Chapter 96
While Dran had been dragged into the affairs of the various gods from his work in the fields, Selina entered the carriage owned by Dramina. In the private room, Selina sat across the desk from Dramina, and the two were having a discussion.
Both ladies had acquired the status of being Dran’s fiancée, and they could not yield the position of being Dran’s number one to the other. However, leaving this aspect aside, they bore great respect for each other. Presently, they were chatting over how to best spend their time in Bern village and Galois Magic Academy.
Dramina was a rare vampire who could move about in the day. Yet, going about under the sun still took a toll on her, and fatigue would pile upon her body and mind like sediments. She was afraid that if she relaxed for a moment, her exhaustion would show.
Hence, Dramina reluctantly gave in to Dran’s persuasions and obediently rested in a coffin during the day. This pristine coffin was made out of her homeland’s trees and minerals, and it was packed with darkness, energy, and magical power.
However, it would be disrespectful for Dramina to remain in her coffin while speaking with Selina, and Dramina wished to speak to others while seeing their faces. Thus, Dramina had left her coffin.
Only a few personal belongings and the bare minimum of furniture occupied Dramina’s private room. This was all she had brought with her when she had left the reconstruction of her hometown behind to come here. Right now, this room was entirely different from the room Selina and Dran had stepped into back then.
Despite the room’s current appearance, one could still feel the austerity of this place as if it were a palace in the heavens. This sensation was likely due to the history of this carriage, which had been favored by kings of the Valkyrios kingdom and the current owner of the room.
Selina sipped the turquoise rose tea that Dramina had brewed personally as they chattered enthusiastically, continuing their conversation that had been going on since early in the morning. Her long lower body extended beyond the sofa, and her tail would tap against the carpet when the weather got too hot.
The issue of Dramina’s origins had been left to Headmaster Olivier to resolve. In an emergency, Dramina could also rely on a god, just like Selina had. Rather, the main topic of conversation was Dramina’s everyday life.
Even if the carriage entered the Magic Academy along with Sleipneir and the rest, there would be no problems. However, Dramina would certainly cause a ruckus as great as Christina’s appearance if she were to walk around the academy like everyone else.
Despite such concerns, Selina reckoned that it was too unfair for Dramina to remain in her coffin all the time when the sun was out.
Selina’s opinion might be rather kind to a love rival, but it was precisely Selina’s graciousness that had earned Dran’s affection. Moreover, Selina liked Dramina as a friend. Rather than focusing on Dramina’s weaknesses, Selina found it right to praise Dramina for her strengths.
「Hm… Dran can’t walk around while dragging your coffin… bed? Right?」
Selina hummed contemplatively and pouted her mouth in an adorable manner. Dramina found herself gazing at Selina like a younger sister as she smiled and answered.
「I have two suggestions in mind. The first is to cover my face with a veil or a hat, and move about with you and Dran. The second is to hide in Dran’s shadow. Like that, I won’t be exposed to the sun, and I can always be by Dran’s side as a familiar or companion. I can also protect him.」
「I see, I see. The second idea is especially good. Usually, Dran uses his shadows as a storage space. He’ll probably accept making a room for you there with a ‘fumu.’ In that case, the three of us can move about together. I think it’s fine to alternate between both plans from time to time.」
「I plan to do the same in Bern village, but if I’m living here in the future, I’d like to meet everyone in the village and say hello. I guess it’s just a matter of courtesy.」
「Well, everyone’s already used to Christina’s presence. My in-laws were all taken aback, but they’ll probably get used to this quickly since it’s the second time.」
Selina nodded firmly. Her sense of certainty came from the difference in the villagers’ reactions during Christina’s visit to Bern village during the spring vacation and their visit during this summer vacation.
During Christina’s first visit, most of the residents of Bern village had been unable to function properly for a few days. Some had even suffered from psychological trauma that would probably stay with them for the rest of their lives. However, this second visit had been different. Within a day, most of the villagers had recovered their senses.
Yet, it went without saying that Selina and Dramina understood the necessity of anticipating such reactions.
