Chapter 177 — Part 1
The Ludra Buster shells launched by Gandoga were filled with spirit stones and magic potions, which would have a chain reaction with the surrounding spiritual power to create a scorching hell and a stormy hell within a particular area.
The exploding cannonball shells sent a giant tornado of red hot flames through the clear blue sky, mowing down and carbonizing the trees and melting the gouged out ground.
In the middle of that hell, which no normal creature could survive in, a humanoid shaped golden light spewed out in all directions, and blasted away the scorching heat storm without leaving a single trace left.
「Oooooh!!」
Aslam stood in the center of that light and raised a majestic roar, and his fighting spirit, which was probably two times or even more stronger than before, changed into armor, protecting the whole body of the martial artist, for whom even the word “extraordinary” wouldn’t be enough to describe him.
In this moment, Aslam’s body itself was acting as a catalyst to generate and amplify the fighting spirit in every organ, blood vessel, and cell in his body.
From within that hell which no living, breathing creature with flesh could withstand for even a second, Aslam showed no signs of exhaustion.
Even those who have mastered the passed down art of rakshasa wouldn’t have been able to maintain their fighting spirit for long, and would quickly be depleted. But Aslam continued to produce endless amounts of fighting spirit, which further strengthened his body in a repeating cycle.
Although it can be said he is strengthening himself through his fighting spirit, that process naturally places an equal burden on the body of the person being strengthened.
But as long as he was receiving more power through that fighting spirit than his body originally possessed, no matter how skilled he was, he should not be able to escape the load of that burden.
「For Aslam, his limits are incredibly tall or far away, you could say. I’ll have to ask later if the kingdom has any information on him」
In the pilot’s seat in the cockpit of the Gandoga, Lynette couldn’t help but raise her guard against Aslam’s fighting spirit levels, which have been continuing to rise since earlier.
Aslam’s numbers, as an individual, are one thing, but moreover, he has merged with the natural energy contained within the surrounding earth, wind, and sunlight. Right now, the energy of Ammel Mountain itself has become Aslam’s ally, or rather, has become a part of him.
However, Lynette did not falter from that. Indeed, Aslam’s skill was something to look out for. He was a tremendous martial artist, the kind that only shows up once in a single era.
But fortunately, or unfortunately, Lynette knew from her experience ever since she woke up in the ruins of the Celestial Beings, a mere mountain becoming your ally wasn’t something worth being afraid of.
No, rather than not being worth it, it would be more appropriate to say that she felt numb to it.
「Cooling of the Ludra Buster gun barrel commencing, Paracelsus-type eternal engine output stabilized, Madori-type magic engine output also normal, magical jet propulsion system normal, no abnormalities in the main frame and joints. Gandoga’s situation continues!」
An explosive light is created and jets out of the Gandoga’s rear, where magic power is captured, and the overwhelmingly accelerated performance turns the giant white light into a bullet — and the same was going on for Aslam, too.
The giant martial artist was clad in gold, and it was as if he did not know of the option to retreat from the artificially created giant.
It took less than a hundredth of a second for the two iron fists to collide head-on once again, and the armor on both sides of the Gandoga’s shoulders moved into action, pointing their interior sides toward Aslam.
Aslam observed the sharp metal tips that he glimpsed within the inside of the armor, with the countless holes drilled into it, and immediately after that, they were all ejected all at once, at a speed that pierced through the wind.
「Electromagnetic acceleration, injection-type magic alloy spear with built in composite shield, Gaebolg Thorn!!」
Built into the underside of the large armored shield, the long and thin magic alloy spear bears the name of the legendary magical spear, and comes out of ejection ports on either side, counting in the hundreds for both sides, and with their curse of incurability, they attack Aslam all at once.
Aslam’s face remained as calm and emotionless as a rock as he unleashed his hidden techniques against the flock of cursed spears, which could turn even the highest ranking large demonic beasts into shredded flesh if they were to be hit by it.
