Chapter 30: Black Thunder

I returned to the Adventurer’s guild to report on the investigation quest. The female staff whom I spoke to earlier was still at the reception.

「I’m here to report on the quest. Also, I would like to sell monster parts.」

「Ah, Aun-san, welcome back! Please start with the report.」

「As you informed earlier, monsters from the Red Valley have indeed entered the Morphia forest.

Just in case, I subjugated all the monsters I encountered in Morphia Forest. There were nine B-rank monsters in total.」

「Just as I thought! The two adventurers who returned earlier said the same thing. Or rather… you defeated 9 B-rank monsters?!」

「It was because I fought them one at a time. If you would like proof, I can pull them out right now.」

「P-Please don’t do that here. Let’s go to the material dismantling area behind the guild. I will accompany you to confirm it.」

We headed to the dismantling area in the backyard. Inside, a cat beastman was dismantling a monster body with a huge kitchen knife.

Looking at his knife handling, he seemed to be quite strong. The monsters were being dismantled swiftly and deftly.

「Kitokito-san, I have monsters that I would like you to dismantle. Where should we put it?」

When the guild staff called out to Kitokito, the cat man stopped his knife and turned around.

「Put it on the table at the back, meow.」

The table was quite large, but I couldn’t put all the monsters on it. I just put 3 on it.

I went to the back room and took out the remaining 6 monsters from the magic bag. The guild staff was astonished.

I’ll leave the money with the guild so you can pick it up there.」

「That helps. Thank you. So, is there anything else I should report on?」

「Hmm, Morphia seems to be more dangerous than we initially thought, so I’ll report this to the guild master.

Since the quest has been completed, I will give you the quest reward tomorrow along with the price of the monster materials. Is that alright with you?」

「Yeah, that’s fine. I’ll come back tomorrow.」

After that, I left the dismantling area and teleported to Foret Noir from an empty back alley.

I saw Kinu and Shinku talking delightedly when I arrived at Foret Noir.

…I guess women become friends with each other rather quickly.

「Aun, welcome back」「Aun-sama! Welcome back!」

「I’m back. Kinu, are you done with the explanation?」

「Nn. I explained everything. Shinku is a smart girl. She learned quickly.」

「Is that so? I’m looking forward to it. Shinku, you will act as an adventurer together with us starting tomorrow.」

「Also, there’s something I want to give to the two of you.」

I gave Kinu the ring of concealment and Shinku the necklace of concealment.

「It’s an accessory that can conceal your status. Be sure to wear it when you go to town.」

「Nn. Thank you. This is a gift from Aun, so I will wear it all the time.」.

「T-Thank you very much. I will cherish it!」

「Great! Let’s complete quests starting tomorrow and quickly reach B rank.

Oh, come to think of it… we’ll be registering our party tomorrow. What should we name the party?

Do you have any good ideas, Kinu?」

「Nn… that magic of Aun… that black lightning bolt was amazing. What do you think of [Black Thunder]?」

「Oh, that sounds great! We’ll go with that! Tomorrow, I’ll register the three of us as a party. Rest up for today, okay.」

After that, I entered my room. Kinu and Shinku were still talking in the core room.

Listening to their happy voices, I think I’m glad I accepted Shinku as a companion.

She’s a bit strange, but she’ll be fine under Kinu’s tutelage.

I got into bed and slowly closed my eyes, drifting into sleep.

When I woke up the next morning, Kinu was sleeping next to me. It looks like she came to bed after I went to sleep. I thought she was going to sleep with Shinku.

I got up from the bed and headed to the core room. I saw Shinku already moving about in there.

「Good morning! Aun-sama!」

「Morning. Huh? Shinku, did you make breakfast?」

「Yes! Ars-sama remodeled the dungeon and created my room and a kitchen. I don’t know if it will suit your taste, but please enjoy it!」

「Wow, that’s great. Can I leave all our meals to you from now on?」

「It’s an honor!! Please leave it to me!」

After that, while sharing information with Ars and Irs, Kinu walked into the core room.

When Kinu saw the food that had been prepared, she looked at Shinku and smiled. …Ah, was it Kinu’s suggestion?

Barbaru also entered the core room, so everyone gathered together for breakfast. The meal was simply delicious. And I felt very happy that we can all sit together and have a meal.

After breakfast, the three of us headed to Recuria.

Now then, let’s complete quests and become B rank!

After that, I stayed at an inn in the city for a week, completed quests, raised my level, and sold materials.

As a result, my level increased to 48, while Kinu and Shinku increased to 44. All of us were B-rank adventurers, and [Black Thunder] was recognised as a B-rank party, so I applied to start a clan.

Since a clan is subject to review after an application is submitted, it will take about 10 days before it is officially approved.

Since the clan name should be decided as soon as the application is approved, I decided to think about it back at the dungeon.

Just as we were taking a breather after accomplishing our goal in Recuria, four adventurers came in through the entrance of the Adventurer’s guild.
