Chapter 46 Part 2

The next morning, having fully recovered from the fatigue of the journey, I stretched my body and made eye contact with Sybilla, who was standing near the window.

 

「Good morning. Looks like you’re no longer tired from the battle with the Demon Lord.」

 

「Well, we spent a whole day eating, playing, and sleeping a whole lot yesterday after all.」

 

「Yeah, we did, huh? Seafood is very nutritious you see, Octopus relieves your fatigue and fish makes your head clearer.」

 

When Sybilla told me that, it occurred to me that maybe that was also one of the reasons she chose this place.

If that’s the case… it does seem like she was choosing a place that would be best for me, on top of being able to enjoy sightseeing. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to talk about nutrition and such.

Perhaps she’s trying to do all the things she wants to do and what she needs to do, killing two birds with one stone. Or rather, she already did and it was a success.

Emmy also woke up, probably from hearing our conversation.

This is great, looks like everyone is in good shape.

 

After we finished morning preparations, we all went to the guild together.

The atmosphere was more lively than the ones in Hammond, and far from the ones in Adria village. This might be due to the personality of this city.

 

Sybilla was about to immediately leave after she registered our party to be able to operate in this city by presenting her adventurer tag to the receptionist, once again showing she was already used to handling this kind of stuff.

……Hm? The one who called out just now… was that guy huh.

There was a man about the same height as Vince, standing there, with the air of someone who likes to fool around.

 

I thought Sybilla was going to ignore him and just go, but it looked like she was thinking about it as she crossed her arms. Oi oi, you’re not actually considering taking up on his offer, right?

 

「Hmm… well then, Emmy-chan.」

 

「…….Eh? Me?」

 

「Why don’t you go give this sad and poor gentleman who misses the touch of a woman over here a firm handshake with both of your hands?」

 

Sybilla turned to Emmy as she said this with a wide grin on her face.

Ahh, I see… even I can see where she’s going with this now.

 

After being told so by Sybilla in a whisper, Emmy steps forward and holds out her hands which are covered in armor.

 

「Ooohhh~ Aren’t you a cutie~? Well then, as a sign of our meeting…」

 

And then, with no protection at all and just his bare hands, he holds her hands. No, it’s more like, he tried to hold them.

Because just before his hands grasped one of Emmy’s hands, she wrapped both of her hands tightly around both of them.

 

「……Hm? Oi, what are you… ouch ouch ouch ouch!」

 

That was a natural reaction, as expected of Emmy’s strength as a Holy Knight which I can’t even compete with.

The people in the surroundings are also startled by the man’s screams as they move their gazes toward him.

 

Sybilla grinned as she brought her face closer to the man and said.

 

「I can totally understand why you want to hit on me, the most beautiful girl in the world, but sorry~ I have a prior engagement you see. But if you promise you won’t hit on me again like a creep, I don’t mind letting you off this time you know~?」

 

「Ouch ouch, alright alright, I got it! I was wrong and I won’t approach you anymore, or rather, this girl is scarrryyyy!」

 

Emmy released his hands as she said 「Muuー scary you say… that’s just rude, don’t you think?」.

Looks like this guy is completely scared of Emmy now.

 

「Well, you should learn to gauge the level of your opponent a little better. Then, bye~」

 

After Sybilla ended the conversation one-sidedly, she immediately walked out of the guild. Emmy and I looked at each other for a moment, then hurried after her.

 

「Hmmm… I didn’t expect that we’d encounter one of the famous cliches in Seiris, “running into a womanizer” this early, but I’m glad that we turn the tables on that pick-up artist bastard!」

 

「So that kind of thing happens a lot here, huh?」

 

「It is, those kinds of guys are everywhere in this city. But well, since there were so many adventurers and receptionists in the guild earlier, I don’t think they will carelessly approach us anymore. It’s better to deal with this kind of thing early.」

 

To think that she had planned it that far ahead… well, it’s Sybilla we’re talking about here, so I guess that’s to be expected.

On the other hand, Emmy seemed to be pretty upset by that guy’s reaction earlier.

I do think that guy went too far with his reaction, so I called out to ask if she was alright.

 

「Emmy, are you alright?」

 

「Russell, I’m not scary right…?」

 

「How can I say that you’re scary when you’re on our side? At least I know for a fact that you’re far more dependable than that guy.」

 

When I told her that, she looked relieved as she patted her chest.

It’s not a problem at all since she’s already a part of our 『Twilight Pact』.

She’s an important party member who will fill in the gaps between me and Sybilla.

I’m counting on you.

 

With these feelings in my heart, we arrive at the entrance of 『Seiris’ Thrid Dungeon』.

Now then, it’s the start of our adventure as a three-member party.
