Nanana’s Buried Treasure Volume 3 Chapter 3.1

  ｢I’m back.｣

  ｢Welcome back, Jyuugo.｣

I returned on Thursday and Nanana greeted me with the usual smile. 

  ｢Here, Nanana-chan. I bought a pudding for you.｣

Nanana-chan opened the package. Without paying much attention to her hands, I started talking to the person who has been ditching school and has been staying in this room for the past couple of days. 

  ｢Here, I bought coffee flavoured milk for you.｣

I presented the coffee flavored milk to the big cat, Ikkyuu Tensai, who was busy pressing the buttons of the controller playing the game. 

  ｢Both my hands are occupied.｣

Seems like she is at a good part and can’t take her eyes off the tv screen. 

  ｢The hell.｣

I got irritated at her blunt attitude and was going to put the milk on the table. 

  ｢I’m thirsty, bring it closer so I can drink.｣

  ｢What?｣

  ｢Be quick.｣

Who the hell does she think she is. 

I put the straw in the pack unwillingly and brought it closer to her mouth. 

  ｢There.｣

Tensai opened up her mouth, put the straw in, and started sucking. 

Stare

I couldn’t take my eyes off her. I looked at her blond hair flowing down her black cat pajama and looked down at the familiar face. My eyes got stuck naturally on her  lips. 

Thump thump thump 

What? What does this mean?

I was irritated at first but my heart is pounding now at this situation where I’m feeding Tensai with my own hand. 

  ｢…..What are you looking at?｣

Tensai let go of the straw and pouted looking up at me. 

  ｢No! It’s nothing really…..｣

I became axious and Tensai pulled her hoodie down, hid her face and looked away. 

  ｢It’s embarrassing so, don’t look that much.｣

  ｢…..｣

I put the coffee flavored milk on the table and stood up. 

  ｢Jyuugo, where are you going?｣

  ｢I’m gonna go running outside around the block.｣

I got out of the room and started running around shouting like a madman with full force.

I ran around 30 kilometers and my weird excitement had calmed down by then. 

  ｢Haaa, haaa, haaa….. I.. I’m back.｣

  ｢Oh, welcome back Jyuugo-kun. The food will be ready soon.｣

When I returned home I saw D’arc making food in the kitchen. Seems like he is making food for me as a byproduct of making Tensai’s food. I laughed looking at his back, why are you wearing that pink apron with frills on top of the uniform? And why does it suit you so well? Something started to boil inside me looking at a cute girl who was humming and making food…..no, no, wait right there, D’arc is a trap! I ran out of the house again and started shouting and running with full force.  But this time, I ran out of energy after running for 10 kilometers. Nothing good has happened since Tensai has started spending time in my room. I’m concerned about Nanana-chan and Ikusaba-san so don’t put that extra burden on me. 

It was a worrisome Friday when D’arc called me. 

  ｢Jyuugo-kun, can I have a moment?｣

  ｢Hm? What is it?｣

  ｢It’s something about Tensai…..｣

At the end, Wednesday passed by peacefully. Tensai hasn’t gone to school since leaving early on Monday. She has been playing games with Nanana-chan since then. Nanana-chan who’s usually lonely and playing online games when I’m in school is happy that Tensai is around but she’s also worried at the same time. 

  ｢So, you found out why Tensai is acting like that?｣

  ｢No, no. She isn’t telling me. Something bad probably happened and she is not in a good mood.｣

  ｢Talk about being stubborn and honest to her desires, she skipped school for an entire week and she’s been in a bad mood since.｣

  ｢She might recover if we get her to do something different ndd lighten up her mood…..｣

  ｢Something different you say…..How about we go out on the weekends to play.｣

So, we decided to go out on the holiday and have fun. The group would be D’arc, Tensai and I. And I thought it would be better if it was livelier if I invited Tetsu-kun and Yun-chan. Our class representative Yumeji-san came as the special guest thanks to D’arc. I thanked D’arc for real this time. I cried and held both his hands, ｢Thank you, thank you very much!｣ I bowed my head multiple times and hugged him in the end. 

