Chapter 90 – Part 1
The sacred sword that had pierced my heart as an Ancient Celestial Dragon when I descended to this earth, the Dragon Slayer.
It was wielded by the most powerful hero I knew of, who held the best skills, and was the most powerful, in both physical and spiritual strength. That hero swung that sword, and ended my life as a dragon.
I thought it had been lost during the war which had risen up during the eternity of time after my death; the war between the heavens and the demon world, which had gotten the dragon world involved as well. But here it was, once again appearing before my eyes after I had been reborn as a human.
「You have nothing to say? Well, I’m sure it’s not a good feeling, after all. You’re looking at the sword that once killed you, so I don’t blame you」
However, this time, the one holding Dragon Slayer in his hand wasn’t the young male hero with the refreshing smile from before.
Looking neither male nor female, old nor young, he was a devil filled with perplexities. He was alluringly beautiful enough for one to want to give up their soul to him; a mage who looked both masculine and feminine at the same time. Such was the person wielding the sacred sword.
「Bastrell……」
The smile Bastrell had on ever since he had appeared deepened, and he made no effort to hide his joy.
It was a smile so captivating, it would enchant even a saint who had experienced the hardships of penance.
However, from my point of view, I could see murky, dark greed in the place where the thin layer of skin has been peeled back. I couldn’t feel anything other than hatred.
「If you wish, I can tell you the story of how the real Dragon Slayer crossed vast amounts of time to be wielded by my hands. Would you like to hear it?
Fufu, but it looks like the young lady right there wants to say that she just doesn’t care about the story.
Is it because my soul is so evil, it makes you feel cold? Even so, this high level of spiritual power is amazing.
Demon Lord, Demon King, no, even a lower class god– this level of power surpasses all of them.
No matter how many times one is reborn, a being born on this earth couldn’t possibly have this much power……」
The one Bastrell was looking at as he marveled with genuine amazement from the bottom of his heart, was Lenia. Lenia didn’t seem to have any care about Bastrell’s gaze on herself, and instead just kept on looking at Dragon Slayer.
In her eyes, Dragon Slayer was the sword that killed her father– killed me– and should be hated.
So then, because Lenia held an excessive amount of respect and love for me in her heart, it was easy to imagine that a storm of hatred and rage was overflowing inside her right now.
Her half-transformed state as a dragon that she had kept up until now was released, and an atmosphere as quiet as a windless night surrounded her.
Lenia was a girl of black hair and pale skin, and she was so beautiful, it seemed unnatural. Her face easily looked like it could be the face of a dollmaker’s masterpiece. Yet on that face, nothing but a blank expression could be seen.
「That sword…」
Her lips, which came off as more lovely than they were bewitching, opened as her whispered words spilled out.
Lenia’s gaze remained glued to Dragon Slayer held in Bastrell’s hand, and she wouldn’t look away for a second.
With each word she muttered, Lenia took a step forward. Her steps were like that of a puppet whose strings have been cut, about to fall over.
「Do you have a problem with this sword? Perhaps you also have a history with it?」
Without knowing that Lenia was a divine beast, made by using the information from my spirit to build her soul, Bastrell waved Dragon Slayer around in his hand for her to see. He grinned as he called out to Lenia, as if making fun of her.
That must have plucked the strings of Lenia’s fury and hatred inside her.
She was the divine beast created by a god and feared by all, the one who could bring disaster to this entire world. Right after he said that, negative emotions exploded onto the face of this destructive creature.
Her expression was made up of an all too powerful and too pure rage and hatred, and the expressionless mask she had on her face twisted.
The emotion rising to her face could indeed be called nothing other than twisted, as her upper half finished transforming into that of a dragon.
Just as she materialized her dragon form, an uncontrolled blast of magic power gushed out into the surroundings, and the vivid flowers growing all around were scattered mercilessly.
As if containing all the colors of the world, the colorful petals fell in a beautiful, yet extremely sad, dance.
Because of the fury of her emotions, Lenia in her dragon form was releasing a wavering heat wave, like that on a hot summer day.
The torrent of magical energy rose in density, higher and higher, until it became visible to the eye. It was not an easy thing to do at all.
The purity of her magic rose together with her emotions, and her very thoughts started to have an influence on time and space. Because of that, the space itself was shaking around her.
Right now, Lenia had become a terrifying being of evil, from which eternally flowing time, and even space itself, could not escape destruction.
「That sword…… killed me, and Father. That detestable sword!!」
The scream that surged forth from within her throat was like one that could destroy the souls of any who heard it. She screamed from the depths of her own soul, as she stomped forward on the cobblestone ground.
Lenia tilted her head in a forward posture, and using telekinesis to launch her own body like a bullet travelling at supersonic speed, she attacked Bastrell.
「Me and Father? Fu, fufufufufu, ahahahahahaha, I see, so that’s how it is! What a great day it is today!
The one who has a deep connection with the hero who once killed Dragon, the one who looks up to Dragon as her father, and the one who holds Dragon’s very soul — all those things have gathered here now!」
Lenia the dragon, swung her right arm in a large sweep, and Bastrell raised Dragon Slayer up to meet it in a direct collision.
Lenia’s one destructive attack was not made up of simply telekinetic power.
It contained the pure, supernatural destructive strength of a divine beast, in other words, it was an attack equal in power to that which a being of higher dimensions would use to create a miracle in the lower dimensions.
On the other hand, the Dragon Slayer held in Bastrell’s hand, had a large amount of spiritual mass and power inside it, enough to rival even the universe itself. Just one particle of the blade by itself was a match in power with a star.
In the center of the golden sword guard, a black crystal was embedded. If one peered into it, they would be able to see countless galaxies and stars of many shapes and sizes inside it.
That crystal inside the sword guard was a window, a gate, that connects all the ever-increasing parallel universes and dimensions.
Through this crystal, Dragon Slayer draws power from all the different worlds existing in other dimensions, which bestows power in all aspects to its wielder.
This one-sided exploitation of power from other worlds might eventually lead to the destruction of other worlds, but in Dragon Slayer’s case, it is equipped with a mechanism that could double the taken power endlessly, depending on the wielder’s own spiritual energy. The portion of power that was taken would be returned to its original world.
Although the upper limits of power that could be drawn out varied with each wielder, any person who wields Dragon Slayer would have access to countless universes, and use that as their own power.
Moreover, this mechanism which turned other parallel universes and higher dimensions into a source of power, was definitely just a bonus for Dragon Slayer. Its true power laid in how, with these other worlds as intermediary, it raised the spiritual power of its user, giving them the potential power to kill gods or dragons.
That was how the hero back then had used this function of Dragon Slayer, to reach levels of spiritual power higher than any other human, and successfully pierced through my heart.
Of course, even with that power, that still wouldn’t have been enough to kill my original self. In the end, I had to modify myself to allow myself to be killable.
Without such a weapon, fighting me was just a dream within a dream, for the humans back then.
Even after so much time has passed, this function of Dragon Slayer hasn’t been damaged in the least, and in fact, has only been spiritually strengthened further due to causing my death.
And so, Dragon Slayer endured the destructive power of time and space itself, and received a dragon’s attack without so much as a tremor.
Ugh i hate how disjointed each chapter is and how none of it makes sense anymore.