「Though, you’re a queen. Is it all right for you to be living in a village? It may be rude to ask such a question, but I’m a little worried. 」
「It’s fine. After I fled from the kingdom, I’ve been running about in the wilderness with those lads in this carriage. That’s why I’m not immersed in a life of luxury that you and Dran are worrying about.」
「If you say so, then it must be true… By the way, Dramina…」
「Yes, Selina?」
Selina suddenly wiped the smile off her face and turned solemn. Then, she flushed so redly that her blush reached her ears. Dramina found this rather strange and probed back. Even Dramina, who boasted of her supernatural intuition, was clueless as to what was about to exit Selina’s mouth.
「I think you, me, and Dran will get married in the future. Um, I was wondering about your thoughts and hoped to hear from you as a reference perhaps…」
「I don’t know what’s the point of doing so, but… I hope it isn’t a chore for you to explain yourself more clearly, Selina.」
Selina seemed eager for Dramina to make a guess before she elaborated further. She lowered her flushed face and peered to the left and right as if to check for eavesdroppers. Finally, she parted her lips and mumbled.
「Uh… well, we aren’t husband and wife yet, but, see, aren’t we Dran’s lovers…」
A mutter of acknowledgment escaped Dramina and smiled at Selina, who was so embarrassed by mentioning her status as Dran’s lover. Moreover, Dramina, too, was reminded of the change in her relationship with Dran.
Even though Selina was of the Lamia race, Dramina found her innocence adorable and chuckled. As an elder of the two, Dramina found herself compelled to offer endearing advice and started to speak.
「Th-Th-That’s… right. We’re Dran’s lovers. 」
Selina was too uptight to point out Dramina’s stuttering, and Dramina was equally tense to notice her own slip-up.
Dramina was only maintaining her composure in her own heart. In fact, she had not undertaken the attitude of a senior as she had hoped, and she was no different from Selina. This beautiful Vampire Queen was imagining herself behaving like an adult, smiling graciously before Selina who was fuming from her emotions. Yet, reality was worlds apart.
When Selina had blushed, Dramina, who should have responded with a graceful smile, had flushed the same color as Selina. Since their status as lovers had only been established the day before, both Selina and Dramina were still embarrassed to speak of themselves as lovers. Even Dramina, who had heard Selina mention this term, had started blushing.
It was quite a spectacle to see this fair complexion, which has been criticized to be cadaverous and described by poets to be dyed by moonlight, turn beet red like a freshly boiled octopus.
「Yes. That’s why, so, yeah, about kissing…」
The tip of Selina’s tail sweeped left and right coyly in embarrassment.
Even though Selina had been sharing Dran’s bed for days, kissing was a different matter. Of course, if Selina were to be asked if she wanted to do it, she would certainly nod profusely and declare loudly, “I want to!”
「Kissing?!」
Dramina, who would never mention her two such experiences with Dran, exclaimed in exaggerated shock and went with the flow. She was an expectedly scheming lady.
「An act between lovers that’s beyond hugging and kissing… specifically…」
「Specifically?」
Both of them knew what was about to be said, though their lips failed to stop moving. Moreover, the steam that seemed to be rising from their heads was ceaseless. The only person who could stop them was Dran, who was absent at the moment; Lenia would look pissed and storm off the moment the first letter of the word was about to be spoken; Christina would be spouting steam from her head like the other two right now.
Most importantly, both Selina and Dramina, who had intended for a casual discussion, had their hearts and heads boiling. They could only put a stop to each other or encourage this reckless venture.
「Ch-Ch-Ch-Chi…」
For some time, this single syllable bounced between Selina and Dramina’s lips.
「Chi?」
Finally, Selina bit the bullet and uttered the words.
「Child-making, right?! All right, I think I’ll do it from now on!」
「I-I-I wonder! Dran also has the soul of an Ancient-Celestial Dragon, but his physical body is that of a healthy human male. I-I’m sure that he has desires as a human. D-Doesn’t he yearns for something from you?」
「Something he yearns from me?」
「…Yes.」
The sound of their gulping echoed. For some time, both of them fell into a heavy silence, as though they were nothing more than a painting as they sat there.