A new label was put on me. I became known as the ‘beast who assaulted a cute girl in the broad daylight’ among classmates. My image in the class went down again, but that doesn’t really matter….. No it matters, but leaving that aside. 

Sunday morning D’arc and I forced Tensai to change her clothes and pulled her out of the house. 

  ｢Why do I need to go out?｣

  ｢Shut up. It’s for a change of scenery. Walk quickly.｣

I pulled Tensai’s arm as she looked listless and we rode the tram heading towards our destination. Today’s destination is the South. The red mall on Sixth Street. It’s the biggest shopping mall in the southern part of Nanae Island. The three adjacent buildings have more than a hundred stores inside. It’s one of the most popular spots among the students. 

First we are going to watch a movie together, then eat, and at the end we can look around the mall. 

  ｢It’s pretty amazing.｣

The tram we went in was packed and when we got out at the station nearest to the mall we saw a horde of people headed there. Seems like business is thriving just as it is rumoured. 

  ｢Hmph, looks like they have nothing better to do.｣

Tensai slandered the people but she was glancing at the mall from time to time and she wasn’t good at hiding it either. According to her attendant, Tensai has never visited a place like this with her friends. She is a weird person, but is a girl nevertheless. Seems like she is interested in places like this. D’arc’s plan seems to be working. It’s about the time for the detective movie to start, she’ll get in a good mood after she watches it. One thing to be careful of though is that this master detective might start solving the mystery before the movie shows it. 

10 minutes before the meeting time Yumeji-san was already there in front of the clock tower near the station’s entrance. 

  ｢Good afternoon, everyone.｣

Yumeji-san smiled, she is super cute in her casual dress too. The thing that surprised me the most was….. ｢Oh, Yumeji-san! Aren’t the frames of your glasses different?｣

  ｢Ah, yes. I set my hair and changed the frames according to my hair style…..｣

She shyly looked down, her gestures are adorable. I see, her hairstyle is cute too. 

  ｢It really suits you.｣

I smiled and complimented her. I heard the  master detective and her attendant speaking from behind, ｢Yumeji-san made an effort to look fancy and the first thing he notices was glasses which is least important thing out of all, isn’t it just mean?｣

  ｢It can’t be helped Jyuugo has an extreme fetish for the glasses.｣ But, I ignored them both. 

  ｢That hairstyle is pretty too and I love your clothes.｣

I managed to smile and compliment other things, I heard the two of them talking again, ｢He was definitely eavesdropping on us.｣

  ｢He is trying to sound so formal and kind now. Look at that malicious smile. It’s disgusting.｣

I could hear my neighbors whispering about me and that irritated me a bit. You guys will pay for this later. 

  ｢So, today’s last member was Yumeji-dono. Seems like all of us are here so let’s hurry up and go to the mall.｣

Tensai was trying to enter the South red mall as quickly as possible. 

  ｢Wait for a bit Tensai. Two more people will be coming.｣

  ｢Two more?｣

  ｢Yama-senpai and others are over there, Tetsu!｣

As we were talking the other two arrived. I could see Yun-chan waving her hand along with Tetsu-kun a bit away from us. Yun-chan came running cheerfully and smiled. 

  ｢Thank you for inviting us, Yama-senpai!It’s my first time coming here so, I’m really excited about this!｣

Yun-chan cheerfully greeted Yumeji-san, ｢Good afternoon, Yumeji-senpai!｣ She bowed down full of energy. 

  ｢It’s my first time seeing you.｣

Tensai looked at Yun-chan curiously. 

  ｢Oh yeah. I need to introduce Yun-chan and Tetsu-kun but first, today we have gathered here because of the girl who has ditched school and is…..｣

  ｢I’m going back.｣

  ｢Yeah, yeah, going back…… What do you mean?｣

  ｢I said I’m going back.｣

  ｢Haa? What the hell are you saying?｣
