Before heading back to my room, I went downstairs. I felt like pouring something strong straight down my throat.

The first-floor hallway was still a jungle. I wouldn’t be surprised if Totoro lived here somehow. Even the Piranha Plant-looking thing was quiet, seemingly asleep.

I went to the kitchen, opened the fridge, and grabbed a soda. After getting way too worked up from seeing Sera in her underwear, the cold fizz felt just right. Soda was basically beer for boys.

I took a glass from the clean dishes. Maybe Sera washed them before changing.

I poured the soda and gulped the drink down in one go, savoring the fizz so much I might burp out loud. On my face was a look of pure ecstasy. Ah, that hits the spot.

As I tilted my head back, I noticed something. My face stiffened.
