Episode 4 –The Nurse in Black’s Interrogative Rounds

「I’ll ask you again Yuiga Isshin-kun. After school last Friday after school you were found bleeding from your abdomen in the adventure club room of the third high school, which you attend. An ambulance was summoned by Yu Ibara (who is also from the same club) and you were transported to this hospital. We, the police, consider this incident to be a case of assault, and so we believe that it was a criminal act perpetrated by someone. 」

「No, police officer. I’ve been saying this for awhile now, I just accidentally injured myself. 」

The next day, when Juugo visited the hospital room to report, a police officer was already there to question Yu. The one questioning Yu was Inspector Myouhana Fudou of the Special Juvenile Crime Division 2 of the Nanaejima Police. She is known specifically for being a beautiful police inspector. She brought along her subordinate, Detective Tajima to this hospital room to investigate the incident that happened the other day.

However, even if she asks the victim she’s not going to get any information out of him.

「And what is it that caused you to stab yourself in the abdomen? 」

「I’m sorry, my memory of that time is vague due to the shock and blood loss. 」

This process has gone on and on with no progress. Of course it’s still completely unbelievable.

「Yuiga-kun, won’t you stop this? We don’t have time for this. Can you please give me a proper answer? 」

「I’m telling you, I answered you properly. 」

Inspector Fudo let out a sigh as Isshin keeps his refreshing smile on his face. Isshin brings his face closer to the frustrated Inspector.

「Hey, Hana-san. Instead of talking about this, why don’t we do something more fun? 」

「Huh?! 」

Inspector Fudo was surprised when her name was mentioned in a suggestive manner.

「If you don’t mind, why don’t we go out to eat next time? 」

For a bit she didn’t understand what he was saying, but the moment she understood it her cheeks turned bright red.

「D…don’t play around with adults. 」

「I have no intention of teasing you. 」

With his refreshing smile, Isshin naturally touches inspector Fudo’s cheek and looks into her eyes.

「I am always serious. 」

Inspector Fudo’s rigid face turns bright red from his passionate touch.

「….um, inspector. 」

Inspector Myouhana Fudo was completely taken in by Isshin’s eyes, but when she heard Detective Tajima’s voice behind her she returned to her senses and brushed away Isshin’s hand.

「Excuse me for today. I will come back to get statements from you again. 」

「Of course. I’ll be looking forward to your visit, Inspector. 」

Turning her back on Isshin, who still had a refreshing smile on his face, Inspector Fudo quickly left the hospital room.

「Do inspectors like that sort of thing? 」

「No! 」

Inspector Fudo walks down the corridor while yelling at her subordinate. Detective Tajima following after her let out a sigh.

「Will you be able to file this case? No weapon has been found and we have no suspect. At this point we have no choice but to believe Yuiga-kun’s words. 」

「Do you expect me to believe that nonsense? 」

Inspector Myouhana Fudo gets irritated. As Detective Saritte Tajima says, the reality is that no matter how much inspecting we do, nothing will turn up.

「Since we can’t file this case, we’ll have no choice but to give up on it soon. 」

「What the hell is going on with this case!? 」

Inspector Fudo, who frustratedly walks down the hall, stops to bow to a passing nurse, then sighs again.

「As usual, the nurses in this hospital have a questionable appearance. 」

「It seems to be a hobby of the director of the hospital. 」

For Inspector Fudo, who returned to Nanaejima after several years of working on the mainland (after graduating from a university on Nanaejima), the costume of a nurse’s uniform did not leave a very good impression.

「What is the director thinking while on this student-centered island? I doubt it was ethics. 」

「But, he’s the hope of the medical world. 」

Until a few years ago, Nanaejima invited many doctors from the mainland. But in accordance to the island’s policy, the number has decreased year by year. Instead, young doctors who study medicine on Nanaejima are hired as the active doctors. The chief doctor is the director of this hospital.

