In lavish hall of Empire’s palace, Queen Elizabeth presided over breakfast table. Golden sunlight streamed through arched windows, illuminating porcelain plates, laden with delectable fare. Beside her sat her children – handsome Prince Adrian and lovely Princess Amara.
– My dear ones, – Elizabeth began gravely: – I fear I bring grave tidings this morning.
Young royals turned expectant gazes upon mother’s regal visage.
– Shieldtown reports disappearance of tax collectors sent to collect tithes due our realm, – she revealed with furrowed brow: – Lord Edrik has dispatched adventurers to investigate matter, but they too have vanished without trace.
Adrian straightened indignant, blue eyes flashing fire.
– Some foul mischief must be afoot! – he declared hotly: – No mere bandits could overpower seasoned warriors so easily!
– Indeed son, – Queen nodded somberly: – Which concerns me deeply. Our people rely upon Shieldtown’s resources to protect our kingdom and act as a shield
