Nanana’s Buried Treasure Volume 5 Chapter 3.9

Nishi-san was forced to hold the pocket watch. The vice-chairman put his hand on Nishi-san’s head and spoke bluntly.

「Now you have no reason to cry. 」

Yo, this vice-chairman looks kind of cool. As I was thinking this the vice-chairman asked me, 「Let me ask you something Juugo. Since you secretly had the nanana collection, you could have given us the fake and just quickly left the 《ruin》. Then you could have revealed it once outside and declared victory  and that would have been the end of it. 」

「Well, yeah…」

「From the looks of it no one on your team knew what you were up to. So I know that the other two were really competing. But to me, it also looked as if you were giving it your all and trying to beat us. Was that just an act on your part? 」

I laughed at this question.

「No, I was taking it seriously. 」

「Why? 」

Why you ask? … Well…

「…Because I wanted to win the game normally, right? 」

「Normally? 」

「Teaming up with my senpai, competing hard with Nishi-san… or rather with the vice-chairman, and winning. I mean I think everyone was happy, I thought that sounded fun. 」

Ibara-senpai and the three of us were going into the battle in a good mood, so I thought that the three of us could join forces and win and all of us would be happy.

「Then you shouldn’t have done that trick to begin with. 」

「I’m a competitive person, so when I see an insurance policy that’s sure fire, then I go with it. 」

After all, one of my family mottos growing up was, 「If you lose, you achieve nothing. 」With a wry smile on my face, I look back on this time. Entering this 《ruin》 I thought there were people ahead of us already, and immediately came up with some plans. So I was thinking of various ways that I could obtain the nanana collection. As it turns out one of my plans fell into place so I went in that direction. But it wasn’t until I opened the treasure and saw the nanana collection that I decided to give it a try. Because it was small enough to fit in a pocket, it was possible to replace it with the toy car I had brought along.

「So, was it fun? 」

「Yeah, it was fun. It was funny how I lost. 」

「That’s great. 」

With a satisfied smile on his face, the vice-chairman tapped Nishi-san on the shoulder.

「This is up to you now. I think these are good guys. 」

Nishi-san, who was urged by the vice-chairman, glanced at Kishitani-san and the others and confirmed that they were nodding. Then Nishi-san stood in front of us, looked us up and down, and said something like, 「Well gentlemen. Suddenly, I wonder if you are interested in transferring to our school. 」

It took me a moment to understand what she was saying was a verbal offer. Everyone except for me was stunned.

「Transfer schools, huh? 」

「That’s right, I’m inviting you to transfer to our 7th High School. 」

Hmm? This sounds like something I’ve heard before.

Ibara-senpai speaks up as if to represent us who were confused, 「Wait a minute. What are you talking about out of nowhere? What’s in it for us to transfer to 7th High? 」

To our surprise Nishi-san showed us the pocket watch in her hand.

「The nanana collection. 」

「The nanana collection? 」

「We the student council of Seventh High School are going to set up a nanana collections community with Seventh High School as its headquarters. The purpose is to excavate the nanana collection by capturing the 《ruins》.」

「Nanana collection community? 」

And then again Asumi Nishi-san looked at us, extended her hand, and said, 「We want you to be part of this. 」

「I see, so that’s what happened. 」

President Yuiga sat up on his bed and showed interest in what I and my senpai were talking about.

The day after the battle with Nishi-san and the others I and my fellow senpai visited the hospital room of our department head to give him a report on the previous night’s events.

「By the way Yama-kun, are you ok? 」

「Yes, somehow. 」

I worried our president. The swelling on my face had not gone down, my head was bandaged, and my neck felt bad. The reason I’m like this is because Ibara-senpai got angry at me. I was beaten up by Ibara-senpai because I deceived my senpai and lost the nanana collection. Incidentally, Ibara-senpai, who was the abuser, didn’t come today. She was saying, 「I tried to challenge the 《ruin》 without permission and failed. I don’t have the courage to face Isshin-sama. 」

「But it’s interesting, they want to create a community for collecting the nanana collection at Seventh High School. So how far have they gotten with that? 」

「Nishi-san says that she has already arranged for a main office at Seventh High School and that funds for activities will be provided from the Seventh High School budget. The members of the committee include five members from the Seventh High School and one member from nearby university. What surprised me the most was the total number of nanana collection items owned by Nishi-san and their group. 」

「How many? 」

「She said they have thirty six」

Hearing this, President Yuiga’s face changed color. I felt the same way after hearing that.

「But still. Nishi Asumi-chan… I’ve never heard of her before. If she was having such success I should have at least heard rumors about her. 」

「Isn’t that just how secretive the hobby is? 」

I think what Tsurezure-senpai said makes sense. Ikusaba-san once told me that challengers don’t want to talk to the public about the nanana collection. They don’t want to increase the number of people fighting each other for them. Therefore there shouldn’t be talk about what other challengers have done.

「Still, there is some exchange of information. However, I myself don’t have many people with whom I can do that, so it is possible that I just haven’t heard about it. So… What did you two think of Asumi Nishi-chan? 」

「I don’t know what to say… she wasn’t that impressive. She was older than me, but smaller. 」

「But she had big breasts. 」

I couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow when Tsurezure-senpai said such a thing.

「Well it’s not like she didn’t have any, but I wouldn’t go that far. 」

「That’s sweet Juugo-kohai. That student council president, she was wearing a bra that made her breasts look smaller. They are probably twice as big as they looked. 」

However the reason it’s being rented must be declared. And if they are used for criminal acts, consultation will be needed. 」

「Criminal activity is not prohibited? 」

「Yes, it’s case by case. Ultimately, some people may need to break the law for their own purposes. They will be flexible in that regard. 」

「That’s not bad. 」

「That’s about all they told me. 」

「I see. 」

Yuiga-senpai seems to be thinking about various things after listening to the explanation. Tsurezure-senpai asks him, 「But do you think such an organization is possible, Isshin? 」

「I agree with Tsurezure-senpai. I hate to say it, but aren’t there already fights in our club? 」

「Hahaha, my ears are burning」, President Yuiga laughs it off. No no, this isn’t a laughing matter.
