「So, what shall we talk about?」

Sistina asked as she gazed at me across the crackling bonfire we had built.

「Hmm…for now…let’s talk about everything.」

At the completely honest answer filled with heartfelt emotion, Sistina’s eyes widened, until finally her shoulders dropped.

「…I understand.」

So I finally managed to gain an opportunity to learn common knowledge about this world. It had been quite a task to even arrive at this point.

After the fight I had followed Sistina’s advice and righted the carriage before bringing out the Noble people’s corpses and the bandit from within.

Next I took all the bandits’ money and weapons before loading everything onto the carriage.

In the shadow of the lifted carriage I spotted the body of the Noble Husband who had been put to the sword. Sistina searched through the front of his clothing and pulled out a flute and blew on it. Shortly after a creature that looked more like a llama than a horse came wandering out of the forest.

Since it wasn’t actually a horse that pulled the vehicle I wondered if it would really be accurate to call it a carriage…Llama car seemed like a very sloppy name so I guess I’ll just keep calling it a carriage.

It looked like originally the carriage had been pulled by two of the creatures, but since one of them didn’t return it was quite likely it had died out in the forest. As I thought, the forest is scary!

It seems like the llama became food for monsters even though it had most likely only wandered around the peripheries of the forest. It was probable that there were fewer monster in the outer areas of the forest, so it stood to reason that the monsters would be further attracted by more dead bodies.

As a result we ended up having to leave the Noble, his wife, and the guards’ corpses with the dead bandits.

We didn’t have enough time to dig a hole and bury them, we had no method to preserve their bodies if we took them with us, and it seems it was even possible to catch diseases from their decomposing corpses.

That’s why it was an accepted rule that, if you were able to, you should take some hair, the equipment they wore, and their goods to their destination.

Apparently Sistina had not known the noble and the others for a long time, but after we lined up their corpses she stood before them and prayed. As I thought, she must’ve been a bit sad.

I didn’t intend on overestimating my own power but…I felt a little responsible, since if I had decided to move a little faster I might have been able to save some of them.

I decided to bring it up and apologized to Sistina but she just said 『You have nothing to apologize for. Because you came to the rescue, I was able to survive and carry their effects to the family they left behind.』

This kind of event must not be rare in this world. Rather than just for confirmation of their deaths, bringing their goods back would be good fortune for those they left behind.

After that Sistina took control of the carriage as I didn’t know how to drive it, and grabbed the reigns of the llama and turned it in the opposite direction it had been facing. Meaning it was now pointed back towards the town of Mikrea.

It appears that after this event there was no point in continuing forth to her intended destination.

After that we chatted a bit before we both gave in to the awkward mood and simply sat next to each other on the coachman’s seat in relative silence.

I had no complaints about that as I took the time to observe Sistina.

Sistina was a beautiful girl. She had light brown hair with a bronze sheen to it that flowed down her back until it was gathered together with a small tie near the tips. She had glossy white skin, clear blue eyes, and a small cute mouth. She wore an outfit that felt like a mix of shinto priest robes and maid clothes.

Plus she had two sizable mountains.

She must’ve been around 160cm tall since I was 175 cm tall and she only reached my shoulders.

But because of her height, the size of her breasts seemed larger than they should. Could it be the lower gravity made them droop less?

Un, my excitement can’t stop.

Oops, as expected I had stared too much and she now gave me a bit of a cold glance. That was quite charming in itself.

After we left the forest some distance behind us, we slowed down and camped a little ways off the road.

Of course this was the first time I had been camping so I had no idea what to do. I was quite flustered until Sistina simply told me what I should do as she set up the fire and began making dinner with the food from the carriage.

The first food I ate in this world ended up being a soup made from dried meat and vegetables dropped into boiling water with something that seemed like salt.

Back in Japan the maids had taken care of all the cooking so I had nearly 0 knowledge of cooking so I couldn’t really help Sistina with that.

However taste-wise…being from a country like Japan that was obsessed with delicious food might have hurt my appreciation, but at the moment I felt like it was the most delicious food I’d ever eaten.

If I remembered correctly I hadn’t really eaten or drank anything yesterday. On top of that I died, was revived, thrown into another world, and got into a life or death fight. My mind may not have been too badly affected, but as expected my body and mind were quite stressed out.

After I finally had the opportunity to calm down and eat some hot food, I felt like I was human again…that I was alive.

「I’m so sorry. It was so bad you’re crying? There’s limits on what I can do when cooking in a camp…it embarrasses my title as Acolyte.」
「Eh?….ah…I’m crying…No…that’s not it….this…it feels like this is the first time something has tasted so delicious in my entire life. Thank you.」

I was moved deeply to the point that I shed tears as Sistina and I spoke. She looked at me with suspicion and both of us seemed to feel a bit embarrassed.
