Nanana’s Buried Treasure Volume 10 Chapter 5.2
「Hmph, didn’t you say the same thing to Sansa? ‘If you support me, I will definitely convince Shunju Ikkaku and obtain the information about the Nanana collection he possesses’?」
「I see, so she had such a cunning plan. Well, I’m a very serious person, so I never even thought of something like that.」
I lied with a fake smile and added, 「However, if Ikkaku-san, with his cunning mind, insists on it, then let’s do this. If approval is granted, we will provide Ikkaku-san with information on the Nanana collection owned by Sansa-san free of charge.」
「Wouldn’t leaking that information damage the company’s credibility?」
「You sound like quite the villain.」
「Yes, I’m often told that. Especially by the guy behind me.」
Glancing behind me, I saw Tensai looking annoyed by the door.
Shunju Ikkaku finished reviewing the documents.
「It’s certainly not a bad proposal, but if you want me to approve it, you need to correct a fundamental mistake.」
「What do you mean?」
「The name of the representative director, the person in charge of this registration database.」
Since he pointed that out, I deliberately asked him with a straight face, 「Is there a problem?」
「It says ‘Nanana Ryuugajou’ here.」
I met his direct gaze with an equally direct stare. I stared intently, trying to grasp even a hint of the emotions he felt the moment he uttered that name. However, I couldn’t discern any emotion from him. To put it bluntly, he was emotionless. He felt nothing. He had simply pointed out the deficiencies in the submitted documents. That’s why I felt genuinely irritated.
That’s why I smirked outwardly.
「Yes, there’s no mistake. The leader of Rakuichi Rakusa that is being created is Nanana Ryuugajou.」
That’s right, Nanana-chan is our leader. More importantly, she’s a friend that I invited to work together with us in this company.
「….」
「Of course, we’ve already gotten her full consent. Is there a problem?」
「Nanana Ryuugajou is a deceased person. She died ten years ago. We can’t treat her as a representative. That’s common sense.」
「Yes, that would be common sense, wouldn’t it? After all, we’re trying to start a company with an earthbound spirit as a CEO.」
Normally, this would sound like a joke.
「Then go and correct this absurdity. We’ll talk after that.」
Since he said something so reasonable, I respond with, 「There’s no problem though.」
「What did you say?」
「I’m saying that I have no reason to correct anything that you are trying to point out.」
I laughed defiantly, clearly looking to pick a fight and said, 「Don’t you understand? I’m saying I don’t need your approval. Because Nanana-chan’s position as the head of our company has already been approved by the Nanaejima Management Board.」
This time, without a doubt, Shunju Ikkaku’s eyes widened.
「What kind of joke is this?」
「It’s not a joke.」
「I don’t recall ever approving such a thing.」
「Yes, you certainly wouldn’t have.」
Then, I took a piece of paper from my pocket and slammed it down on Shunju Ikkaku’s desk. Written there in the document it stated that Nanana Ryuugajou is appointed as the representative director of Rakuichi Rakusa, along with the names of four other people.
「Ikkaku-san, you are known on the island as the ‘King of Nanaejima’. That’s a very clear and accurate description, because you are the head of the Nanaejima governing Council, which oversees this island.」
「…….」
「However, You’re merely the coordinator of the General Council; the decision-making power for Nanaejima has always rested with the seven individuals known as the GREAT 7」
The four names written on the document that acknowledges Nanana-chan as the representative director of Rakuichi Rakusa are Saito Futaba, Sansa Kurosu, Shiki Maboro, and Koma Mutsumi. The names are of four members of the GREAT 7.
