「…Hey Yama, what are you doing? C’mon, help me! 」, Ibara-senpai shouts, unable to see my reactions.

Ibara-senpai has no doubt that I’ll be taking her side. So I answer back to her honestly.

「Sorry, that’s not happening. 」

Ibara-senpai’s eyes narrow when hearing that.

「Huh? Can’t you hear me? 」

Ugh, she can be scary when she’s like this.

However, if I can’t live up to her trust, I have to make sure it’s a clean slate at least.

「The reason why you are going this far to participate in the 《game》, Ibara-senpai, is for President Yuiga right? 」

「Don’t ask me questions with such obvious answers. 」

Ibara-senpai is always so dedicated. I’m starting to envy President Yuiga for some reason.

「In that case, I’m siding with Tetsu. 」

「Eh? W… why? You’re in the same adventure club as me aren’t you? 」

Since Ibara-senpai says it like that, I answer honestly.

「I don’t want Yui-san to win at all. However, I have no intention of letting Tetsu-kun win either. I’m the one who will win. 」

Even Ibara-senpai was surprised by my declaration of victory.

I continued, 「On top of that, I don’t think it’s right to leave Tetsu-kun behind. I think Tetsu-kun still has things to do that require him to participate in the 《game》 」

「Juugo, you little… 」

It is impossible for the prince who came to rescue the princess to lose here. Well I wonder if that still applies to a prince who unleashed the backlash of the princess and is about to be left behind.

Ibara-senpai let’s out a breath and quickly gains a murderous intensity.

「Ah, I get it now. So I’ll just need to beat the crap out of him, Kill Yama, and go on by myself. That’s fine. 」

The moment she realizes that something is not in accordance with her purpose, she decides to kill it without hesitation. Once again I think of her as a very tough woman.

Suddenly the train car shakes more violently than it has before with a ‘ka-chuk’. The three of us look at where the shaking came from at the same time.

The black snowmen were doing something with the connecting parts that lead to the next car.

「Hey hey, no way! 」

It definitely looks like they are trying to disconnect the last train in which we are currently riding in.

「Is this what happens when the three minutes are up? 」

The work was done very quickly and efficiently. The last vehicle we were in had been completely uncoupled by the black snowmen who had retreated to the other side. Due to momentum it is still rolling, but the gap between the cars is starting to grow.

「Let’s go Tetsu-kun! 」

After saying that we split up and ran towards the front of the car on either side of Ibara-senpai.

「I’m not letting you escape. 」

Without hesitation Ibara-senpai attacks me.

「Juugo! 」

「Go ahead Tetsu-kun! 」, I yelled while avoiding the onslaught from Ibara-senpai. I blocked her fist and managed to avoid a kick.

「Stop dodging! 」

「No, I’ll keep dodging thank you! 」

I’m being serious right now too, so I’m not going to get beaten.

「I’ll never forgive you! 」

Ibara-senpai is really upset. Of course she is, I understand the reason why she’s angry. That’s why I’m going to say this.

「Ibara-senpai. 」

「What is it? 」

「To be honest, I am really happy that you think of me as a fellow club member, Ibaraki-senpai. I like you a lot. 」

「…huh? 」

Ibara-senpai stopped moving and her eyes went wide as she heard my confession.

Then I turned my back and started running. I added one more thing, 「Ah, I mean I like you as a senpai. 」

「D..dammit! I’ll kill you! 」

Ignoring Ibara-senpai who was chasing me with an evil look on her face, I jumped towards the next car which had drifted further away. …but it’s a little out of reach. Oh nooo!

I thought I was going to fall and hit the ground with a thud, but someone grabbed my desperately outstretched hand and pulled me up.

「You’re being totally reckless. 」

Of course it was Tetsu-kun that grabbed my hand and pulled me up.

「Yama! 」

I turned around to look at Ibara-senpai who was left behind in a separate vehicle, screaming in frustration.

「I’m really sorry Ibara-senpai! 」

After my apology, Ibara-senpai had a somewhat thoughtful look on her face and shouted, 「You better help Isshin-sama! 」

I respond to Ibara-senpai with a big smile on my face, 「I absolutely won’t! 」

Ibara-senpai’s eyes light up and her face turns bright red.

「Yama, I’ll remember this! 」

With her frightening howl, the vehicle Ibara-senpai was riding on moved away into the distance, and finally disappeared from sight.

I’m honestly scared for the next time I see her.

I’m relieved that I survived the trail. I just collapse onto the floor of the train.

「Juugo, why did you choose to side with me? 」

Tetsu-kun seemed to be quite surprised and confused that I betrayed my senpai of the adventure club.

「Because you are going to bring Yun-chan back, right Tetsu-kun? 」

Before the tram departed, Tetsu-kun said he was going to win the 《game》 at Batako’s request. But those weren’t the words I wanted to hear from him.

「Of course I’ll bring Yun back! That’s why I came here~ 」

I felt so happy to hear him answer honestly. That’s the Tetsu-kun I know.

「But I’m going to be the one who wins. 」

I can’t budge on this.

「I’m sorry but I’m winning the《game》. On top of that I’ll also bring Yun back. 」

「You’ve grown greedy since the last time I saw you. 」

「I’ve got a lot going on. 」

「Also you need to go to school regularly again. 」

「There’s no point in going to school without Yun. 」

「So if you save Yun-chan, you’ll start going to school with her again? 」

As expected, Tetsu-kun face looks reluctant to return to school with Yun-chan.

「…I’ve already skipped my finals. It’s impossible now. 」

「If you go to class during summer vacation, maybe things will work out. 」

We talked about our bright future as we got up to walk to the front of the train to pursue our respective goals.

The reactions of the participants were mixed as we returned to the lead vehicle. Some people didn’t care, and others gave us a look like ‘who let these thugs back on?’. Well I guess I can say nobody is happy about it.

M who gave us the penalty is also in a bad mood.

A black snowman approached us and signaled for us as if to say ‘here, hurry up and take an open seat’.

The person who was seated next to me was a great detective neighbor I knew well.

「Yo. Good job on making it back here. I’ll praise you as worthy of being my rival. 」

I brushed off Tensai who was sounding like some sort of villain by saying 「You don’t say 」 then turned my attention to M who was standing at the front of the vehicle.

「Now, as the organizer of the 《game》 I would like to announce that the 30 people here who have met the qualifications have been accepted as participants. 」

M declares this, however that wasn’t the only thing she had to say.

「In addition to you all I will be the 31st participant as well as the organizer. 」

M’s announcement of her participation made the place buzz. Nobody expected the organizer herself to participate.

「And as the organizer, I would like to add one rule to make this game more exciting. 」

「Adding a rule? 」
