「Alright then, let’s get to work right away.」

「We need to get prepared on our end as well. That being said, let us head back to the inn at once. We are going to meet once again once the night settles in.」

「Yeah. We are going to make sure that everything is ready on our end as well. We will be waiting for you.」

After the two of us left Stella, we went back to the inn and explained to everyone else what had happened until just now.

After we did just that, we started to make our preparations for the night.

And then……

I decided to go to Gantz-san’s shop on my own.

「Oh, if it isn’t Rein. What’s wrong, lad?」

The moment I opened the door to the shop, the bell that was installed right above the door rang out loud.

In response to the sound, Gantz-san came out from the back of the store to see who it was that decided to pay a visit to his establishment.

It seems that he was in the middle of some work, for his forehead was drenched in huge beads of shiny sweat.

「I’m sorry. Did I interrupt you with something?」

「…… What? Nah, that’s all right. I was just about to take a break, anyways.」

「Then that’s actually great to hear. I’d like to ask you about the progress of the armor I asked you to make for me……」

Tonight, our plan might as well turn into a major battle.

And while it is true that we are going to lay a trap for our enemies, we cannot be sure that this trap is actually going to succeed or not. And that is why……

It’s necessary to be prepared in case of an emergency.

That’s why I wanted to rely on Gantz-san’s armor for protection……

「That’s great and all, but why did you prioritize the gauntlet first? I ordered all of those things in bulk, so I thought that the gauntlet would be the last item that you would be working on, since it was the last thing that I mentioned……」

And it’s also true that as an order it is something of a pain in the ass to make, but on the other hand, it’s not all that often that I get to work on something so unique and interesting. And as a craftsman, you can bet your ass that I am going to take all of the opportunities to create as many interesting and unique pieces of equipment as I can get! And it really stimulated my creative urges, so to speak. Hahahaha!」

I thought that I made a whole lot of really troublesome orders all at once, but I can see that it only managed to get Gantz-san even more motivated to do some work.

Apparently, Gantz-san is a true armor and weapons craftsman, down to his very core.

Once again, I felt as if I had seen Gantz-san’s pride as a craftsman shine through at full power.

「So? How long do you think it will take you to adjust the gauntlet?」

「Hm?　It would take an hour or two, give or take, but…… Why? Are you in a hurry or something?」

「I think I might actually need it tonight. It’s actually a kind of a long story.」

「…… Hmm. You managed to get your foot into some really murky business, lad?」

「…… Yeah. I’m afraid that that’s the gist of it.」

「…… Mm, all right. Then let’s get this fine-tuning business started right away, shall we?」

「Thank you very much.」

「But still, the dagger is pretty much a no-go.　It would take at least two more days for me to finish it, no matter how much you would try to beg me to hurry up and get along with it. After all, you are the Beast Tamer who has the members of Ultimate Species as your party members. It has to be a weapon that is worthy such a master, at the very least. So anything less than a first class weapon is not going to cut it. I hope that you can understand where I’m coming from with this?」

「Yes, I do realize that. I understand, so no worries. You can place the dagger aside for now. But if you could offer me a replacement for it for tonight, that would be great.」

「Oh, if it’s something like that, I think I can manage to give you something really nice. After all, I have a whole lot of top quality stuff just lying on my shelves and waiting. How about you go and give them a look? You can take whichever one you want. Oh, and no need to worry about the money. It’s on the house.」

「Are you sure about that?」

「Yes, I am sure. After all, I owe you a debt of gratitude, lad. If it wasn’t for you and your companions, I wouldn’t be able to even make my weapons and armor anymore. It is the kind of debt that cannot be repaid all that easily. So, as far as I am concerned, you can take whichever weapon you feel like taking.」

「Now then, how about we get down to finishing that gauntlet for you? Just sit down and wait just a moment.」

Having said that, Gantz-san disappeared at the back of the store, clearly rummaging there in search for something.

Sometime later, I could hear the sound of a hammer banging against metal with a loud metallic “BANG!”

Alright then.

While Gantz-san was busy fine-tuning my gauntlet for me, I decided to take advantage of his generosity and browse his wares in search of the perfect dagger for me.

I moved to the shelves where the daggers were all lined up and started to pick them up one by one, to see how well they would sit in my hand and how they would swing.

Gantz-san had said before that some of those things were rejects that were not meant for sale, but they were all so outrageous that it was actually hard to believe it.

They were all so well made that they could be called first class items, without a shred of a doubt.

How could I not be satisfied with something as quality as all this? Are you kidding me?
