Nanana’s Buried Treasure Volume 6 Chapter 4.5

Tetsu-kun’s eyes narrow at the mention of President Yuiga’s name.

「Rather, I would like to ask you about Isshin instead. 」

「Roger that. In that case, let me tell you what I know. 」

And so I told Tetsu-kun everything I knew about President Yuiga. His personality, his past as a member of the first adventure club, his friends Ibara, Yu, and Tsurezure Kagetora, and his passion for the Nanana collection. On top of that it seems that President Yuiga is the reason why Yun-chan went missing, but it’s not known exactly why. And most importantly. That Yun-chan stabbed President Yuiga and disappeared.

「I guess that’s all. 」

I thought he would be shocked when I told him this, but Tetsu-kun remained calm as he always does.

「Is that really all you know? Aren’t you guys in the same adventure club? Aren’t you guys a little closer? 」

「As I said earlier, the president has a tendency to betray people. He doesn’t trust me that much, so he wouldn’t show me his true colors. 」

「That’s a strange relationship. 」

「I think so too. We work together because we have a common goal in finding the Nanana collection, but because we have the same goal we end up trying to beat each other for the same item.「

「Then it seems like we still know more about the situation. 」

「Huh? What do you mean? 」

Tetsu-kun picked up from where I left off talking about things that even I didn’t know.

Before the Tanabata Festival, Batako-san and the others easily found President Yuiga based on the information I leaked, and they got into his hospital room to make some kind of threat. Apparently they made President Yuiga spill his guts.

「That’s scary Batako-san. Really scary. 」

President Yuiga said that he was responsible for the series of events that lead to this 《game》 being held. The ending of the secret part-time job that Ikusaba-san asked Yun-chan to do, the missing period of time that was created during it, and the phenomenon called the 《contradiction》. The fact is that everything was set in motion by investigating all this and asking Yun-chan directly about the 《contradiction》.

It sounds like a joke, but I don’t think Tetsu-kun is telling me lies.

The incredible thing though was…

「Yun-chan died once? 」

「If only my bias wishes were correct, because I find it hard to believe. 」

「Are the leprechauns the ones who took advantage of that? 」

「We aren’t exactly sure on how it works, but the opinion of us in the Three Skulls is that it’s probably an effect of some kind of Nanana collection. 」

「If Nanana collection can raise the dead, then they can do anything. 」

But wait, if that can happen then would Nanana-chan be able to be revived? No, if they could do that then she would have been revived long ago. So is there some reason why they didn’t or couldn’t do it? …well this is all just speculation, so let’s leave it at that for now.

「So the reason Yun-chan stabbed President Yuiga was because her true identity was revealed? 」

「But I can’t imagine Yun doing something like that. 」

「I agree with you. I hope we are mistaken. 」

「On top of that, I don’t understand Yun’s goal of acting as Organizer M」

「? Her goal is to win and collect our Nanana collection right? 」

「I know that. What I don’t understand is why it’s Yun doing it and not someone else. 」

「Maybe she’s being ordered to. 」

「But why does she need to follow orders? It’s hard to image her taking the initiative. I think she’s being forced to do it then. 」

「In any case we won’t know until we hear it directly from her. 」

As for Yun-chan, we will probably need to hear from her. But at least I learned a lot about what President Yuiga was hiding.

「The winner of the last 《game》 was Kasumi Konjou, the first manager of our adventure club. 」

I remember what President Yuiga said earlier but it hits home now.

President Yuiga’s goal is definitely the rare prizes that the leprechauns offered to attract us.

The fact that the 《game》 is held by solving the 《contradiction》 means that there will be a prize for the winner.

But it’s also a trap. We can see it in the penalty for everyone losing that M suddenly announced at the beginning of the 《game》, and in the way she is playing with us with her schemes.

If she played this game normally she would never win.

But she can still be defeated.

That was proven in the last game.

Therefore, President Yuiga must have caused this series of events for the sake of a rare Nanana collection.

In order to obtain that rare Nanana collection.

「I guess so. 」

President Yuiga’s intentions have become clear. In that case, maybe I should be grateful to President Yuiga.  As a result, we now have a chance to obtain the Nanana collection that could lead us to the murderer of Nanana-chan.

Although this is what I think, it still doesn’t make sense. There’s something I’m really curious about.

I wonder how much President Yuiga knew. If he knew what would happen if he poked around Yun-chan’s 《contradiction》. She stabbed the person who found the 《contradiction》 and fled, and then ends up running the 《game》 as the organizer and tries to collect all the Nanana collection of all the participants. Yun-chan’s life as a girl is going to become a mess. I wonder if he knew that and did it anyways.

If so……

My fists clench when I think about it.

Meanwhile, Tetsu-kun has turned his attention to the castle in the center of the park.

「Anego might get mad at me… but if you have a plan to help Yun-chan I’ll cooperate. 」

I couldn’t help but laugh when I hear his words.

「Opps, that’s the words of an overprotective big brother. You’re already in love with Yun-chan aren’t you Tetsu-kun? 」

I was just teasing him and expected to see him panic… but he didn’t.

「Yes, that’s right. I like Yun. 」

「Huh? 」

Him saying that so seriously with a straight face made me freeze up.

What was that? What did you just say Tetsu-kun?

「Ummm… sorry, can you say that again? 」

「I said that I like Yun. And I want to do something to help her. 」

「Whaaaa!? 」

I’m surprised! I should be surprised, Tetsu-kun actually admitted it!

No, no, no. This is the part where you should be embarrassed.

「I realized this after being separated for the past month. I need Yun after all. I want her to be by my side. 」

Wow, Tetsu-kun is talking about his feelings in such a serious way.

Well, what should I do in this case? Should I make fun of him or ignore him?

「Um, so why are you telling me? 」

I asked this sincerely, and Tetsu-kun looked a little troubled.

They are all Batako-san’s subordinates. It’s easy to imagine.

「Well…. What can I say? I’m honestly glad that you confided in me. 」

Tetsu-kun, such a serious man, consulted me about his important feelings. I’ve never been happier as a friend. In fact I’m feeling oddly excited!

「Well, let’s work hard to achieve our goals. 」

The prince will reclaim his princess. Then the lowly thief will get his treasure.

「OK then, let’s go find our next opponent. 」

Tetsu-kun starts walking.

「No, wait a minute Tetsu-kun. 」

「? What’s wrong Juugo? 」

I stopped Tetsu-kun.

「Let’s wait a little longer. 」

「Wait for what? 」

「It’s 1:20 right now, so let’s wait until 1:40. 」

Tetsu-kun is surprised by my suggestion.