「I’ve heard a lot from everyone. Apparently, there has never been any disagreement within the governing council before. That’s because, Ikkaku-san, you reviewed all the matters beforehand and brought them up as agenda items for the governing council. And those matters were 100% trusted to you. Everyone always agreed with you. That’s why your decisions were equivalent to the governing council’s decisions. But originally, the rule is that the governing council’s decisions are made by a majority vote of the governing council members. And here are the names of four of those people…」
「…..」
「Sitting on the governing board are the seven people who created this island, known as the GREAT 7. Currently, Nanana-chan is not included, so the total number of votes is six. Of those, four votes are here.」
「…..」
「However, since Sansa-san is currently excluded from the executive board, if you consider her vote invalid, that’s fine. I will get a signature from Ruri Kannagi-san, who is serving as her replacement.」
「….」
「Ikkaku-san, you said something quite interesting just earlier. ‘If you want me to give my approval…’.」
「…..」
「I didn’t come here today to bow my head and ask for your approval to establish a company. As I said at the beginning, I came to ask you to register your Nanana collection.」
「You certainly came very well prepared」, said Shunju Ikkaku, leaning back in his chair and snorting.
「It seems you still don’t understand the real reason I came here today.」
「?」
「Don’t you understand what I came here to do?」
SMACK
I slammed both hands down on the desk, looking down at him as he sat in his chair.
「I came here today to pick a fight with you, Shunju Ikkaku.」
I continued, glaring back at Ikkaku-san, who was glaring at me.
「There are two purposes for creating Rakuichi Rakusa. One is the insurance business aimed at certifying and protecting the rights to the Nanana collection, which I’ve been talking about until now.」
「…..」
「And the other thing is, identifying the person who killed Ryuugajou Nanana ten years ago.」
The corner of the man’s eye twitched slightly.
「Is that the purpose of this company?」
「Yes, that’s right. I’m going to do what you couldn’t do ten years ago. I’ll find the killer who murdered Nanana-chan.」
「So you came all the way here to declare that to me?」
「Because there was something I absolutely had to steal from you.」
I glared at the man in front of me.
The real reason I came here today was to declare that I would steal Nanana-chan from this man. My declaration of war.

「Fufufuuu, Hahahaaa.」
Shunjuu Ikkaku burst out laughing.
**************************************************************
Tensai, who was standing by the door observing the entire scene, widened her eyes in surprise. It was because she witnessed that impossible thing, that impossible event.
And it wasn’t just Tensai. Her brother-in-law Hitotsubashi Yuuya felt the same way.
He had laughed. Shunjuu Ikkaku had definitely laughed. He laughed with a distorted face looking delighted. He laughed and was truly happy.
Tensai had always wondered what it would take to make this man happy. How she could make him laugh. And now it suddenly happened. It happened in front of Tensai, and not by Tensai or any of his adopted sons, but by a completely unrelated man. By the words of a reckless student who had just challenged Shunjuu Ikkaku to a fight.
The emotion that Tensai felt upon witnessing that scene. It was undoubtedly jealousy. Not towards Ikkaku, but towards the man that made him laugh. It was clearly towards Juugo Yama.

I was genuinely bewildered by his reaction. Why is he laughing right now? I mean, I just challenged him to a fight in a really cool way (not like a villain at all), so why is he laughing?
I almost felt like saying, ‘What are you, a famous detective?’.
Then, Shunju Ikkaku looked at me.
「That’s interesting, Juugo Yama. It’s been a long time since someone spoke to me like that.」
「Was it really that interesting?」
「Ah, it was truly delightful.」
And with that air of composure, Shunju Ikkaku nodded.
「Very well, do as you please. Later, when the time is right, I’ll request the issuance of a certificate for the Nanana collection I have. You can even say that I have officially endorsed it if you like.」
「…..」
「What’s wrong?」
「Is that all?」
「Yes, that’s all from me.」
「Um… I mean, shouldn’t you be saying something like, ‘Don’t mess with me’, or ‘Don’t underestimate me’ Or something like that…?」
I was actually prepared to get into a fistfight right then and there, if necessary. But the adult man, the one I thought I was challenging to a fight, was surprisingly nonchalant about it.
「I won’t be taking any action regarding this matter. That won’t change in the future. That’s the rule I’ve decided on.」
After saying only that, he finished saying, 「That’s all.」
He started writing on his documents again. I was actually quite taken aback by how anticlimactic my declaration of war had turned out to be.
I was about to say something more… but seeing the man in front of me, who was still writing on documents just like before, I found myself unable to say anything further.
