CHAPTER 100: SETTLING THE SCORE WITH THE PAST PART 1

「Unya, nya, nya, nya, nyah!!!」

「Out of my way, out of my way, out of my way!」」

Just like that, Kanade and Tania’s rapid progress through the enemy’s lines continues without interruption.

One after another, the guards would appear from the side corridors and would continuously charge at the two of them, but none of them actually possessed the strength to stop them from going forward.

So they just ripped and teared, punched and tossed, smacked and kicked……

Just like that, the enemy forces were completely decimated in the blink of an eye.

「T-That’s actually amazing……」

Tina, who was watching this entire scene unfold from behind my back, gave me a truly complicated look of both dismay and admiration.

For me, this was also the very first time where I could witness Kanade and Tanya unleashing their full strength without holding anything back.

I was sure that the guards also must have been surprised in more ways than one, witnessing the raw power of the Ultimate Species with their own eyes and feeling it on their own skins.

I was also sure that when confronted with such raw and destructive force, the guards would quickly understand that any further opposition would be actually fruitless. There was just no way for them to bridge the gap in strength between themselves and the Ultimate Species. So if I were in their shoes, I would just give up now and run away.

「Well, I keep saying that, but Kanade and Tanya are exceptional cases as far as the Ultimate Species go, I’m sure of it. Also, part of the reason why they were so strong and destructive was that they were more fired up to do this than usual for today.」

Not doing something for themselves, but for somebody else’s sake.

When you are friends with someone, you can easily empathize with them and get angry for their sake.

And both Kanade and Tanya are really good at doing just that.

I am really proud of them that they are like that, probably even more than they are proud of themselves..

Even though Tina sounded slightly confused, she also looked really happy.

She had been all alone for more than thirty years now.

So it was only natural that she was still confused. After all, she managed to touch Kanade and Tanya’s hearts with her story, but she didn’t know what to do with that fact at all.

But truth to be told, there was no need for her to be doing anything about that.

It was something that both Kanade and Tanya decided to do on their own.

However, I’m sure since Tina was like that, she would be able to come to terms with her own feelings and accept the feelings of others really quickly.

So for the time being, let’s just focus on what each and every single one of us could do.

「Rein! I don’t know about you, but this room is very suspicious!」

Kanade, who is leading the way into the depths of the house, stopped in front of a certain room.

It was locked firmly with a huge lock, and the door looked to be really sturdy and even reinforced.

It was also at this moment that Kanade’s cat ears twitched vigorously.

「Wouldn’t that be this Zipek guy? While we were making our way here, I couldn’t really see any other door that looked like this one, so I think that the odds of this being his shelter are pretty high. What do you think?」

「…… Yes, Tanya is probably right. This place must be a sort of shelter where Zipek would seek refuge in case of emergency.」

Otherwise, what would be the point of making the door out of pure iron and putting multiple complicated-looking locks all over it?

I also think that it is safe to assume that trying to bust those doors down would be a bad idea. One that would only end up with us breaking a few bones and the doors not budging even a little bit.

「No, I would rather not use Kamui for something like this. I have heard from Gantz-san that its powers cannot be used in rapid succession. That’s part of the reason.」

Yes, while it was true that the dagger was immensely powerful with its ability to store the power of the Ultimate Species, it was also true that there was a drawback to it — the inability to use that power recklessly, spamming it over and over again.
