Beast Tamer Who Got Kicked Out From the Hero’s Party Chapter 119 Part 2

CHAPTER 119 PART 2

「H-Huh……?」

I’m not really sure what’s going on, but it seems that I have passed some sort of test without even realizing that I was taking part in one?

When I briefly glanced at Kanade, she looked as if she was trying to say “Beats me”.

As far as Kanade was concerned, it would seem that this was just the way in which Suzu-san preferred to do things, going at her own pace all the time.

What would have happened if we hadn’t been able to pass this test of hers?

…… Would she just forsake us and go her own way?

「Alright then, let’s begin the explanation now, from the beginning, shall we?」

Suzu-san continued to speak, still with a smile on her face, her emotions completely unreadable.

「Just like you said, Rein-san. Each and every single one of you has very high specs, but you are all unable to make a full use out of them. That’s why you struggled against me so much, right?」

「Umm……」

「W-Well, this is……」

Tanya and Kanade both admitted to that fact, albeit really reluctantly.

They oozed with regret, but that didn’t mean they were going to make any poor excuses for their poor performance.
.
Suzu-san seemed to like that attitude, and she smiled at them.

「I believe that admitting weakness is, in fact, a strength. Because it takes true courage to actually look at oneself in a criticizing way.」

「Nyah…… Mom? Was that supposed to be a compliment?」

「Yes, yes it was supposed to be a compliment. Besides, as a mother it makes me really happy to see you grow so much on your own, Kanade-chan.」

「Nyaah…… I’m actually having really mixed feelings about all this……」

Well, I mean, it certainly does not feel too good when you are being praised for admitting that you are weak.

After all, it would only remind you of your own lack of ability even more.

「Oh well, I guess I digress here.」

Suzu-san reminded herself, and she looked about ready to get her own story back on the right track.

「Of course, I have completely given up on the idea of bringing Kanade-chan back home with me. Kanade-chan seems to be at her best when she is with Rein-san and the others, you know? But I’m worried about you, though. Shouldn’t you learn to fight a little bit more? Conveniently enough, I don’t have to return to the village quite yet, and if you don’t mind, I can teach you how to fight properly. That’s what I’m trying to talk about.」

「Oh, I see……」

「Rein-san and the others, you are thinking of continuing your careers as Adventurers, right? Maybe there will be a time when you will run into an incredibly strong opponent while you are on that path. Don’t you think it’s necessary for you to train for those times?」

Suzu-san’s words actually made for a really valid point.

Since the battle with the Demon the other day, I have been thinking about it almost all the time.

If we are relying on our basic power and abilities to fight, we might be stuck in a dead end someday.

It’s better to learn some serious fighting skills while there’s still time for us to spare to do that.

That’s actually something I haven’t talked to everyone about yet……

It’s something I’ve been thinking about in secret to myself.

So the timing for that was really good, but……

What will others think about it?

It’s not a decision I can make on my own just like that.

「What do you think, Kanade?」

「Hmmm… I guess I agree with you. I thought I was a bit lacking, honestly…… and if I could get the Strongest mother in the Cat Spirit Tribe to personally train me, I’d be even stronger than ever before…… and that would help you a lot, Rein. And also…… that would certainly earn me your praise.」

「Huh? What was that?

「N-Nothing! It was nothing! And anyways, I guess I agree!」

Despite her somewhat suspicious behavior, Kanade voted in favor of the special training.

「What about you, Tanya?」

「I agree with you as well.」

「Well, that’s a bit surprising. I was expecting that you would strongly oppose the idea of someone teaching you how to fight.」

「You have no idea what you’re talking about, do you? Well, I would have been opposed to having a half-hearted partner teaching me, but I have no problem with you, Suzu-san. My goal is to become a Master at what I do, so if I can become stronger, you are more than welcome to help me out with that.」

Tanya also voted in favor of the special training.

「So what about you, Sora and Luna?」

「Sora is……」

「I am all for it!」

Luna shouted loudly as she pushed Sora to the side.

「I have always thought about that! I want to become stronger! I want to be stronger, I want to make this power of mine known to the entire world! If you want me to train for that, I’ll be happy to do it!」

So, is that the motive……?

「Let Sora explain, everyone. Luna could do a lot of things if she had more power. Even when we dealt with the Demon the other day, we were able to minimize the damage done to town, but just barely. I don’t want to have to go through that kind of frustration ever again if I can help it, so I want to try harder to become stronger as well……」

「Mmngh!? H-Hey! Don’t start explaining things in my stead!」

By the way, I feel the same way as Sora as Luna.

And they seem to agree with the special training route as well.

It would be easier to understand if they said it in a normal way. but it was so like them that I could hardly help myself here but to chuckle.

「What about you, Nina?」

「I…… I’m not…… Umm…… Well, I mean……」

「Calm down. Speak your mind at your own pace and say what you think when you are ready to say it.」

「Umm…… I haven’t been very helpful since joining you…… So I’m really, really sorry for that! But…… If I can be of help to everyone else and do good…… Then I…… I will do my very best, too……!」

「Is that so…… But yes, I can understand where you are coming from, Nina.」

It’s not that Nina isn’t helpful or anything, but……

I didn’t really want to mention it now.

I don’t know if I’d be able to get through if I just said the words that were going on in my mind right about now.

These things are about my own personal feelings, after all.

If she wanted to train in order to improve her own abilities and be of use to us, then there was no reason at all for me to object to that.

「Alright…… And finally, what do you think, Tina? Well, I’m sure it’s hard for you to fight or something like that, but I want to know your opinion.」

「M-My opinion? I’m all for it!」

「Really now? You said that so easily.」

「I’d like to fight if I could learn to fight, too. I’m willing to train for that purpose. I want to repay you, Rein, and the others for their kindness.」

「I see.」

Everyone seemed to be on the same page.

I turned to Suzu-san.

「Well, you may have already figured it out after what you just said, but….. We are all in for that special training of yours. Can we ask you to do that for us?」

「Yes, of course. I’ll take care of it.」
