Alright! Let’s do our best as Adventurers today as well!

That is why I took on a new kind of request.

Defeating Orcs.

Orcs are E-ranked monsters.

In terms of their sheer physical abilities, they are not all that different from F-ranked Goblins.

However, Orcs are more intelligent and have the characteristic of fighting with various weapons.

Now, we may call them weapons, but in truth, those are more like crudely made things like swords carved out of stones and spears made of wood……

Tanya and Kanade were having a lightheartd conversation just like that.

For the members of the Ultimate Species, Orcs are not even considered a threat.

I knew that all too well, but still……..

「Be careful, both of you.」

「Nyah?」

「Be that as it may, we are still but fledgling Adventurers. If you are overconfident in your own abilities, you might make an unexpected mistake in the place that you least expect it. There’s no need to be overly cautious with Orcs, but that doesn’t mean you should forget to keep a reasonable amount of tension about yourselves! So keep your wits about you!」

「But Orcs, seriously?　They are only E-rank monsters, you know? Surely there is no need to be all that on guard against them? Just how bad of an opponent do you think they are?」

「No, they are certainly not a challenge for you two. But, you might get hurt, right? What I’m trying to tell you here is that sometimes it is far better to be safe rather than sorry later.」

「Seriously now. You can be such a worry warrant, you know?」

「Yes, I know. But even so, can you promise me that you are going to be careful?」

「Yes, yes. Sure thing.」

Fortunately, I got a reasonable reply out of Tanya.

But even so, I don’t think that my words actually managed to reach her at all.

I mean, it’s fine if nothing bad ends up happening, but……

「Hey, Kanade, they’re heading your way!」

「Got it! Leave it to me, nya!」

We rushed into the Orcish dwelling right away and began the hunt.

As far as the number of enemies go, there were maybe twenty Orcs in here at best?

There were more of them than I initially expected.

However, right after the battle started, Tanyaa released her Magic Power and intimidated them, because of which the Orcs’ will to fight decreased greatly right from the get go.

Knowing that the Ultimate Species had arrived, the Orcs fell into a state of panic.

And because they panicked, they were careless when it came to keeping up their guard, and exposed a ton of openings that we could explore.

While they were in disarray like that, we took it upon ourselves to eradicate them one by one.

「Fufun! Talk about an easy win! Eiyah!」

Tanya waved her tail like a whip and popped one of the Orcs with it..

The Orc was blown away by the furious force of the blow and rolled over and over on the ground, falling down as it was.

Not long after that, its body turned into a Magic Stone.

「Unyah……!!! Nya, nya, nya, nya!!!」

Kanade stood in front of the Orcs who were trying to escape, and she delivered a rush of fast fist attacks onto them.

Each strike was a very heavy and precise strike that precisely hit the Orcs’ vital points.

The Orcs that were trying to escape all fell before Kanade’s fists before long.

I should say that things were going as good as they could get.

The two of them were destroying the crowd of Orcs at a breakneck pace.

Alright! This means that I have to do my job properly, as well!

「Fuh! Hah!」

Even though I was only a human, the way I am now I should be able to stand my own ground no problem.

Orcs rushed towards me, but without panicking, I brought them all down, one by one, with my fists alone.

And if more than one of them would come right after me……

I would blast them all together with a magic shot with properly adjusted output.

Thanks to Tanya’s training, I’ve become much more familiar with handling my Magic Power.

「Rein! I am pretty much done here!」

「I am done here as well.」

「I am also done!」

Just like that, the Orc herd had disappeared cleanly and completely.

It seems that we managed to complete the request without any incident taking place.

「Talk about an easy victory.」

「Nyan~♪!」

「Thanks a lot, you two. You made it possible for us to get it done so swiftly.」

「Fufuhn! Yes, praise me some more! It’s all because I joined your group that this was possible~♪. So yes, so gratitude is indeed in order here. Also, a little bit of worship certainly wouldn’t hurt, either.」

「Well, someone’s here really cocky all of a sudden.」

「I mean, it’s an established fact.」

「For the time being, how about we focus on collecting those Magic Stones?」

Just like that, we have all dispersed and collected the Magic Stones that were scattered all over the place.

