Chapter 148 — Part 1

The Esterald Galaxy Federation, as part of the Esteral Galaxy’s territory, fought trifling battles with the aliens from other galaxies several thousands of years ago, but the Federation suffered a defeat greater than they’ve ever had since the beginning of their formation.

At the time, among the military fleet that the Federation possessed, over half of the large scale Galaxy Fleet was deployed, and absolutely every one of them believed that the other galaxies would be won over and integrated into their own territory, so they harbored no doubts.

But what awaited them when they reached those galaxies, was a fierce counterattack from the multiple alien races, despite them being far inferior to the Federation in terms of technology, due to their infinite fighting spirit, boundless greed, and terrifying savagery.

They have already been fighting amongst themselves for supremacy in their galaxy for over two thousand years, but even when confronted by invaders, they did not choose to join hands to fight against them.

But even so, they succeeded in fighting off the invaders without ever having coordinated properly.

With an unprecedented loss of more than ninety nine percent of the fleet that had participated in the military campaign, and including the all the invaders who had pursued them into the Esteral Galaxy, the Federation lost a considerable amount of military power and influence, and its history of development was plunged into an abyss of decay.

The enemies chasing after them realized that the Federation did not have enough power to strike back at other galaxies, so they quickly returned to their own galaxies as soon as possible and resumed the conflicts amongst themselves again.

The sight of their pursuers turning back and leaving, as if they had never even cared in the first place, was burnt into the retinas of the Federation survivors.

After that, the surviving inhabitants of the Federation could never forget the flames of humiliation that burned in their minds, and they were fueled by their resentment as they spent thousands of years rebuilding their fleet, until they could finally enact their plans of revenge.

They conducted a blitzkrieg attack on the home planets of the aliens who had once intercepted and pursued them, and destroyed them all. They weren’t thinking of occupying or taking control of them in the slightest, all they wanted was to get their revenge.

One of the space fleets dispatched by the newly reconstructed and reborn Esterald Galaxy Federation aimed for the ones who once sat in the heavens — the planet where the ones known as Celestial Beings originated.

The Celestials had already vanished from the many planets they had colonized and settled in, and most of their artificial celestial bodies had long since been destroyed or stopped functioning, so there was no one in all of space that could stand in the way of the fleet.

They knew that the ones known as Celestials were already well on their way to destruction, but the flames of their resentment never seemed to end, as if them just being born on the same planet as their sworn enemy was reason enough to want to erase their existence.

Their fleet of ships were constructed from fluid metal in the shape of various different sized sting rays, and it seems like they had finally regained some of the technological prowess they once had, giving all they had to rebuild themselves.

Each warship is equipped with a celestial weapon of destruction, which had the power to destroy the Celestials’ homeworld a thousand times, or even ten thousand times, over.

The one appointed as general of the fleet is a High Elf from the Esteral Galaxy, known as Shuu La Creel, and he brushed back his long, platinum-like hair while staring with his jade green eyes at the telescopic image of the Celestials’ homeworld.

High Elves are said to have eternal lifespans, and based on his appearance, Shuu looked like he might be in his thirties, but in his past, his home planet was destroyed by the hands of the Celestials when it joined the Federation.

Everything except from his neck upward was covered by a silver bodysuit that distinctively highlights the outline of his body, and is an all-environment protective clothing that fits anyone of any size. Even if he were thrown out into space, his life would be preserved without any difficulties.

Shuu slammed his right fist into his left palm, which was covered by those protective clothing, and laughed as he stared at the image with hatred swirling in his eyes.

It was possible to destroy the home planet of the Celestials from outside of the star system, but the men driven mad by their hatred advanced their fleet forward. They wanted to destroy the planet within a distance where the planet was visible with their eyes, not from afar.

Unlike Shuu, many of the members of the fleet belonged to the next generation and never saw the moment when their home planet was destroyed, but instead inherited the grudge of their ancestors. This grudge runs so deep that they had no hesitation in destroying an entire planet inhabited by people who no longer hold any relation to the Celestial Beings.

「All ships, maintain current speed and advance toward the target. Now, the time has come to get our revenge, in memory of our resentment, the hatred of our ancestors, and all the ones who lived and died for the Galaxy Federation.

We will crush, smash and annihilate the abominable planet that gave birth to one of our most fearsome enemies, the Celestials, and begin the battle that will make the name of the glorious Esterald Galaxy Federation known throughout all the universe.

Arise, and fight to regain our honor which was once disgraced. Rejoice, for this is a battle to rekindle our glory, which was lost after we were scattered across space. Press on, advance, advance, because the path we are on will be marked in history as the path of our new found glory!」

Shuu’s speech was transmitted to all ships, and raised everyone’s morale higher than ever.

They all shared mutual hatred as burning motivation in their hearts, and it was extremely easy to stoke that flame.

Every single one of them was happy that if they just continue forward, they could destroy the planet that the Celestials were born on, and wipe out any traces of its existence. But as if suddenly splashed with water, news from the small patrol and reconnaissance fleet arrived.

The Operators, metallic lifeforms that look like stacked black metal plates, used a translation machine to change their language to the standard language of the Federation, and clearly communicated their message to Shuu.

「Incoming transmission from Parkcenar Fleet. At approximate direction of 4-7-8-5 and distance of 18,000 Teoral, level 6 lifeform — dragon confirmed」

Living weapons with combat ability that could rival a standard Federation warship. That is what level 6 is.

「They were able to approach us this close, did they use stealth? It must be the dragons that live in the Celestials’ home planet, or Arcadian, as they call it. That damned race.

Level 6 isn’t nearly enough to be a threat to our fleet, but this must be a set up by those Dragon Emperors. They are the ones who survived, even after the Celestials were destroyed.

The target is tentatively named Dare 1. Use of all armaments are allowed. All ships, prepare to fire main guns. The target is Dare 1.

The Parkcenar Fleet will keep the dragon occupied. Then all warships will fire volleys from their main guns and destroy every atom of the target.」

No one raised any objections to using an excessive concentration of firepower and waste of energy against a level 6 lifeform. This was the bell signaling the start of their desired revenge, they were well aware of that.

If this dragon was a subject of the Three Dragon Emperors of Arcadian, a target of their hatred equal or even greater than the hatred they held toward Celestials, then there was not a single reason to overlook this. No, if it was a lifeform from Arcadian, then even if it was just a measly tick, or even a single flower, they had no reason to let it pass.

But when all the warships were only a few moments away from finishing the energy charge of their guns, as Shuu had ordered, the metal Operators from earlier let out sounds that resembled screams.

「High energy response detected from target Dare 1, estimated level change, 6, 7, 8, 9… 10, and rising further!」

「Over level 10, that’s not one of their subjects, that’s the Three Dragon Emperors themselves! Hurry and fire the main guns, there’s no need to wait until the energy charge is done.

Load dimension-cutting warheads and antimatter warheads in torpedo tubes, launch automatic tracking and jumping torpedos in sequence at Dare 1. I entrust the timing of firing to each ship!」
