No Matter How Good You Are At Something, It’s Difficult to Feel Happy About It If Isn’t Something That You Actually Want.

 

「As I thought, meat is just the best~」

 

Sybilla sits on the floor of the dungeon with her legs spread wide as she bites into the meat of the bat monster she dismantled.

This image suits her somehow.

 

We only have salt for the seasoning, but looks like it still turns out pretty good.

 

「This is a godsend since I don’t want to eat dried food, which tastes really bad even though it’s so expensive. Do you want some?」

 

「Sure. Ah, the subjugation proof for the bat was the fang, right?」

Sybilla takes out the fang from her bag and shows it to me.

I just wanted to talk about how we should divide the rewards though.

Sybilla throws the fang at me.

When I caught it in the air, I realized that this one was already dry.

The Dungeon Scarlet Bat which already turned into a corpse in front of the orphanage entrance.

The one who dismantled and cooked the meat in the morning was this girl in front of me.

I always think about it, but this girl has the ability and personality to join or even make her own party, even though information about her besides her appearance is practically nonexistent.

Wow, this girl just brazenly called herself the most beautiful woman in the world.

Well, it’s true that her face is worth being called the most beautiful in the world, but it’s kind of irritating to admit that.

I’m pretty sure Sybilla said 『that Goddess』 when she referred the Goddess.

 

As I thought, compared to the others, this girl doesn’t have a lot of faith in the Goddess.

The usual Extra Heal activates when I use the skill.

「Even if you say that… using two chantless Extra Heal is way easier.」

I have no idea what gets her so worked up about, but apparently it’s a big deal for Sybilla.

A magic that casts Extra Heal for the whole party members, huh?

 

「Is it really that amazing of magic? I think it’s pretty plain for a new magic to learn, though.」

 

「What do you think is the perfect form of healing magic!? Ordinary adventurers can’t use it without chanting, and if you have a party of four people who are constantly taking damage, usually it would be too difficult to keep up with normal healing magic, and… Wait, can you use Heal Link?」

 

「Level 3 magic, huh? It’s true that one is easier to use in this case. Alright then, I’ll use that next time.」

 

「No, no, wait wait wait. That magic is only efficient if there are four or more people in the party, though!?」

「Later? Speaking of which, I’ve been meaning to ask this since earlier, but it seems you’re really informed about healing magic, huh? Can you teach me about the other healing magic that I might learn later on?」

…I don’t think it was that strange of a question though. But Sybilla started panicking for some reason.

 

「Ah, what I meant by it’ll get even more interesting later on, was that I feel like the exploration will get even more interesting, you see!」

 

「So you’re saying you don’t know what magic I might learn later on?」

 

「Hmmm… haven’t you learned all of them already? If there’s one you haven’t learned, then it’s Cure Link, I think.」

 

Sybilla’s words struck me as if my head had been hit with a hammer.

 

……That’s all of it?

Party-wide healing magic, party-wide cure abnormal status magic, and magic to deflect arrows…. that’s everything?

 

What the hell, so even if I had remained in the Hero Party, I would have been useless in the end, no matter how I struggled?

If that’s the case, then isn’t a 【Saint】 actually a useless job unlike what everyone’s saying?

 

Even in every legend about the Hero Party throughout history, the 【Saintess】, which is the equivalent of my job, is said to have been more prominent than the 【Sword Saint】 or 【Bow Saint】.

But this is all the skills I can learn?

If I could learn magic that would allow me to use my body as a shield, I wouldn’t have been so disappointed in my job even if I didn’t have the skill to attack.

 

But the answer to my question is… in a way, was the cruelest.

Sybilla says it bluntly.

 

「—only a 【Holy Knight】 can learn both of those skills.」