「It’s a quiet hospital. 」

「Well, there aren’t that many people who are hospitalized. 」

Eighty percent of the people living on Nanaejima are students, and the number of people who need hospital care is overwhelmingly smaller than on the mainland. However, scale and modernization are as complete as those of large hospitals on the mainland, and they can handle any situation.

Inspector Fudo and her colleagues walk through the wide corridor and pass another female nurse wearing the nurse’s uniform. This time however, there was no bow. Instead, she proudly walked down the middle of the hallway which forced the inspector to pass her on the side.

Inspector Fudo and the others couldn’t help but look back at the appearance of the female nurse. The female nurses at this hospital stood out because of their nurses uniform. Even among them the nurse that just passed by had a special impact.

It was black. A black nurse’s uniform and cap. She wore a skirt with a hem as short as possible, fishnet tights, and high heels. Even more impactful is the woman wearing it all. She had a short bob hairstyle, one beast-like eye, and an eye patch painted with a strange three-eyed design.

That’s really just too much as far as a nurse’s appearance should go.

「On the contrary, it’s refreshing to see someone dress so freely. 」

She’s stunned and can’t say anything.

The nurse in black was accompanied by a young man and a young woman. One is a quiet young man. He is standing, spine straight, upright and looking straight ahead. He is holding an oddly long bag in his hand. The girl is probably into ‘lil devil’ fashion. Her striped tights are distinctive. She is carrying a large bag on her back.

I have no idea what kind of combination those three make up.

「Oh, I don’t want to stay in a hospital like this for even a second. I’m leaving immediately. Tajima. 」

The two detectives walk towards the exit again. If they had known the identity of the nurse in black, they would have pulled out their pistols without hesitation.

After getting through the police’s intrusive visit, Isshin looks up at a familiar ceiling while lying on the bed in the hospital room.

「As long as that female police officer is here, I’ll manage somehow. 」

Isshin has confidence in how to get what he wants from that kind of woman. Besides, according to Kagetora’s investigation, it seems that the police have not been able to find anything at the scene of the incident. Of course Isshin didn’t do anything. There is no way he could have done anything since he was unconscious for almost two days. So who covered up Saki Yoshino’s crime?

「Leprechaun. 」

A mysterious group that creates 《Ruins》 where the nanana colletion is hidden in various places on Nanaejima. Their size and purpose are unknown.

「I thought I was close to getting a grip on something. 」

He rubs the wound on his side. He didn’t expect to be hit so hard. And after it all he didn’t learn anything new about the leprechauns.

「But I did flag it. 」

Things are going well. Now we just wait for the next move.

Knock Knock Knock

「Yuiga-san, it’s a medical check up. 」

「Ah, come in. 」

I was concerned that the voice sounded different from the nurse who had always taken care of me. And the time was also earlier than usual. For a moment, my mind was filled with questions about these details, but as soon as the door opened those questions were blown clean out of my mind. This is because the person who came for the examination was a nurse in black who was dressed in an impossible way.

Her clothes and cap are all black, her chest is open, her skirt is as short as it can be, and her choice of tights is quite extreme, even for an open minded person. To top it all off, her hair is a short bob hair and she wears an oddly designed eye patch.

There is no way there is such an aggressive and sensual looking nurse.

Isshin is stunned by the impossible visitor. But that wasn’t the only visitor.

「Good afternoon Yuiga-kun ♪」

The girl who came in after the nurse in black smiled at me wholeheartedly. The girl who was waving at me with a smile was another girl that had a strong impact. Her gothic Lolita outfit, wavy hair, and ribbons are all cute.

「Could this be Kanna Kira-san? 」

「Oh, you remember me. I’m so happy♪」

Kira approached Isshin’s bed and hugged him emphatically.

「Hey, Kira-san. 」

「Hehe, were you surprised? 」

「It’s been almost a year, but you’re still pretty cute, Kira-san. 」

「Yuiga-kun is like a different person. I used to think he was an underrated handsome man, but now he is the real deal. 」

Kira is beaming with joy, but Isshin is not so happy.

「I never thought that the Three Skull’s number one killer would come to visit me. 」