「Phoenix Wing!!」
As if he possessed no bones in his body at all, Aslam’s extraordinarily muscular arms flexibly and beautifully spread outward to both sides of him.
The golden fighting spirit fluttered like the flapping wings of a phoenix, and collided head-on with the cursed spears that were attacking him, and at the midpoint between the two, an explosion between the black curse and the gold fighting spirit spread out like scattered beads.
The next move was the same for both the Gandoga and for Aslam. Without any fear, they attacked each other from within the countless number of explosions, and this time, they would collide head-on!
「Super High Speed Rotating Drilling Ram, the Cernunnos Horn!」
The cone-shaped horn extending diagonally and upwards from the Gandoga’s forehead began to rotate with intense speed while raising the sound of metal scraping against metal as Lynette operated them, aiming for Aslam mercilessly even while the curses and fighting spirit still whirled around them.
In response, both of Aslam’s palms are covered in dazzling gold light, and he slammed them into the man-made monster, which is more than twice as big as him.
「Aun Palm」
Aslam’s palms clamped down from both sides of the Gandoga’s horn, which has the same name as Cernunnos, one of the gods who rules over the Underworld, and the great strength that both sides possessed began to bite at each other, fierce enough that they should have broken each other down.
Aslam, who was able to catch the accelerated and massive Gandoga and create a state of equal opposition with it, was truly an extraordinary and remarkable person, but because he was human, there was a part of him that was inevitably inferior to Gandoga.
For example, Aslam’s weapons are his limbs themselves, but for Gandoga, a man-made being, many things can be attached to those limbs.
「Super Lightning Machine and Thunder Amplification Horn, Jupiter Horn!」
The wide horns extending from both sides of the Gandoga’s head turned to aim straight up toward the sky, and the lightning generated inside the Gandoga shot up into the sky through those horns, and black clouds spread out across the sky of the surrounding area in the blink of an eye.
It was limited to only weather related to lightning, but the Jupiter Horn possesses a temporary weather manipulation function.
Suddenly, the black clouds became larger and thicker, and with the white light flickering inside them like a billowing dragon, they became a single main stream that fell toward Aslam, who was conflicted on whether to advance or retreat from the attack!
The man-made lightning fell from the false black clouds and aimed straight toward Aslam, defying most of the physical laws of nature, but oh, Aslam did exactly as Lynette had expected, as he used both his hands to twist the Cernunnos Horn to handle it while simultaneously turning himself around to avoid it.
But that was a move that Lynette had predicted, and she immediately noticed it, as she tried to move into a counterattack with the Perkona Spire in her right hand, and the Agni Edge in her left hand.
「I must say, I’m impressed by you, assassin!」
In the midst of the fierce battle between Gandoga, controlled by Lynette, and Aslam, Zanad stepped in between without a trace of fear, even though she would have been instantly crushed if she had been an ordinary soldier or warrior.
If it weren’t for Lynette, who was physically connected to the Gandoga and had increased sensory functions, she wouldn’t have been able to spot Zanad during the fierce battle with Aslam.
That is how fearsome Zanad’s invisibility is.
When Aslam assimilated with nature’s energy, he had gained overwhelming combat ability, but when Zanad also assimilated with the natural energy, she had secured the ability of invisibility by hiding her own existence.
But no matter how completely she could hide her presence, she still wasn’t able to penetrate Gandoga’s armor, which was solid both physically and magically.
The metal thread technique which she manipulated artistically with her fingers, and the wave attack that she released with advanced magic, no matter how many times she used them both, neither of them could penetrate through Gandoga’s armor.
We are losing more and more of the plot. I hope that soon a hero will license the LN (or translate it, at least), because these bits and pieces only do three things: consuse the heck out of the readers, harm the reading experience once you get to read the full work, and, worst of all, fan the flames of addiction so readers come to seek more and more snippets, worsening the first two problems.
