empty bucket that was placed on the floor and flipped over because of that.

Also, the recoil caused the bucket to soar high into the air.

As for the bucket itself, it flew close to the ceiling and hit the cupboard right behind Suffolk.

This time, the impact caused the bag of wheat that had been placed on top of the cupboard to fall down and spill its contents all over the place.

「Fugyuh!?」

The falling bag of flour hit Suffolk’s head cleanly with a dull “thud” sound, and she fainted on the spot from the sheer force of the impact.

All Kent could do right now was to stare blankly at this tragedy that happened in such a quick succession, as if somebody flipped a Pythagorean switch.

「What happened here!?」

The door to the still room came flying open, and Belfast came in. It seemed that the sound could be heard even in the kitchen, for Bel-chan rushed in after her as well.

However, neither of them knew what had happened, and their brows frowned in confusion upon witnessing the warzone that was the current still room.

「…… What…… happened here?」

That was actually something that Kent wanted to know as well.

「Edinburgh-nee-sama, is everything alright?」

Bel-chan called out to Edinburgh who was still lying down on the floor.

When she took the bowl off of her head, Edinburgh’s face appeared to be so white that for a moment out there everyone thought that they have witnessed a ghost. When they gently removed her glasses from Edinburgh’s noce, her pale-colored face came out.

「Bel-chan!」

「Wait, wait! Wait just a moment, Nee-sama! You have cream all over your face! You’re going to get me dirty as well if you are going to hug me right now!」

Belfast, on the other hand, headed straight for Kent and Suffolk.

「Uuuhhh…… it hurts……」

Suffolk must have had a clean hit to the head with thaT flour pack that was on the floor and under the table now, and Suffolk herself had a problem with standing up on her own

「Can you stand up? Can you hear me, Suffolk?」

「Y-Yes, Head Maid! Loud and clear!」

With the help of Belfast, Suffolk somehow managed to get up.

After a while, Edinburgh, who had Bel-chan remove the whipped cream from her face with a wet towel, explained the whole story to Belfast.

「Well now, talk about a true series of unfortunate events, huh…… Anyways, it’s not like anything bad happened. It was just a coincidence.」

After hearing all the explanations, Belfast still looked at the three maids in disbelief.

「Anyway, I’m glad that neither of you were injured. But why did Kent told Suffolk to mix the heavy cream in the first place?」

「Well, that’s because…… Suffolk asked me if I had any work for her to do, so I remembered that she used to love making sweets…… So I thought that whipping some whipped cream might jog Suffolk’s memory.」

Belfast let out a long sigh after that.

「Well, I understand how you feel, Kent. But please bear that in mind: Suffolk had just suffered an injury to the head, so it would be ill-advised for her to push herself too hard. At least not until she makes a full recovery.」

「Yes, I’m so sorry, Head Maid……」

Seeing the dejected Kent, Belfast felt sorry for her and opened up her mouth to speak.

「In any case, you too, Suffolk. I appreciate that you want to work hard like that, but n=you need to focus on resting and recovering. That is why I am going to take over some of your responsibilities.」

「Yes, I’m sorry……」

「It’s about time to get everything ready for lunch. Both of you should go back to the kitchen and help the other maids out.」

As Belfast told the two maids just that, both Suffolk and Kent bowed their heads down and got ready to leave the still room right away and go to the kitchen.

「——— Wait a minute, Suffolk.」

At that time, all of a sudden Kent stopped Suffolk in her tracks.

「Here. This is for you. I almost forgot about it.」

Saying that, Kent held out one of the fluffy scrunchies on the palm of her hand that had fallen off when she was poked earlier. Needless to say, Suffolk took it from Kent’s hand right away.

「Thank you very much, Kent.」

Suffolk laughed as she thanked Kent for her small gift and then the two of them went straight to the kitchen to lend other maids a hand.
