The God Tree District.
Several areas, covered by the permanent shadow cast by the God Tree, were reserved for warehouses, without people settling there.
This district, that normally didn’t see much of human presence all day long, now had a few tents placed by the knights order, and since a month ago has been used by them as a frontier base in the project to restore the God Tree.
Usually, they would patrol the area or go carrying the goods in between the storehourses, while having some casual chats at times. That kind of a base.
Even so, it’s been one month since they set up a camp here. The members of the squad settled and most of the fuss has died down.
Even so, right now, a few very excited knights were there.
「Hey hey, is that for real? Isn’t that beauty the hero of magic-sama?」
The one who raised such a voice in the middle of the storehouse district was a《High Knight》that already spent a few years in the order.
His stare was directed at the girl, with black hair that sways as she walks with cloth bags in both hands.
Those looks and outfit seemed familiar to the high knight that has been in a lot of battles.

Even with us, he would be concerned, if our strength is subpar for the mission.

And that captain looked at him with such respect.
「Until now, the only one who got such treatment was the Hero of Alchemy.」
「Our captain is considerate and prudent after all. But if that captain treats him that way, then Axel-san’s strength should be a real thing.」
「No doubt. We also should follow the example of heroes and the carrier and do our best to restore the God Tree.」

That day, I, along with Berzelia and Saki, was going through the storehouse district, packing the luggage.
We came due to the request to transport goods from the warehouse district to the treetop, which we briefly discussed at Daisy’s lab.
Right now, we are at the stage when after receiving from the captain and other knights explanations on what is stored where I was loading the goods into the bag per their requests.
「Ah. Axel-dono. This is the last warehouse.」
「Got it. Thank you for guiding not only me but Saki and Berzelia as well.」
「No no. I’m the one who should be thankful since the heroes came to help us. It also became a good increase in motivation for subordinates.」
I’m just doing my work as usual, so I have no idea about all that motivation stuff and so on, but if I was of help, then it’s okay I guess.
And as I kept loading goods into the bag from the last warehouse while i had such thoughtsー
「Axel. It seems they want you to carry this as well.」
Saki came from the other side of the street.
In her hands, she had a leather bag.
「Ah, sorry for troubling you, Saki-dono. 」
To the words Sidonius spoke lowering his head, Saki replied shaking her head with the usual smile.
「It’s fine. I’m just helping with Axel’s work. Andー Here you go, Axel.」
「Yeah, thank you, Saki. 」
I say while receiving the package from her.
Then, Saki’s business smile instantly crumbled, and in its place appeared a genuinely happy one.
「Aaah…… This thanks from Axel is more than enough for me, so don’t mind such a small thing. Or rather, please, make demands of me. I’m prepared to do all kinds of stuff at any given moment. Of course, that includes the night as well.」

「Yes. All of the everyday goods are already transported to the top. After finishing with today’s delivery there won’t be any need to transport anything for a while.」
Then, a bit excitedly Sidonius added that it’s「An amazing speed and result.」.
「By ourselves we could transport only the goods that will be used up on the very same day, to think we would have such leeway. It’s all thanks to Axel-san’s aid. ……And now, we are counting on you for the last delivery as of now.」
「Sure. Got it.」
「…Ah, and one more thing. Axel-dono. Can you carry me as well?」
Hearing Sidonius I stopped for a moment, pondering on the meaning of those words.
「Hm? Carry Sidonius…… You mean to the top of the God Tree?」
「Yes. As I heard from my daughter, it seems that humans also can be transported in your bag.」
Ah, I see. If he heard it from Cecile then it makes sense that he would know. In that case, I got it.
「I don’t mind. However, it seems that it’s not the most comfortable ride.」
「Not a problem. I want to have a talk with the head of the Magic Science guild. I already made plans, if you have free space in the bag, then please.」
「It’s okay. As you said yourself a while ago, there isn’t that much left to transport. We can do it.」

「That’s how it is, good luck there, Axel.」
「I’m not happy about saying the same as the hero of magic, but I will try to be of use to you here.」
「Haha, glad to hear that. Then, I guess I can relax and make my way to the treetop.」
