Emmy’s True Power And The Impact I Had on Her. And My Gratitude To The Girl Who Isn’t Here

 

There are three dungeons in Seiris.

The first dungeon is for complete beginners. It’s a very easy dungeon with the weakest monsters like blue slime and purple goblins.

Even beginners can hardly lose against them. That said, the cash and experience value you’ll get from those monsters are also very low. However, the difficulty level increases from the middle level down.

This first dungeon is where the orphan girl, Eve went (supposedly).

 

The second dungeon is for experienced adventurers.

Even on the upper levels, rabbit-like monsters called Needle Rabbits are roaming around, which can absolutely kill you if you let your guard down, and the middle levels are filled with boar-like monsters called Needle Boar.

On the lower levels, deer-like monsters called Needle Moose appear, with sizes that are twice as large as the Needle Boar, that crush adventurers to death with their massive bodies and three horns that grow from their foreheads. Those who entered this dungeon would have to be either extremely reckless or overconfident idiots.

However, perhaps because information about the dungeon is not widely circulated enough, it’s a common occurrence that every few years, such idiots would enter the dungeon and never return.

 

And finally, the third dungeon.

This is a dungeon with such a high difficulty that almost no adventurers in this Seiris port city will dare to go near it.

Only a handful of high-ranking adventurers enter the dungeon and even then, they’re only hunting on the upper levels——.

 

「——and that’s how it is. For now, we’ll aim to reach the sixth floor of this dungeon and enjoy our first time exploring the dungeon as a three-man party. How exciting, don’t you think?」

My anxiousness is just as high as the excitement though!

Sybilla, with a face that seems to understand my feelings, puts her hands on her hips and smiles with a satisfied look on her face.

By the way, Emmy’s face is a little more anxious than usual. Seeing her reaction, I’m even impressed that Emmy has normal sensibilities.

However, it’s meaningless to this Goddess who always does what she pleases.

Sybilla leads Emmy by the hand to a bearded, elderly man who’s looking bored in a hut near the dungeon fence.

The guy called out without hiding the lustful look on his face….. and Sybilla stepped back and held Emmy’s adventurer tag.

Then, Emmy who understood what she meant, displayed her status.

 

【Holy Knight】 Level 25.

I already knew it, but as I thought, she’s overwhelmingly strong.

 

Of course, after seeing that, the man who had been lusting after her until just now also looked at her with wide eyes in shock.

 

「Ho-Ho-Ho-Holy Knight!?」

 

「That’s right, we’re a party with this Emmy-chan right here, who has one of the highest-ranking Jobs. All three of us are very strong you know~! So… I wonder if we passed your qualification?」

 

「Haha… of course! But, just to be sure, may I check both of your tags too?」

 

「Sure, here you go.」

 

Sybilla then pulled out her own adventurer’s tags. 【Mage】 Level 26, is what was written on it. ……Huh? Did she level up again? Or rather, isn’t her level higher than Emmy’s now?

…Wait, what about me? What should I do about my job?

 

Ignoring my confusion, Sybilla took my adventurer tag and closed her eyes in silence for a few seconds. When she opened her eyes again, what appeared there was…

 

「……Level 8【Saint】! Lad, you’re quite something too, huh.」

「Thank you~ Ah, by the way, is there anyone else who entered besides us today?」

 

「I think there was a group of five who entered earlier.」

Sybilla waved her hands and strode confidently through the fence.

It was a fairly simple fence, and it looked like someone could just jump over it and ignore the old man… but I guess there was no point in stopping someone who was willing to violate the rules just to rush into such a dangerous place.

 

「Well then, Emmy-chan, you take the front, okay? Let’s go~!」

 

「Got it!」

 

Thus, with level 25 Emmy as our vanguard, we stepped into the dungeon.

 

The dungeon has the usual earth color, and the ceiling is so high that I still can’t reach it at all even when I hold my sword up high. The path was also relatively wide, enough for us to move around freely.

 

By the way, the reason why my adventurer tag earlier only showed 【Saint】 Job, is apparently because of Sybilla’s magic. It’s called Job conversion, and just like this magic, there seems to be a lot of magic that I still don’t know about.

「That’s right. I had no information about the dungeon in Adria because it was new, but we’ll be fine in this dungeon. The monsters in the third dungeon are big but slow. In a way, it’s similar to Living Armor.」

 

Just as Sybilla said this, I felt a heavy vibration from further inside the dungeon.

While Emmy and I were focusing to make out what it was, Sybilla, who stood next to Emmy stuck her hand out and threw a fireball in that direction.

The moment it hit the monster, there’s a loud footstep sound and it’s getting closer and closer to us, which belong to…!

 

「This guy is the monster of this floor, Gigante.」

 

「Is this really the time to casually explain things!?」

 

The monster will soon come in contact with Emmy.

As I was panicking, Sybilla whispered to Emmy from behind.

 

「Emmy-chan, Russell, is standing right behind you now. Keep that in mind, okay?」

 

「Ah, yes!」

 

Emmy holds up her shield and the Gigante, with a body that’s no less than two and a half meters tall, clenches its fist and punches that shield.

 

As I focused on using healing magic and prayed for Emmy’s safety… her shield shone with a bright light and sent the Gigante flying far away.

Its giant body shot into the air then crashed into the ceiling, and fell headfirst.
