Beast Tamer Who Got Kicked Out From the Hero’s Party Chapter 61 Part 1

CHAPTER 61: THE ESCAPE PART 1

After I rested for a while, my body stopped aching all over and I was able to move once more.

So I stood up and gently took Nina’s hand into my own.

「Come on, Nina. Let’s get out of here. Are you ready?」

「Y-Yes.」

Nina answered, but for some reason she was still looking really nervous.

‘Can we really get out of here just like that?’ …… I’m sure that she must have been wondering things like that inside of her head.

Because of that, there was only one thing that I had to do here: I needed to make sure that we get out of here as fast as possible, so as to not let Nina’s expectations of me down.

「Okay, let’s go!」

While still holding onto Nina’s hand I started to walk forward, leaving her cell and gently guiding her along.

As we walked through the mansion’s corridors, there were no signs of other people being around.

The reason for that must have been that the vast majority of the mansion’s guards were redirected to the front of the mansion in order to repel the Knights Order’s forces.

Still, just to be on the safe side, as we went through the mansion’s many corridors, I made sure to keep my guard up and my wits about me the entire time. Better to be safe rather than sorry.

After a while, we reached the stairs and we went down to the first floor.

Then we proceeded towards the back of the building, waiting for both Sora and Luna to rejoin us.

「Why…… are we stopping now?」

「Oh, you see…… There were two of my friends who infiltrated the mansion together with me. We are going to wait for them right here.」

「Are you perhaps……」

「…… Referring to Sora and Luna?」

「Hyauh!?」

All of a sudden, both Sora and Luna appeared from the shadows of the corridor and Nina jumped up with a twitch, spooked and frightened.

「Thank goodness. You guys are okay?」

「Were you perhaps that worried about our well-being?」

「Well, of course I was.」

「Oh? I must say, when you say it like that, knowing that you were worried about us doesn’t feel all that bad.」

「But, your worries were pretty much unnecessary here! After all, we are the most powerful and most talented of all the Spirit Tribe! No, out of all of the Ultimate Species, I should say! Fuwahahahaha!!!」

「I keep saying this to you…… STOP TALKING SO LOUDLY!」

「FUGYAH!?」

The moment that angry Sora smacked Luna across the head with the palm of her hand, Luna let out a voice that was difficult to describe or categorize.

「Uhh, umm……」

「It’s alright. Those two are the companions that I mentioned just now. They might act like that, but they are really dependable.」

Seeing that Nina was somewhat doubtful of the Spirit Tribe twins, I told her that to reassure her. Hopefully that would be enough to calm her.

Initially, Nina seemed to be really surprised and on high alert, but the moment she realized that Sora and Luna were also the members of the Ultimate Species just like her, she finally relaxed and let her guard down a little bit.

「By the way…… Rein? Who is that girl with you? Don’t tell me…… You already have the two of us, but you still hooked up with someone new when we weren’t looking!?」

「Luna! Don’t say things like that! It can be misinterpreted by others! And really badly, at that!」

「This guy…… Do you think he’s doing it on purpose? Or maybe he does that without even realizing what he is doing himself?」

「No, I think he really does that unconsciously…… At least I want to believe that.」

「Come on now, you two, you know…… Or you know what? Now is really not the time to do something like this. So? What about all those people that were imprisoned in the basement?」

「Don’t worry about that. We used our Teleportation magic to get everyone to safety. They should all be in the center of the city for the time being.」

「While it is true that they were left in plain sight there, since it’s the middle of the city, I doubt that anyone would be stupid enough to try and attack them or imprison them once more. So we don’t have to worry about getting them involved again anytime soon.」

「I see…… Thank you so much, Sora, Luna. You have done a great job. I’m proud of you.」

「Nnh.」

「Fuwah.」

Upon hearing their report, I just couldn’t help myself but to give the two of them a nice pat on their heads.

It was only after a moment that a thought occurred to me that they might be angry with me for basically treating them like children here, but on the contrary……

Both of them did not seem to mind it all that much, accepting the head pats and looking as if they were deriving some great enjoyment out of it.

「T-This is a pretty great reward for all of our hard work, if I am to be completely honest here. Very nice, indeed.」

「Uhhh…… Yes, I could really get used to it. And I know that we should probably tell him to stop doing that, but once he does that, you just can’t get enough.」

「…… Is that some sort of a catchphrase or something like that?」

「I don’t know.」

「Speaking of which, can you do one more teleportation for me?」

「…… Hm?　Of course, there’s no problem at all with that. I hope you don’t underestimate the amount of mana that the people from the Spirit Tribe possess!」

「Great. Then, could you please take this little one somewhere safe?」

「Oh, yes, sure. No problem. But Rein, what about that other source of Magic Power?」

「Umm…… This is actually way more complicated than we initially thought it would be, so I don’t want to go into the details right here and right now, but…… that other Magic Power reaction was coming from this girl. This girl…… Nina is also the member of the Ultimate Species, and since the Lord had captured her, I wanted to help her in getting out of here.」

「The way she looks…… Is she perhaps a God Tribe? Talk about a rare specimen. And I mean, God Tribe members are often worshiped by humans and enshrined, so they should rarely show themselves in front of others.」

「Not that the two of us, being shut-ins that we are, are in any position to talk.」

「Like I said earlier, please don’t call us shut-ins. It leaves a really bad taste in my mouth.」

「Oh well, not that it really matters all that much. Come on now, let’s get this teleportation out of the way. Come here, little missy.」

Now, even though Luna said all that and beckoned Nina to come over to their side, for some reason Nina was really reluctant to leave my side.
