CHAPTER 124: SEE YOU AROUND NEXT TIME PART 1

「Hmm, hmm, oh yes, I see, I see…… That’s right! Everyone! How about we call it a day for Special Training, shall we?」

It’s already been a few days since the Special Training started in earnest……

Today, just like any other day, Suzu-san said those words to us after we gathered in front of her in the garden behind our house.

「Nyah?　Mom? Are we really done for today?」

「Does that maybe mean that we have finally reached the level where no further Special Training is going to be necessary?」

「Oh, no, no, no! You are nowhere near that level yet, I’m afraid. And we are not done here quite yet!」

Tanya’s words were met with a strange, scary smile from Suzu-san, as if she was trying to completely shut down her overconfidence in her own skills.

That smile was probably meant to mean that we shouldn’t lower our guards down quite yet, and that we shouldn’t let any progress that we have gotten get into our heads.

And the pressure that could be felt from Suzu-san’s smile was so strong and intense that it even made Tanya’s face twitch nervously.

「Everyone, during the course of the last few days you have managed to learn how to fight properly. I think that right now you can fight many times better than you were before.」

「Thank you so much.」

「No, no, no, don’t mention it. After all, you have been taking care of Kanade-chan all this time and you have been taking care of me those past few days, so that’s the least I can do for you. It’s just that ……」

In that single moment Suzu-san’s face turned really serious.

「Look, I think that you have all gotten much stronger than before. But that doesn’t mean that you should be overconfident in your own strength, you understand me? There are some people in this world who have unimaginable power, way greater than you could possibly imagine. For example…….. Yes, the Demon Lord, for example.」

Suzu-san’s words naturally made me feel all tense inside.

「Oh well, that’s about as far as I will go with the stern words addressed to you all. You all did a good job with your training. Thank you for your hard work.」

「Nyaah…… So it’s finally over, huh?」

「All of my muscles feel so sore right now…… I don’t want to move even an inch right about now……」

Kanade straightened her back with a loud crack, all the while Tanya moved her arms and shoulder in small circular notions.

「Sora also feels really tired. Sora feels like she would be able to sleep for a week straight after all of this……」

「I mean, this is honestly what you would expect from a pair of social recluses such as us……」

「Luna, once again, please don’t say that we are social recluses out loud like that……」

I can see that Sora and Luna are still the same, and that nothing has changed.

「…… Hmm.」

「Hm? Nina, what’s wrong? Is there something on your mind?」

「I wonder if…… I really managed to…… grow stronger?」

「Hmm…… Yes, that’s right. But don’t worry. I get a feeling that we have both become stronger, even if only for a little bit.」

「So with this…… I should be able to…… help Rein out…… more and more……」

「Oh my, were you really thinking something like that all this time? That’s really cute of you, Nina.」

「…… Huh!? Wapuh!」

After she said that to her, Tina placed her hand on top of Nina’s hair and gently patted her head.

After the rigorous and grueling Special Training finally came to an end, everyone looked exhausted but also calm and satisfied at the same time.

Thinking that Suzu-san’s Special Training was over now and that it managed to produce some results, I could understand why everyone else would feel so relaxed like that.

But if you were to look at it from a slightly different perspective, it would not be so surprising to assume that the following would occur……

「Oh my? Oh my, oh my, oh my? Everyone, you seem to be in surprisingly good spirits, are you not? So, since I can clearly see that you are so relaxed and eager to go some more, shall we have some Extra Round of my Special Training? Just for you?」

「W-What the heck, nya!?」

「Just what I said now. A Bonus Round♪.」

「No, I don’t want to! There’s no need for a Bonus Round like that to even exist!」

「A mother’s love is something to be received in its entirety, Kanade-chan. Now be a good girl and graciously accept all of it~!」

「NYAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!?!?!?」

Seeing that this scene played out exactly as I predicted it would, I couldn’t help myself but to let out a long and deep sigh.

It would only be a little while longer before Suzu-san’s Special Training would be fully completed and finally put behind us all.

As things played out, Suzu-san’s Bonus Round of Special Training continued well into the evening.

By the time it was finished, we were all utterly spent.

All of us were so exhausted that we couldn’t even stand straight on our own, even if we wanted to.

Nevertheless, the Bonus Round of Special Training was finally over, and this time we were finished with it for good.

And just like that, we were all able to graduate from Suzu-san’s Spartan Training Regime.

But rather than being filled with a sense of accomplishment, I felt more of a sense of relief filling up my chest.

Because at last, those painfully exhausting days of training would be over.

…… But still, it would be for the best if none of us were to voice those thoughts of relief out loud now. Because being finished doesn’t necessarily mean that Suzu-san would not impose yet another Bonus TRaining Round onto us.

And then at night.

Today’s meal was going to be prepared by none other than Suzu-san herself.

Since both Luna and Tina had been utterly exhausted from training so hard, Suzu-san had offered to cook for us all as a sort of reward for a job well done.

The food that Suzu-san cooked for us was rather simple, but it was all really delicious at the same time.

It had a strange taste to it that warmed my heart when I ate it.

Is this what you would call the taste of home?

Probably feeling the same way that I did, everyone else also finished their meals while smiling brightly.

After that we took turns taking the bath…….

Having that taken care of, we drank some cold juice while we chatted in the living room for a little bit……

And then, when the hour was finally starting to　get late, everyone slowly started to go back to their rooms and calling it a night.

As for me, I did not go back to my room just yet, instead going out into the backyard.

I then looked up at the starry night sky above my head.
