CHAPTER 65 PART 2

THen, a dragon built up with magic power roared and flew towards Kanade at full speed.

「Nyah…… Uuuhh!?」

It was already too late to act. She wouldn’t be able to avoid it!

Bracing herself for the incoming impact and damage, Kanade crossed her arms in front of her body and stood her ground firmly.

And then what followed…… was a direct hit.

A direct hit, and then a huge impact.

For a moment out there, Kanade’s vision swung up and down and left and right, and she felt as though her whole body went numb as she fell into a short state of oblivion.

She was then blown away and rolled around in circles alongside the ground a few times……..

And she only came to a stop the moment she finally hit the mansion’s wall.

「Nyah, nyah, nyah! Ouch, this hurts so much……」

But despite the fact that she just suffered a direct hit to the face with the Advanced-Level magic, the only thing that Kanade had to say to that was simply that one word: “Ouch”.

Even though she was supposed to be weak to magic attacks, the strength and resilience of the Cat Spirit Tribe was not something that should be underestimated.

Even if it was an attack that they were weak against, Kanade was still able to endure it to a certain extent.

However, even though she was able to endure it, it was still true that getting hit by an attack like that repeatedly would spell nothing but bad news for her.

「Tch, you are one tough kitty to crack, huh…… Hey! Let her have it until she is no longer even able to stand back up on her own!」

「Okay! You got it! “Dragon Howling”!」

Hearing the Warrior’s command, the Wizard started to chant the incantation once more.

And it would seem that this was going to be the same spell that Kanade saw just a moment ago.

But this time around, Kanade managed to barely avoid the spell, by twisting her body in the air at the last possible moment.

Maintaining the momentum that her spinning managed to build up, she started running towards the Wizard once more, but……

「Nyaah!? Get the heck out of my way!」

Once again, the Warrior blocked her way and stopped her in her tracks.

And while the Warrior successfully blocked Kanade’s advances, the Wizard was unleashing one Advanced-Level spell after another, hurling them Kanade’s way.

「“Dragon Howling”!」

「Nyah!?」

Once again, Kanade’s body was grazed by the image of the illusory dragon.

As if entangled in a tornado, her body spun around like a marionette with broken strings and was blown away.

With a loud crunch, Kanade;s back was then slammed against the huge and sturdy furniture.

「Ouch, ouch, ouch……」

Wobbling all over, Kanade managed to stand up yet again.

And then she started to think.

As things were, the coordination between the Warrior and the Wizard was pretty much perfect.

The Warrior was able to keep Kanade at bay, while the Wizard was able to strike her with one spell after another, not having to worry about being attacked himself.

It was a well thought out strategy that was seemingly impeccable.

It was something that almost made you think that those two might have actually fought against the Cat Spirit Tribe in the past.

Their moves were in perfect harmony with one another and there was no way for Kanade to break their formation apart.

The power of a mercenary that was comparable to a B-Rank Adventurer was something that could not be easily underestimated, under any circumstances.

「But then, I can, too……!」

She decided not to think about overdoing things or anything like that for the time being.

Right now, it is better to just get out of this situation.

And so, Kanade released about half of her strength.

Then she ran at more than twice her usual speed, which was simply incomparable to what she had displayed just a moment ago.

「Shit, this little bugger sure is fast…… But! That is all that she has going on for herself!」

The Warrior held his huge shield with both of his hands, trying to stop Kanade from getting through him, even stomping his feet firmly into the ground.

No matter how strong of a Cat Spirit Tribe she was, as long as the Warrior would focus on the defensive, he could still fulfill his role of buying the Wizard all the time he needed to cast his spells.

From the time he was small until now, he had been torturing his body to its very limit, calling it training and refinement.

Because of that, he had all the power he needed to accomplish pretty much anything he would set his mind on doing.

The Warrior had the confidence that he could stop Kanade in her tracks, even if she was the member of the Ultimate Species.

As a result……

「Nyan!」

「…… W-What the hell!?」

Kanade ran to the side to avoid the Warrior’s shield.

Running, running, and then running some more, always pushing forward without stopping……

And just like that, she eventually started to run across the wall.

As if the gravity had turned sideways, Kanade used the wall as a foothold and ran across the Warrior’s protective zone, avoiding it entirely.

As it was, she moved further, this time running across the ceiling.

The Warrior was so stunned by the sight of the gravity being ignored right before his very eyes.

Even the member of the Ultimate Species such as Kanade did not have the skill that would allow her to manipulate gravity freely.

She simply made full use of her Cat Spirit Tribe’s ridiculous physical abilities to run through walls and ceilings by herself.

It was outrageous.

It was simply inconceivable.

But it was a real thing that was happening in reality.

「…… O-Oh no! Run!」

The Warrior, finally coming back to his senses after the initial shock, shouted at the Wizard.

…… But it was already too late.

Avoiding the Warrior by running through the ceiling, Kanade jumped directly in front of the Wizard………..and landed almost on top of him.

She then spun her arms around and around……..

Forming a whirlwind of fists that blew away the fear-paralyzed Wizard.

「Unya, nya, nya, nya, nya, nya, NYAH!!!」

「What!?」

The Wizard took the lurry of Kanade’s punches head-on, blown away by the excessive amount of force.

He hit the wall with his back and collapsed into a stupor.

「Alright!」

Kanade shouted while striking a victorious pose on the spot.

The Warrior, on the other hand, was unable to move as he saw something that was completely out of the ordinary.

He had heard that the Ultimate Species had tremendous power.

He did not intend to let his guard down around one of them, either.

But……..to be able to show such extraordinary power under such an unfavorable situation……

In just a single moment, the situation was reversed completely.

It was as if the Warrior was witnessing some sort of a bad dream.

The Warrior could not help it but to think something alongside those lines.

「And now…… this is the end!」

While the Warrior was still too stunned to move, Kanade ran a few meters in an instant… and with the same momentum, she punched her foe away.