It’s a major drag to have to collect all of the Magic Stones by hand when dealing with a bunch of monsters.

Maybe it would do us good to actually think of an easy way to collect them en masse?

「Oh? It looks like we have a survivor here, of all places.」.

We couldn’t really see it because it was hidden in the tall grass, but we could see one orc lying on the ground.

And since all monsters tend to dissipate into Magic Stones upon death, the fact that its body was still intact was proof that it was still alive.

「Oh well, I might as well finish it off while I’m being at it.」

「Tanya, just be careful out there! You never know what a cornered monster will try to do!」

「It’s all right, it’s all right! It’s just an Orc! They are hardly something I can consider to be an enemy! This will soon be all over…… Huh?」

All of a sudden the fallen Orc got up and clung to the approaching Tanya.

「W-What the hell is this guy even……!? You little……! Let go……!?」

Tanya tried to shake the Orc off of her, but it just would not let go of her.

It was probably because Tanya was too flustered to move well because of the suddenness of the situation and because her opponent was dying, it was able to display the levels of ferocity that would go well beyond its usual levels.

The Orc clung to Tanya’s body, brandishing a dagger made of stone her way……

「Tanya!!」

The Orc swung the daggers down……

But I blocked it with my own arm, preventing it from ever reaching Tanya.

The dagger stabbed into my arm and sent a sharp pain through it.

But…… At the very least, Tanya is safe.

「Rein!」

「Nyaaah!? Why, you little……!!」

Kanade rushed over to us and ripped the Orc off of Tanya and kicked it straight into the sky.

This time around, the Orc died for sure and turned into a Magic Stone.

「Rein, are you alright!?」

「Ouch, ouch, ouch…… Yeah, somehow.」

「B-But……! There is so much blood and……!」.

Tanya’s face turned pale all of a sudden as she started to visibly panic.

「It’s alright, really.」

「But!」

「Did you already happen to forget? I can also use Healing Magic. And while I’m still a novice when it comes to it, I’m sure that with your Magic Power boost it’s going to be easy to get this wound fixed.」

「Oh……」

「Heal.」

I held my palm over my injured arm and focused my Magic Power on it.

I then chanted the spell’s name.

It might be just the beginner’s level recovery magic, but thanks to Tanya’s Magic Power boost, the wound was quickly closed.

Oh wow, that’s actually amazing.

Isn’t it as effective as the advanced Ex-Heal spell?

「See? It’s all good.」

「Rein, are you sure you’re alright? Is everything good? You’re not in pain, are you?」

「Yes, I’m sure it’s alright. But thank you for worrying about me, Kanade.」

While Kanade was feeling relieved, Tania looked really gloomy.

「Hm? What’s wrong?」

「…… T-This is……」

Tanya stuttered slightly.

「…… I’m sorry……」

「Huh?」

「Rein, it’s just like you said not all that while ago…… You told me to be careful and yet I was overconfident and careless. Because it was just a single Orc, I thought that I……」

「Well…… You know, sometimes, things like that just cannot be helped, right?」

Tanya is the member of the Ultimate Species, after all.

There’s no need for someone like her to be wary of the majority of her opponents, especially if she had to be wary of every single one of them, like just now.

Although I said something like that, Tanya remained silent, looking as if she was about to cry at any moment now.

「It’s all my fault…… It’s because of me that you got injured, Rein…… Sure, you managed to heal that wound with magic, but what if that would have been something that would have been irreversible? It’s my fault…… It’s all my fault…… I’m sorry…… I’m so sorry……」

Tania bowed her head deeply in front of me.

Anyways, it’s only natural to help your friends, right?　Don’t worry about it.」

「If it happens again, I won’t hesitate to help you out without a moment of delay, Tanya.」

「…… You dummy…… but thank you……」

Tanya still had a complicated look on her face, as if she was about to break into tears or start laughing, and once again she murmured in a silent voice:
