Chapter 119
Shortly before the fourth match between Lenia and Rudi, the battle between Ancient-Celestial Dragon Alexander and Caravis, the great evil god of destruction, oblivion, self-release, and self-love, had yet to come to an end in the rift between dimensions. Alexander did not hold back in the slightest as she gave her all to crushing Caravis. On the other hand, Caravis was displaying unprecedented persistence in resisting.
「Huaaaaaaaaaaagh! N-Not yet! That’s not enough to destroy me!!!!!」
Caravis’s entire body, except the little finger of her left hand, had been wiped out. A mist in a myriad of colors spread and she quickly reconstructed her body. Once that was done, she grinned at Alexander maliciously.
Alexander had already slaughtered Caravis more times than the total number of lives in a single universe. Yet, Caravis did not show the slightest signs of exhaustion.
「Fine. Continue with your pointless persistence!」
With Alexander’s overall might, it was a piece of cake for her to kill Caravis that many times. However, the immense determination Caravis was demonstrating now was a shock to Alexander, who knew about Caravis’s past.
Nonetheless, there was an unbreakable wall of difference between the Ancient-Celestial Dragon and the great evil god. Even if they continued with this battle, there was no chance of Caravis winning despite her stubborn refusal to admit defeat. Faced with Caravis’s confidence in her victory, a bitter expression revealed itself on Alexander’s face.
Frankly, Caravis had no chance of winning. She was simply harping on a single thought.
Cheeky younger sister! You’re just trying to defeat me because I earned the love of Dra-chan and Lenia-chan!
This long and ridiculous quarrel, seemingly longer than the time taken for a universe to be birthed up until its death, was finally stopped comedically by a statement from Bahamut.
「Both of you, if you want to miss the matches of Lenia and Dran, feel free to continue fighting. Lenia’s match is starting.」
Caravis was especially piqued by Lenia’s match. As for Bahamut and Alexander, Lenia was still their stepniece. Hence, they were not entirely disinterested in this fight either.
The first to respond to Bahamut’s words was Caravis. In an instant, a hateful expression was plastered on her face, one so severe that even a loving mother of a mischievous child would be appalled to see.
「Huh? Really? Really?! Crap crap. I can’t miss the fight of the darling crystalization of my love with Dra-chan! Baha-yan, thanks for intervening at the perfect time!」
「I never thought the day you’d thank me would arrive…」
Even though Caravis had expressed gratitude playfully in the past, her words of thanks to Bahamut this time were sincere. As a result, Bahamut could not help feeling that this response was peculiar.
With a quick dismissal of Alexander, Caravis turned her back to her opponent and focused all her attention on the earthly realm where Dran and Lenia were in.
「Hey! Darn you! Are you just going to stop?! Don’t take me for a fool!!」
Alexander could not bear being treated in this manner. Caravis, the one who had displayed shocking persistence and posed as a threat to Alexander moments ago, had turned away the moment they were informed about the matches of Lenia and Dran. It was natural that anyone would want to hurl out a lament.
As Alexander gathered her strength to inflict a lethal blow on the defenseless great evil god who had turned away, Bahamut quickly intervened to stop her. Bahamut simply wanted to carry out the duties of protecting all the dimensions from the aftermath of the fight between these two.
「Let’s end this here, Alexander. There’s a time and place for everything. If you continue this fight, countless innocent worlds will be damaged. Moreover, by the time you incapacitate Caravis, Dran’s match will be over. You wouldn’t even have defeated her completely.」
「Ngaaaaaaaah! But it’s only Caravis!!!」
Alexander flew into a fit of rage as she was forced to step back from fighting Caravis, a weak opponent she despised. However, she, too, was interested in Lenia’s match and the results. After all, she had spent time training with this niece-in-law she was not quite fond of.
As Alexander continued with her grumbling, Bahamut turned to face Caravis. He looked at Caravis’s back a distance away and let out a soft sigh. He was not particularly exhausted, but he did feel rather sick of watching such quarrels happen time and again. More importantly, Bahamut had to defend the various worlds from Caravis’s influence as her emotions fluctuated along with the progression of Lenia’s match.
As Selina, Dramina, and the rest noticed the two Ancient-Celestial Dragons and someone who was possibly the great evil god fighting and watching the matches in the rift between dimensions, Lenia’s match finally came to an end. At that moment, a part of the celestial realm grew jittery, as though they were on the verge of a huge battle.
This was the territory governed by Chrono Maze, the goddess of time. Presently, the middle and lower-ranked gods of time had gathered here.
Rainbow-colored gems were embedded in a clock face in the center, with numerous clocks of various sizes surrounding it. In this area, the subordinate gods and angel devotees of Chrono Maze were lined up orderly. Every single person present had a look of anxiety on their face as they waited for their main god, Chrono Maze, to speak.
「Everyone, are you ready? Soon, the reincarnation of the majestic Ancient-Celestial Dragon Lord Dragon will be displaying his might before the entire earthly realm. We are forbidden from intervening, but we can witness the coming fight. Everyone, open your eyes wide and behold Lord Dragon!」
With Chrono Maze’s utterance, the silent crowd of followers cheered in unison as their faces flushed excitedly.
Despite being gods, these ladies held utter reverence for the Ancient-Celestial Dragon Dragon. Hence, they gathered to watch over Dran’s match and waited for the fight to begin.
“As for Bahamut and Alexander, Lenia was still their niece-in-law.” <- shouldn't it be "step-niece"? She's not the niece of their spouse(s) nor the spouse of their nephew/niece.
