Volume 5 Chapter 27: Dragon Path
Axel jumped onto the body of the Ouroboros and immediately continued accelerating.
The massive dragon’s body.
There was enough space to run comfortably.
A headwind, unique to the world in between, came from the front, but without paying it any mind, Axel kept pushing forward.
…At the other end of this body lies the First Head…!
Knowing that, he simply kept running. Suddenly,
「—!」
「Whoa…?」
The body of the Ouroboros began to wriggle.
Daisy, clinging to his side, also noticed the movement,
「The shaking is intense, but are you okay, friend?」
「Yeah. It’s about time it noticed that something is wrong, and tried to shake me off, but this level is manageable.」
However, it’s best to be cautious. With ancient creatures, you can’t afford to be careless. So,
「I’ll ring the spirit bell…」
Without breaking stride, I reached into my pocket, and took out the bell.
I gripped it in my hand and lightly shook it three times.
—Ring
A clear, light sound echoed.
Then…
「—」
Along the body of the Ouroboros, a glowing path appeared.
A Spirit Road.
It began forming above me, matching my running speed, steadily taking shape.
Most likely, the path was being constructed using the sound of the bell as a reference point.
Seeing this, Daisy gasped in amazement,
「Wow, as expected from the master of the Spirit Guild and the princess of the city! To create such a perfect path remotely like this.」
「Yeah. Thanks to this, we won’t be in danger even if I were to fall off.」
It serves as a place to grab onto, and in emergencies, I can jump onto it.
The path formed by the dragon’s body, along with the Spirit Road—both created by the spirits.
It’s a real boon, and I’m quite thankful for it.
「Since you’ve done all this for me, I need to respond… I’m accelerating now, Daisy!」
「Got it! I’m holding tightly, so push the speed to the max!」
With that reassurance, my speed steadily increased, pace by pace.
Faster and faster, to reach the First Head of the Ouroboros.