It was not hard to imagine the thoughts in the minds of Selina and Dramina, women who were burning in the heat of love and almost drowning in their passions. Bodies exposed without a single piece of fabric between them as hands and legs tangled together; lips pressing roughly against each other; finally, minds and bodies of two joining into one…
It was as though there were no longer differences in races as these fantasies occupied their minds. Their faces flushed even redder, to the point that it seemed impossible for them to blush any deeper, and steam seemed to gush out of them.
「Kya! Kya! Kya! Dran!!」
Selina seemed to have forgotten Dramina’s gaze on her as she squirmed on the sofa, completely immersed in her own world.
On the other hand, Dramina did not express her embarrassment in her voice and mannerisms. She did not look like she had even entered that realm of fantasies.
「Ah… no, but no matter what Dran does…」
From the point of view of a third party, this scene sure was disastrous, with Selina squealing and Dramina blabbering out her wild fantasies. Without anyone to stop the two, they certainly needed some time to cool down.
After expelling their burning passions and a short trip to the world of delusions, the two were at a loss for words about their own foolish behavior. However, they continued their conversation.
In a sense, they were rather gutsy with strong mental strengths to boot.
「Let’s forget whatever just happened, Selina.」
「Yes, thank goodness Dran didn’t see us, Dramina.」
「Exactly. Anyway, I’m surprised that you aren’t used to talking about such things. Lamias, Harpies, and Arachnes only have females, so they’re naturally accustomed to such topics. I thought these are races instinctively attuned to such acts.」
「Ah, that’s true of me. I’m just not good at seducing men… Mama and my friends back at home told me I didn’t have any talent.」
Even though Selina was a Lamia, she was horrendously bad at seducing the opposite sex, which resulted in an inferiority complex of hers. She was aware of this flaw, but having it pointed out by others was rather upsetting.
「Ah, but you’re a queen. I thought you’d have received relevant education. That’s why it’s a little surprising that you’re so flustered.」
「Having children is the role of the royal family, and I’ve been educated as you’ve mentioned. Though, I’m not blessed with the experiences to put such knowledge into action. Right now, I’m glad I never had such opportunities. But, aren’t you sleeping with Dran? Maybe it’s hard to ask or you don’t want to talk about it, but it certainly isn’t something to keep mum about forever. Didn’t Dran say anything?」
「Um, ah, I’m probably too abashed or pathetic. I just sleep with Dran wrapped around me, yeah.」
In response to Dran’s unwillingness to lay a hand on herself, Selina had wondered if she lacked charm as a woman. Though, this was certainly not true.
Even though Selina was ready to be taken by Dran at any moment, she tended to be overwhelmed by Dran’s comforting embrace and all thoughts she had would dissipate from her mind. Once her mind was soothed and satisfied, she would fall asleep instantly.
Up until now, Selina had been fine with this flow of events. However, Dramina’s appearance and the establishment of her status as a lover and fiancée seemed to have made Selina conscious of such matters once more. Before Dramina, Selina started to groan.
Dramina, who was before the troubled Selina, reckoned that Selina and Dran were in such a close relationship with each other that they could easily communicate with each other with a look or a hum. The familiar contract was not even needed for such an intimate understanding between the two. Rather, Dramina was convinced that Dran and Selina had a bond that would normally take years or decades to develop. Unease bubbled in her heart as she wondered if there was any place for her to set foot.
Despite having such thoughts, Dran had yet to lay a hand on Selina…
「I don’t think you have anything to worry about, Selina. Our marriage would only happen after he gets a job. D-Dran probably thinks that such matters and having children comes after establishing a stable income.」
「That’ll be good if he really thinks so, but I’d like to ask Dran once just for clarity. By the way, Dramina…」
「Yes, what is it?」
「H-How many children do you want?」
「How many?!」
